This Sanctuary is awesome because the owners are awesome! It is the Sanctuary i have chosen to care for my Flock if i cross over before they do, and i will be leaving a sizeable portion of my estate to them to care for the birds in perpetuity. Haven't been to see it in person yet, though i may attempt to do that next month. I have known the owners for a decade, and their philosophy is to adopt my Flock or protect them in place if there is no one who wants them. May all generations before and from the owners and the owners be blessed for their kindness to my Flock and for providing after-my-life care to my Beloveds! 馃槆馃檹馃従馃挅

Birds of Paradise Sanctuary & Rescue Introduce
For bird enthusiasts in Bradenton, Florida, and the surrounding areas, Birds of Paradise Sanctuary & Rescue, located at 17020 Water Line Srv Rd, offers a distinctive experience within the "Pet Store Near Me" category. With contact numbers (727) 366-9997 and +1 727-366-9997, this establishment operates not just as a place to acquire a pet bird but also as a sanctuary dedicated to the care and potential rehoming of these feathered creatures. The customer reviews provide compelling insights into the ethos, environment, and services offered by this unique organization.
One reviewer, who has known the owners for a decade, speaks highly of their dedication and commitment to the well-being of birds. This individual has even made arrangements for their own flock to be cared for by the sanctuary in the future, demonstrating a profound trust in the owners' compassion and long-term commitment. The philosophy of the sanctuary, as described, is to either adopt out birds to suitable homes or provide lifelong protection if adoption is not possible. This reflects a deep-seated responsibility towards the birds in their care, going beyond the typical transactional nature of a pet store.
Another reviewer shares a positive experience of seeking to add a bird to their family. They specifically recommend Birds of Paradise to those in Florida looking to adopt a bird. The coordinator's knowledge and patience are highlighted, suggesting that the staff are well-informed about the birds and dedicated to helping potential adopters find the right match. The description of the birds as "lovely and full of personality" indicates a nurturing environment where the birds are well-cared for and their individual temperaments are allowed to flourish.
The reviewer's successful adoption of a green ring neck parrot and their expression of "love" and "happiness" at providing a "forever home" underscores the sanctuary's role in facilitating meaningful connections between birds and adopters. This suggests that Birds of Paradise prioritizes finding suitable and loving homes for the birds in their care, ensuring a positive outcome for both the animal and the new owner.
Given its dual role as a sanctuary and a rescue organization that also facilitates adoptions, the environment at Birds of Paradise Sanctuary & Rescue is likely to be quite unique compared to a traditional pet store. It might feature spacious and enriching enclosures designed to meet the specific needs of different bird species. The focus would likely be on providing a comfortable and stimulating environment that promotes the physical and psychological well-being of the birds, many of whom may have come from situations requiring rescue or rehoming.
The services offered by Birds of Paradise would likely extend beyond simply selling birds. Key services and features might include:
- **Bird Adoptions:** Facilitating the adoption of rescued and rehabilitated birds to suitable homes. This process would likely involve careful screening of potential adopters to ensure they can provide appropriate care.
- **Sanctuary Care:** Providing long-term care and a safe haven for birds who are not suitable for adoption due to age, health issues, or behavioral challenges.
- **Educational Resources:** Offering information and guidance on proper bird care, including diet, housing, enrichment, and health. The knowledgeable coordinators mentioned in the reviews likely play a crucial role in this.
- **Species-Specific Advice:** Given the variety of birds they may house, they would likely offer tailored advice based on the specific needs of different parrot species and other types of birds.
- **Potential for Supplies:** While not explicitly mentioned, a sanctuary that also facilitates adoptions might offer or recommend sources for essential bird supplies such as cages, food, toys, and perches.
- **Volunteer Opportunities:** As a rescue organization, they may rely on volunteers to help with the daily care of the birds and the maintenance of the facility.
- **Community Engagement:** They might engage with the local community through educational programs or events to raise awareness about bird welfare and responsible pet ownership.
The emphasis on adoption rather than traditional sales might mean that the process of acquiring a bird from Birds of Paradise is more involved, focusing on matching the right bird with the right family. This could include interviews, home visits, and ongoing support to ensure a successful placement.
Promotional information is not explicitly provided in the reviews. However, as a non-profit or rescue-oriented organization, their "promotions" might take the form of adoption events, fundraising campaigns to support the sanctuary's work, or calls for volunteers and donations. Local users interested in supporting their mission or adopting a bird are encouraged to contact them directly at (727) 366-9997 to learn about current opportunities and the birds available for adoption.
For local users in Bradenton, FL, and the wider area who are considering welcoming a bird into their family, Birds of Paradise Sanctuary & Rescue offers a unique and potentially rewarding option. The focus on rescue and adoption, coupled with knowledgeable and patient staff, suggests a commitment to the well-being of the birds and to finding them suitable forever homes. Even for those not looking to adopt, the sanctuary may offer opportunities to learn more about these fascinating creatures and support their care.
In conclusion, Birds of Paradise Sanctuary & Rescue operates as more than just a typical pet store; it is a haven for birds in need and a resource for individuals looking to adopt a feathered companion.
