My poor girl has been struggling in this heat, and I've also noticed her favoring her back hip. This was a great way to get her more exercise and start to expose her to water. The staff was fantastic, because she has no experience swimming, they recommended to start her with an underwater treadmill to get her comfortable with water. My dog loves the affection and peanut butter she received. We'll definitely be coming back!

Aquatic Paws Introduce

For pet owners in Falls Church, Virginia, seeking a unique approach to their canine companions' well-being, Aquatic Paws, located at 2830 B Fallfax Dr, offers specialized services falling under the broader platform category of "Pet Store Near Me." However, unlike traditional pet stores focused solely on retail, Aquatic Paws appears to carve a niche in providing aquatic exercise and rehabilitation options for dogs. This introduction aims to detail the environment, services, and features of Aquatic Paws based on the available customer reviews, offering insights for local dog owners seeking these specific types of services.

Based on the limited but highly positive customer feedback, the environment at Aquatic Paws seems to be geared towards facilitating safe and comfortable aquatic exercise for dogs. The presence of an "underwater treadmill" is a central element, suggesting a dedicated space equipped for this specialized equipment. This implies a clean and controlled environment where dogs can engage in low-impact exercise. The mention of staff recommending the underwater treadmill to acclimate a dog to water indicates a thoughtful and gradual approach to introducing dogs to aquatic activities. Furthermore, the positive experience of a senior dog with severe arthritis being able to exercise on the underwater treadmill without pain or lameness suggests that the facility is designed to accommodate dogs with mobility issues.

The primary service offered by Aquatic Paws appears to be aquatic exercise and rehabilitation for dogs. The underwater treadmill is a key feature, providing a low-impact way for dogs to exercise, build muscle, and improve cardiovascular health. This service is particularly beneficial for dogs recovering from injuries, those with arthritis or other joint conditions, senior dogs with mobility limitations, and even healthy dogs needing a different form of exercise. The fact that a veterinary clinic's limited availability of underwater treadmill sessions led a customer to seek out Aquatic Paws highlights the importance and demand for this specialized service.

Another service implicitly mentioned is guidance and support from the staff. The reviewers consistently praise the staff's knowledge and approach. They are described as "fantastic" and capable of recommending appropriate starting points for dogs with no swimming experience, such as the underwater treadmill. The staff's attention to the dogs' comfort is also evident in the mention of a dog enjoying the "affection and peanut butter she received," suggesting a caring and positive interaction during the sessions. This personalized attention and expert guidance are crucial when dealing with activities that might be new or challenging for dogs.

The features of Aquatic Paws seem to revolve around its specialized equipment and knowledgeable staff. The underwater treadmill itself is a significant feature, offering a controlled and low-impact exercise environment. The staff's ability to assess a dog's needs and recommend appropriate services, whether it's starting with the underwater treadmill or progressing to swimming, demonstrates a level of expertise in canine hydrotherapy and exercise. The welcoming and caring attitude of the staff, as highlighted by the positive interactions with the dogs (affection and treats), contributes to a positive experience for both the dog and the owner.

While the reviews strongly suggest a focus on aquatic exercise and rehabilitation, it is unclear if Aquatic Paws offers traditional pet store retail items such as food, toys, or accessories. The emphasis on the underwater treadmill and staff recommendations points towards a service-oriented business rather than a typical retail pet store. Therefore, local users seeking general pet supplies might need to inquire specifically if those are also available.

There is no information available regarding any specific promotional offers or pricing structures at Aquatic Paws. Specialized services like underwater treadmill sessions and canine hydrotherapy often have specific pricing based on session duration and frequency. Local users interested in utilizing these services would need to contact Aquatic Paws directly via phone or visit their location to inquire about pricing packages, introductory offers, or any potential membership options.

In conclusion, Aquatic Paws in Falls Church, VA, appears to be a specialized facility catering to the aquatic exercise and rehabilitation needs of dogs. Its key feature is the underwater treadmill, providing a low-impact exercise option beneficial for dogs of all ages and conditions, particularly those with mobility issues or recovering from injuries. The knowledgeable and caring staff play a crucial role in guiding dogs through these aquatic activities, ensuring their comfort and safety. While it may not be a traditional retail pet store, Aquatic Paws offers a unique and valuable service for local dog owners seeking alternative forms of exercise and therapy for their beloved companions. Interested users are encouraged to contact them directly for more information on their services and pricing.

My senior dog has severe arthritis of both elbows and shoulders and recently ruptured the ACL in his right knee. He is not a good candidate for surgery and the only rehab exercise he can do now without pain/lameness is walk on an underwater treadmill. His veterinary clinic can only schedule access once every 1-2 weeks, which isn't enough to maintain his conditioning. I feel so lucky to have a local facility with an underwater treadmill where he can get much needed exercise and build up the muscles to support his knee.

The staff is very friendly. My dog seems to like it. They're very accommodating and love dogs here. This is definitely a place that you should consider for your pet's physical therapy needs. They also have a pretty interesting selection of treats and dog food.

The best place to rehabilitate your puppy. Chaya, my little pup, had to go to surgery to completely fix her back leg that was broken when i adopted her. And even with that procedure there was a risk she wouldn’t have the leg back 100%. Since she had been restrained for many months i don’t really wanted to keep restraining her after the surgery so i tried to go tho therapy. It worked like a charm and she is now a happy, jumpy, and playful little dog!

Our fur toddler (10yrs old), Geo has severely arthritic hind knees and muscle atrophy. We noticed a significant difference in his walks after just 3 weeks on the treadmill. Not only is he stronger and moving better, he loves going to his appointments at Aquatic Paws! Today he went in the pool for the first time. I can’t say enough great things about how much going to Aquatic Paws once a week has and continues to help our Geo.
