Unfortunately, I had the worst experience with Chico's and Meredith the groomer. I was very much looking forward to having a new, good, groomer close by. But this was not the case. I brought my dog in for a grooming, and she did the worst job. I reached out to management via email explaining what happened and sent photos. I didn't hear back for almost a week. When they did reply, they never acknowledged the issue and just said that I would receive a call from Meredith. To date, I have not received a phone call (3 weeks). I emailed back last week explaining my disappointment with the lack of communication and customer service. Still no response. Very sad. Do not go. Do not get your dog groomed there. In response to your reply... Unfortunately, she is not telling you the truth. The groomer has never contacted me via phone, email or left a voice message. As the store owner, I would think you would want to be in the know and responsible for everything that happens in your store. Every employee and/or contractor is a reflection of your business.

Chico's Natural Pet Market Introduce
For pet owners in Alexandria, Virginia, Chico's Natural Pet Market, situated at 6464 A Lincolnia Rd, presents itself as a locally owned "Pet Store Near Me" offering a unique selection of pet supplies and, based on one negative review, grooming services. Customer feedback provides a polarized view, with one significant negative experience contrasting with a highly positive one regarding the staff and product selection. One reviewer recounts a deeply disappointing experience with Chico's and specifically with a groomer named Meredith. Initially hopeful about finding a good groomer nearby, this customer describes the grooming service they received as "the worst job." Following the unsatisfactory groom, they reached out to management via email, detailing the issues and providing photographic evidence. However, their attempts to resolve the problem were met with significant frustration. They reported not hearing back from management for almost a week. When a reply finally came, it allegedly failed to acknowledge the specific issues raised and simply stated that the customer would receive a call from Meredith. According to the reviewer, this promised call never materialized, even after three weeks. Expressing further disappointment with the lack of communication and customer service, the reviewer sent a follow-up email a week later, which also reportedly went unanswered. This negative account culminates in a strong recommendation to avoid the store altogether, particularly for grooming services. In a subsequent response to what appears to be a public reply from the store regarding this issue, the same customer vehemently disputes the store's account. They assert that the groomer never contacted them via phone, email, or voicemail, directly contradicting the store's potential claim of outreach. The reviewer emphasizes their expectation that the store owner should be aware of and responsible for all occurrences within their business, viewing every employee and contractor as a reflection of the store's reputation. This exchange paints a concerning picture of unresolved customer service issues and a potential disconnect between the store's perception and the customer's reality.
Conversely, another customer offers a glowing review, highlighting the "extremely kind, knowledgeable, and helpful staff." They describe their dog being treated exceptionally well during a visit, receiving "praises and treats" and feeling like a "celebrity." This reviewer enthusiastically recommends Chico's Natural Pet Market as a "WONDERFUL locally owned small business" with a distinctive selection of products, including treats, food, toys, and decor for a variety of pets: dogs, cats, fish, and small animals. A particularly noteworthy feature mentioned is that Chico's is "one of the only local freshwater fish selections in the area too!" This suggests that the store caters to a broader range of pet owners beyond just cats and dogs, potentially filling a niche for aquarium enthusiasts in the community. This positive review emphasizes the strengths of a small, local business: personalized attention, knowledgeable staff, and a unique product inventory that may not be found in larger chain stores.
Considering these contrasting experiences, Chico's Natural Pet Market in Alexandria, VA, appears to be a locally owned pet store with a reputation for a friendly and knowledgeable staff who provide excellent customer service in terms of product selection and general pet care advice. Their unique inventory, including a notable selection of freshwater fish supplies, suggests a commitment to catering to a diverse range of pet owners. The positive reviewer's experience indicates a welcoming environment where pets are treated well. However, the serious and unresolved negative experience with the grooming services and the subsequent lack of effective communication from management raises significant concerns that potential customers should be aware of, particularly if they are considering grooming services at this location. This introduction will further explore the likely environment of a natural pet market, the range of services offered beyond retail and potentially grooming, the key features highlighted in both positive and negative feedback, and any potential inferences about promotional activities.
As a "Natural Pet Market," the environment of Chico's likely emphasizes natural and high-quality products. One might expect to find a focus on organic, minimally processed pet foods, treats with natural ingredients, and toys made from sustainable or non-toxic materials. The store might have a more boutique feel compared to larger chain stores, with an emphasis on unique and locally sourced items. Given the mention of decor for pets, the store might also offer stylish and environmentally friendly pet accessories. The presence of a freshwater fish section suggests dedicated tanks and supplies for aquarium keeping. The positive review's description of the staff interacting warmly with pets indicates a welcoming and pet-friendly atmosphere within the store. However, the negative grooming review suggests that the grooming area, if separate, may not meet the same standards of quality or customer service as the retail side.
The services offered at Chico's Natural Pet Market likely include the retail sale of a variety of pet food, treats, toys, and supplies for dogs, cats, fish, and small animals, with a focus on natural and unique products. The negative review clearly indicates that dog grooming is also offered. The knowledgeable staff, as praised by one reviewer, likely provides advice and guidance on product selection and general pet care. The availability of a local freshwater fish selection suggests that they may offer advice and supplies specific to aquarium keeping. As a small, locally owned business, they might also offer more personalized services or be more involved in the local pet community. However, the lack of effective communication and resolution regarding the grooming complaint suggests potential limitations in their customer service protocols.
Key features of Chico's Natural Pet Market appear to be its focus on natural and unique pet products, the extremely kind and knowledgeable staff who provide excellent customer interaction on the retail side, and its specialized selection of freshwater fish supplies, catering to a niche market. The pet-friendly atmosphere, where dogs are treated like celebrities with praises and treats, is another positive feature. However, a significant negative feature is the reported poor quality of grooming services and the subsequent lack of effective communication and customer service from management in addressing complaints related to grooming.
The contrasting customer experiences at Chico's Natural Pet Market present a dilemma for potential shoppers. The positive review strongly recommends the store for its friendly and knowledgeable staff and unique product selection, particularly for those interested in natural pet supplies and freshwater fish. The welcoming treatment of pets in the store is also a significant draw. However, the unresolved and severely negative experience with the grooming services and the lack of responsive customer service regarding this issue should give pet owners pause, especially if they are considering grooming for their pets at this location. It highlights a potential inconsistency in the quality of services offered within the same business.
Promotional information is not explicitly mentioned in the provided reviews. Small, locally owned businesses like Chico's Natural Pet Market might promote their unique product selections or new arrivals through social media or local advertising. They might also offer loyalty programs for repeat customers or special discounts on certain brands of natural pet food. Given the mention of a freshwater fish selection, they might have promotions related to aquarium setups or fish food. To learn about any current promotions, specific product offerings, or the grooming services (and any improvements made based on feedback), local pet owners in Alexandria are encouraged to contact Chico's Natural Pet Market directly at (202) 243-8484 or +1 202-243-8484 or visit their location at 6464 A Lincolnia Rd.
In conclusion, Chico's Natural Pet Market in Alexandria, VA, offers a unique selection of natural pet products and a notably friendly and knowledgeable staff on the retail side, along with a specialized freshwater fish section. The welcoming atmosphere for pets is also a plus. However, the reported severely negative experience with the grooming services and the subsequent lack of effective customer service in addressing the complaint are significant concerns that potential customers should consider. While the retail experience seems positive, caution is advised regarding their grooming services until there is evidence of improved quality and customer service in this area.

Apr 23, 2024 · Lisa BurnhamExtremely kind, knowledgeable, and helpful staff. My dog was treated like a celebrity on his visit there, showered with praises and treats. One of the only local freshwater fish selections in the area too!

Dec 15, 2021 · Detective TwistDO NOT SHOP HERE!!! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!. If i could give a -5 star review i would. 1 star is way too much. I decided to check it out to try and support a local small business but the experience went south really quick. Female Employee that “assisted” me quickly decided that only her opinion matters when it comes to the care of any pet. And after a few seconds of meeting me…she decided that I was a horrible owner. I asked for an explanation of certain items and all she did was go on a rant about her opinions on pet care and what pets should not be sold. Id show her how my dog is living his best life but i honestly never wanna see her again. Zero customer service skills and zero common sense of how to talk to people.
Apr 29, 2024 · Miklo RomeroClean, organized and ethical store. If you have an aquarium and need a Local Fish Store (LFS) give Chico's a try. Great selection of fish, shrimp and snails. They have Multiple types of shrimp if you're like to diversify you're population. They have a nano tank section as well.
