if I could give Dr. Stan and his team 10 Stars I would. The care and compassion they have shown for my Great Dane. since he's been a patient there has been amazing. it's hard to find a vet that does well with big dogs, however, Dr Stan was wonderful and very caring with our big guy. look no further for any of your vet needs in Florence than this clinic.

Welcome to Southern Paws Animal Medical Center
Located at 2230 W Jody Rd, Florence, SC 29501, USA, Southern Paws Animal Medical Center stands out as a highly recommended "Pet Hospital" serving the local community with exceptional veterinary care. This facility is a go-to destination for pet owners seeking comprehensive and compassionate services for their beloved animals. You can contact them directly by phone at (843) 326-4553 or via mobile at +1 843-326-4553. Their commitment to excellence, coupled with a genuine love for animals, has garnered them glowing reviews from satisfied clients.
While specific details about the physical layout are not provided in the testimonials, the overwhelming sentiment conveyed by clients points to an exceptionally positive and welcoming environment. The reviews highlight the "care and compassion" shown by the entire team, from the "front desk to vet techs and the Doctors." This suggests a cohesive and empathetic atmosphere that puts both pets and their owners at ease. For a "Pet Hospital," creating a stress-reducing environment is paramount. This typically involves a clean and well-maintained facility, comfortable waiting areas, and examination rooms designed to be calm and secure for animals of all sizes and temperaments. The fact that clients emphasize the "patience and attention" given to their "furbaby" indicates a gentle and considerate approach within the clinic's setting. The ability of the team to handle diverse needs, such as large dogs and deaf dogs, further implies an adaptable and understanding environment tailored to individual pet requirements.
As a leading "Pet Hospital," Southern Paws Animal Medical Center offers a comprehensive range of veterinary services designed to ensure the health, well-being, and longevity of pets. While a complete list of services isn't explicitly detailed in the provided reviews, the nature of the testimonials strongly suggests a broad spectrum of care. Based on the experiences shared by clients, one can infer the availability of:
- General Wellness and Preventative Care: Routine check-ups, vaccinations, parasite control, and nutritional counseling are foundational services expected from any reputable pet hospital. The long-term care for a Great Dane implies a commitment to ongoing health management.
- Specialized Care for Large Breeds: A particularly significant feature highlighted is their exceptional ability to handle "big dogs." One client explicitly states, "it's hard to find a vet that does well with big dogs, however, Dr Stan was wonderful and very caring with our big guy." This indicates specialized knowledge, equipment, or handling techniques tailored for larger breeds, which is a crucial differentiator for owners of Great Danes, Mastiffs, and other large dogs.
- Compassionate Care for Special Needs Pets: The mention of "Dr. Ryan is wonderful with my sweet deaf boxer Daisy" demonstrates their expertise and patience in caring for pets with sensory impairments or other special needs. This level of individualized attention is invaluable for owners of unique pets.
- Diagnostic Services: While not specifically mentioned, a modern "Pet Hospital" would typically offer in-house diagnostics such as blood work, urinalysis, and potentially imaging (X-rays, ultrasound) to accurately diagnose conditions and formulate treatment plans.
- Medical and Surgical Treatments: As a medical center, they would undoubtedly provide treatments for various illnesses and injuries, which could include minor surgical procedures, wound care, and medication management.
- Client Education and Support: The positive interactions and the emphasis on the team's attentiveness suggest that they likely spend time educating pet owners on their pet's health and care needs.
The ability of multiple doctors, such as Dr. Stan, Dr. Ryan, and Dr. Mary, to provide consistent, high-quality care across various patient types speaks to the depth and breadth of their veterinary services.
Southern Paws Animal Medical Center stands out due to several key features that resonate deeply with its clientele:
- Exceptional Team-Wide Compassion: The reviews repeatedly emphasize the "care and compassion" exhibited by "everyone from front desk to vet techs and the Doctors." This holistic approach to empathy ensures a positive experience for both pets and their owners at every touchpoint. It indicates a culture of kindness and understanding within the entire organization.
- Expertise with Diverse Pet Needs: Their ability to excel with "big dogs" (like a Great Dane) and special needs pets (like a "deaf boxer") is a significant distinguishing factor. This demonstrates specialized training, patience, and a tailored approach to veterinary medicine that goes beyond standard care, making them particularly appealing to owners of such animals. Dr. Stan's success with large breeds and Dr. Ryan's wonderful care for a deaf dog are specific examples of this expertise.
- Dedicated and Charming Veterinarians: The individual praise for Dr. Stan, Dr. Ryan, and Dr. Mary highlights the quality of their veterinary staff. Clients express strong bonds and trust, with one noting, "she saw Dr. Mary for the first time and was instantly charmed with her." This personal connection and the veterinarians' ability to connect with animals are crucial for building long-term client relationships.
- Client-Centric Approach: The expression of happiness that they "accepted new clients!!" indicates that Southern Paws Animal Medical Center is a sought-after clinic, and their willingness to welcome new members into their care community is appreciated by the public. This suggests a growing practice that values expanding its service to more pets in Florence.
- Trust and Recommendation: The strong endorsement, "look no further for any of your vet needs in Florence than this clinic," speaks volumes about the high level of trust and satisfaction clients place in Southern Paws Animal Medical Center. Such unequivocal recommendations are the strongest form of promotion a business can receive.
While explicit promotional campaigns are not detailed, the very nature of the positive customer reviews serves as powerful, organic promotion for Southern Paws Animal Medical Center. When clients feel compelled to give "10 Stars" and declare they would "look no further," it generates invaluable word-of-mouth referrals within the Florence community. The specific examples of their care for large dogs and special needs pets also act as targeted promotion, attracting owners facing similar challenges who are actively seeking specialized veterinary attention. The fact that they are "happy they accepted new clients" suggests that they are actively growing and welcoming new members to their practice, which in itself is a form of outreach. A clinic with such a strong foundation of positive client experiences naturally fosters a loyal customer base and attracts new ones through reputation. Their dedication to providing compassionate and skilled care is their most compelling promotional asset.

May 22, 2025 · Roger PolskyEveryone from front desk to vet techs and the Doctors are amazing! I love the patience and attention given to my furbaby! Dr. Ryan is wonderful with my sweet deaf boxer Daisy, and she saw Dr. Mary for the first time and was instantly charmed with her. I am so happy they accepted new clients!!
Feb 06, 2025 · FranMy husband and I have been with them since they were West Side and they open. The doors couldn’t ask for better vets prices were great, but most importantly they were wonderful with all our animals however, since they change the name and have new vets, their prices are shocking I spent almost $400 For a usual check up and what’s more disappointing is they charge $15 for a nail clip what was always free and didn’t even have the decency to ask we charge for nail clips now do you still want us to do it? The vet was amazing, but in all the years we’ve been with them, I have never spent almost $400 on one visit not even in three Shame !!
May 14, 2025 · angel russDr. Mary Andrews is amazing. She takes her time to thoroughly assess & ensure my pets are comfortable throughout their exam, shots, any uncomfortable procedures. She is extremely personable/very friendly. I would recommend Dr. Mary to anyone looking for a vet who cares about their fur babies as well as their owners. I can’t say enough positive things about her. She is a great addition to the Westside Vet team.
