We have been taking our cats to Pittsboro Veterinary for several years. We have one cat who is medically fragile, having severe asthma and required bladder stone surgery last year. A vet asst who has been there for years, jokingly refers to her as the “Million Dollar Cat”. They have helped us keep her alive with their care and also knowing when to refer her to specialists. The veterinary assistant, who is very knowledgeable, recommended that we change her litter to Dr Elsey’s Respiratory Relief litter, and that was a game changer. We also have a couple of other inside pet cats and a 25 cat feral colony that chose us, for some reason, that we try to take care of. We live in a rural area where people dump animals, or let feral cats continuously breed on their property, believing they won’t kill rodents if they are spayed/neutered, which is a myth. Some just don’t prioritize reducing the feral population like we do. We have trapped and spayed/neutered all of the ones on our property, and we spend a fortune feeding them, providing them with shelters and getting veterinary care when needed (if we can catch them). Pittsboro Veterinary has been very helpful when we’ve needed help with any of the feral cats by working them in, knowing that it is difficult to trap them and get them there at a certain time. They have compassionately and emergently put a few of them to sleep for us when they were sick and suffering, and given us discounts because they appreciate that we are caring for all of these cats. They communicate well and always call me back with test results or information. I appreciate Pittsboro Veterinary Clinic very much and highly recommend them. I’ve included a couple of pics of “The Million Dollar Cat” for your enjoyment. We know that she wouldn’t still be with us without the care she’s received at Pittsboro Veterinary has given her for almost 8 years now, when we didn’t think we’d have her for more than 4-5 years. She was found abandoned on our property at around 2 weeks old, and is a very special pet to us. I think you can see why we want to keep her going for as long as we can.

Dr Hill and the entire staff are so kind and professional. We brought our dog Jude in over 5 years thinking it was time to put her down. She stopped eating, going potty and doing normal things. We mentioned to Dr Hill we didn’t have a lot of money. She was so kind to work around our situation. We’re were sent home with 3-4 new medications and Jude made a complete turn around. This amazing staff would move mountains to make sure Jude didn’t go a day without meds even if we slipped up and ordered a refill last minute. Five years later, Jude is 16-17 yrs at this point and it was truly her time to go. We were thankful for their kindness and compassion through the whole process. A month after my dog passed we got the sweetest most thoughtful piece of mail from Purdue University. Pittsboro Veterinary Clinic had made a donation in Jude’s name and memory to the Veterinary School. We were incredibly touched. They loved and treated our Jude like their own and we will forever be grateful! Thank you Dr Hill and the entire staff!!

We have been going to this Vet for over 20 years. They have always done a great job with our dogs. Recently we have to have a growth removed from our dogs neck. They quoted almost $500. After the procedure they only charged us $280. They are always fair with pricing. Our dog is doing great.

The Veterinarian, Technician and staff adjusted their already full day of appointments to make time to help my beloved Tiger Kitty cross the rainbow bridge. They were all wonderful and caring to Tiger and me during this sad process. And I received a check-in call from the Veterinarian later in the day. A very caring place.
