Rachel, a knowledgeable staff member in the reptile department, exhibited a genuine interest in the welfare of the animals being sold such as making sure we knew about lighting etc , asking relevant these questions and ensuring necessary supplies were on hand as well as making other helpful recommendations. The store is always clean when we come in and the animals and fish always look healthy and are well cared for .

The young lady Rachel that checked me out provided the most professional customer service and great advice for my sons first Hamster! Truly an unforgettable experience. We will be back! She will one day make a phenomenal manager.

The store is well stocked. However, I had my Bernedoodle groomed and they totally ignored how I wanted her done. They clipped her body flat despite being told to only trim 1" off her 4-5 inch long coat. One ear is nearly 2 inches longer that the other and her face is very chopped. All the feathers are gone from her legs. the store manager did comp her grooming fee so at least I didn't have to pay for the mess that the groomer made!

I would strongly advise against taking your dog to this Petco for grooming UNLESS you want your pet returned a bloody butchered mess. Here’s what happened: we drop off our dog, Layla, for a grooming appointment. About an hour later, we get a call saying Layla is being taken to Middletown for emergency care. When we asked what happened, the woman on the phone refused to tell us. We were left terrified, wondering if she had cut a major artery, if she was bleeding out, or if another dog attacked her. We were told the general manager would meet us at the animal hospital to explain what happened. The drive to Middletown was about 30 minutes, and while I don’t mind the distance, what I can’t forgive is the total lack of information during that time. My mom called Petco again, but all she got was voicemail. So, I called next and finally got through to someone, only to be met with dismissiveness. The woman on the phone once again refused to provide any details and acted as if it was unreasonable for me to ask whether my dog was alive. When we finally arrived at the emergency clinic, we were told they had razored her tongue, causing a lot of bleeding, which is why she needed to be examined. Layla ended up being fine, but when we got home, we noticed cuts all over her stomach. Layla is a 10-year-old dog, not a rambunctious puppy, so I don’t understand how she ended up so cut up from what should’ve been a simple grooming appointment. As compensation for abusing/traumatizing our dog, they offered us the grooming for free. Thanks Petco also the haircut sucks.

They where assuming my age and the male worker asked me if I had anyone with me... RUDE! I'm 25 years old! They wouldn't let me buy a fish bc I didn't know the exact size of my tank. they REFUSED me any fish but a guppie.after I said I was going to get a bigger tank. I just didn't want to spend the money you people charge for tanks when I have people who have some I could use! When they keep fish in cups and tiny tanks. And half of them are dead anyway! That's why I had such trouble finding a fish I liked in the first place!
