-
Separate Areas for Large and Small Dogs: A highly valued feature of Tierra Buena Dog Park is its intelligent design, which includes distinct, fully fenced sections for large dogs and small dogs. This separation is crucial for safety and comfort, allowing smaller breeds to play without intimidation from larger, more boisterous dogs, and giving bigger dogs ample space to run freely. This thoughtful layout contributes significantly to a positive experience for all.
-
Fully Fenced Off-Leash Areas: Both the large and small dog sections are securely fenced, providing a safe environment for dogs to play and socialize without the need for a leash. This freedom is essential for dogs to expend energy and interact naturally with their peers.
-
Water Fountains for Dogs: The park is equipped with water fountains designed for canine use, allowing dogs to stay hydrated during their playtime. While there have been reports of these not always being operational, the intention is to provide easy access to fresh water within or near the fenced areas. It is always a good idea to bring your own water and a bowl as a backup.
-
Pet Waste Stations with Bags: To promote cleanliness and responsible pet ownership, the park provides dispensers with dog waste bags and waste receptacles. This amenity makes it easy for owners to pick up after their pets, which is vital for maintaining a hygienic environment for all park users.
-
Open Spaces for Running and Play: The park offers plenty of open field space, ideal for games of fetch, chasing, and general running. This vast area allows dogs to truly stretch their legs and engage in vigorous exercise.

Generally Friendly Dog Population: The dogs at Tierra Buena are often described as friendly and well-socialized, which contributes to harmonious interactions and enjoyable play sessions for all canine attendees.
-
Obstacle Structures: While simple, the presence of obstacle structures within the park adds an element of mental and physical stimulation for the dogs. These can include ramps or other agility-style features that encourage playful exploration.
-
Limited Shaded Areas and Seating: While shade might be limited, there are often some trees and seating options available for pet parents to rest and observe their dogs. It's always advisable to consider bringing your own portable shade or chair for extended stays, especially during peak sunny hours in El Paso.

Nice dog park. Has big and small dog sides. Dogs are generally very friendly. Water fountains (but they were not working today). Dog owners are responsible and not tons of poo everywhere!!
Dec 01, 2024 · Wendy JohnsonThis dog park is perfect. My poodle and Husky have a great time running, playing and socializing with other dogs. Bring a bowl for water, so you do not have to take your dog to the fountain outside the gate. Also, bring poop bags and keep the park clean. Your dogs will love it and you will too, because they will be worn out and ready for bed.
May 17, 2019 · salsero92The dog park was a pretty good size and had plenty of room for my doggo to run and play. Not the parks fault but apparently people don't follow the rules to pick up after their pets a lot of droppings in and around the park. The park had bags available for people to follow their rules even if they didn't come prepare. Signs are placed around the park indicating their rules to include city rules.
Sep 18, 2020 · NOMO-BROTHERS MontionGreat place to let my dog run around and have fun with his friends! I love that there are small and medium/large areas for the dogs. The gates are very secure and there’s plenty of room to run about!
