This is a beautiful and really big dog park. Really nice people as well. From what I heard today you just have to watch out for rattlesnakes in the warmer months. Just make sure you do a perimeter check and a check of the grounds before you let your dog off the leash. Great place to go.

Features / Highlights
  • Spacious and Beautiful Grounds: A recurring highlight from visitors is how "beautiful and really big" San Dimas Dog Park is. This ample space allows dogs to truly stretch their legs, engage in vigorous play, and explore without feeling confined. The presence of "lush grass" (when not undergoing winter maintenance) further enhances its aesthetic appeal and provides a comfortable surface for play, setting it apart from many other dog parks.

  • Thoughtful Size Separation: The park's design includes "separate fenced play area for Big Dogs and Small Dogs." This is a critical feature that greatly contributes to the safety and enjoyment of all visitors. It ensures that smaller, more vulnerable dogs can play without being overwhelmed by larger, more boisterous canines, fostering a more harmonious environment.

  • Clean and Organized Environment: Visitors consistently praise the park for being "so clean and very organized." This commitment to maintenance is vital for public spaces, particularly dog parks, ensuring a hygienic and pleasant experience for both pets and their owners. A clean park encourages responsible behavior and enhances overall enjoyment.

  • Essential Amenities: The park provides fundamental conveniences that make visits more enjoyable. These include readily available "water fountains" for thirsty pups, "benches" and "picnic areas" for owners to rest, and "restrooms" for public use. These amenities contribute to a comfortable and stress-free outing.

  • Safety Considerations (Rattlesnakes): While not a highlight in the traditional sense, the candid feedback about "watching out for rattlesnakes in the warmer months" and advising a "perimeter check and a check of the grounds" before unleashing is a valuable feature of local knowledge shared. This indicates awareness and a proactive approach by informed locals, ensuring visitors are prepared and vigilant, especially in natural California environments.

  • Winter Maintenance: The practice of closing the park for "a few weeks" in winter for "maintenance" and during and after rain demonstrates a commitment to long-term care and quality. While it may mean temporary closures, it results in a better, safer, and more enjoyable park for the majority of the year, ensuring the grass and facilities remain in top condition.

Love the park. Clean. Nice dogs around. Green grass, and working drinking water for the dogs. Be careful though, for the first time in so many visits a pack of coyotes were near the small dog area.

Beautiful grassy dog park. Limited seating. In the small dog area there are 2 park benches and one picnic table. But there are beautiful mature trees for shade and you could bring your own folding chairs. Highly recommend this gorgeous park.

One of our favorite parks! Lots of space in both Big Dog Side and Small Dog Side with grass. Great for fetch! The tails outside the dog park are great for small hikes.
