Took my lil guy here to get some exercise and interact with other dogs. It was his first time at a dog park and he loved it. He made a few friends and even got to play with another Frenchie that looked so much like his he could have been his brother. The park is the perfect size not huge but just right. There were quite a few dogs there (big and small all well behaved. I I noticed that most people didn’t even bother to park their cars in the parking garage. They just parked on the back road near the park. Which I didn’t know about. The park has two entrances one on each side double gated for safety meaning you wouldn’t have to worry about your dog getting out because they’d have to get out through the second gate. everyone was friendly inside of the park area where some benches. There’s a water hose with water bowls and a waste station. All in all I’d say it was a great day. Definitely will be back.

The Ridge Hill Dog Park, nestled within the vibrant Ridge Hill complex at 22 Lembo Street, Yonkers, NY 10710, offers exactly that. This park isn't just a patch of grass; it's a thoughtfully designed environment where dogs can truly express their natural behaviors – from exhilarating zoomies to joyful interactions with new friends. It serves as a vital community hub for New York pet parents who understand the crucial role that regular exercise and positive social interaction play in their dogs' overall health and happiness.

The Ridge Hill Dog Park stands out as a premier destination for dogs in the New York region due to its strategic location and excellent amenities. In a bustling urban and suburban landscape, dedicated off-leash areas are invaluable for allowing dogs to thrive. This park provides a secure and welcoming atmosphere where dogs of all sizes can enjoy much-needed freedom. Its inclusion within the larger Ridge Hill shopping and dining complex adds a unique convenience, allowing pet owners to combine a fun outing for their dog with other errands or leisure activities. The positive feedback from visitors, highlighting the friendly atmosphere and well-behaved dogs, speaks volumes about the quality of the park and the community it attracts. For New Yorkers committed to their dogs' well-being, the Ridge Hill Dog Park offers a reliable and enjoyable solution for daily exercise and socialization.

The Ridge Hill Dog Park is ideally located at the South Lawn of the Ridge Hill complex, adjacent to Whole Foods, at 22 Lembo Street, Yonkers, NY 10710, USA. This centralized position within the popular Ridge Hill shopping and entertainment destination makes it exceptionally accessible for residents of Yonkers, as well as those coming from other parts of Westchester County and even New York City.

Accessibility is a key advantage:

  • Parking: While there is a parking garage at Ridge Hill, many visitors note the convenience of parking on the back road near the park. Ridge Hill also offers a QR-based parking platform called TEXT2PARK for easy payment and movement throughout the property. The first 30 minutes are free, with tiered pricing for longer stays.

  • Proximity to Amenities: Being part of Ridge Hill means easy access to shops, restaurants, and other facilities, allowing owners to run errands or grab a bite before or after their dog's playtime.

  • Major Road Access: Ridge Hill is easily reachable via major roadways, including I-87 N (NYS Thruway) with a direct exit (6A) onto Ridge Hill Blvd, making it a convenient drive for many New York residents.

This excellent location and accessibility contribute significantly to the park's popularity, ensuring that New York dog owners can easily integrate visits into their busy schedules.

The Ridge Hill Dog Park provides a focused set of services to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for dogs and their owners:

  • Fenced Off-Leash Play Areas: The primary service is offering dedicated, fully fenced spaces where dogs can run freely without a leash, promoting essential exercise and mental stimulation.

  • Separate Sections for Dog Sizes: The park is thoughtfully divided into two distinct areas: one for large dogs and another for smaller dogs. This separation enhances safety and allows dogs to play comfortably with companions of similar size and energy levels.

  • Water Access: A crucial amenity, the park provides a water hose with water bowls, allowing owners to keep their dogs hydrated, particularly during warmer weather or after vigorous play.

  • Waste Stations: To encourage responsible pet ownership and maintain cleanliness, waste stations equipped with dog clean-up bags are available at the entrance, making it easy for owners to pick up after their pets.

The Ridge Hill Dog Park boasts several key features and highlights that make it a top choice for New York dog owners:

  • Perfect Size: Customer reviews consistently praise the park for being "the perfect size – not huge but just right." This indicates a balance, offering ample space for dogs to run while still feeling manageable and secure.

  • Double-Gated Entrances: For enhanced safety and peace of mind, the park features double-gated entrances on both sides. This design prevents dogs from accidentally slipping out when other visitors are entering or exiting.

  • Well-Behaved Dog Community: Visitors frequently note that the dogs (both big and small) within the park are "all well behaved." This speaks to the positive atmosphere and potentially to the responsible nature of the regular users.

  • Friendly Atmosphere: Beyond the dogs, the human visitors are also described as "very friendly people," fostering a welcoming and communal environment for pet owners.

  • On-Site Amenities: The presence of benches within the park area allows owners to sit and relax while their dogs play. The availability of a water hose and waste bags further enhances convenience.

  • Artificial Turf: While not explicitly stated in the provided reviews, some external information suggests that the Ridge Hill Dog Park may feature artificial turf, which would mean "less dirt, more clean fun" for pups and their owners, a significant advantage in terms of cleanliness and reducing muddy paws.

  • Open Dawn to Dusk: The park is accessible from dawn until dusk, providing a wide window of opportunity for visits throughout the day.

As a public amenity within the Ridge Hill complex, the Ridge Hill Dog Park does not typically offer commercial "promotions" or "special offers" in the traditional retail sense. Access to the dog park itself is generally free for all visitors and their dogs, adhering to the standard rules and regulations set by Ridge Hill Management.

However, the "promotions" for such a facility lie in the invaluable benefits it provides:

  • Free Public Access: The most significant "offer" is the complimentary access to a well-maintained, secure, and amenity-rich off-leash dog park. This provides a cost-effective solution for New York pet owners seeking dedicated exercise space.

  • Integrated Experience: Being part of Ridge Hill, the dog park offers the "promotion" of convenience. Visitors can combine a trip to the dog park with shopping, dining, or other activities within the complex, maximizing their outing.

  • Community Building: While not a formal promotion, the park naturally facilitates social interaction among local dog owners, fostering a supportive community and opportunities for informal playdates.

Any "special offers" related to Ridge Hill as a whole (such as parking deals or tenant promotions) might indirectly benefit dog park visitors. It's always a good idea to check the main Ridge Hill website for overall property promotions and events.

Nice new dog run with two entrances, with double doors for safety. Benches on either end and a stainless steel bowl for water. Wood chips on the ground make for a less muddy visit than some parks. There's a parking garage but a lot of people park illegally right near the park. I've never seen anyone giving out tickets there. The only downside is in the summer there's absolutely zero shade so bring a good hat or an umbrella. Also, there's a water spout for the garden right next to the dog park but it seems as though the water's been turned off for the winter.

My dog loves it here alot. There's no shade however they go have a small community garden and also provide water for dogs with a few tennis balls for the pups. Everyone is super friendly and nice.
