Such a nice little park rest spot! Really felt the whole Coveed era was behind us as I enjoyed the company of real human beings outside listening to sweet smooth Jazz. The Michael Haggins Band soothed our senses that day. Hopefully, the attached schedule shows there's more to come at The Playhouse Village!

Unlike vast, open fields, the Playhouse Village Dog Runs provide a more intimate and secure environment, perfectly suited for urban living.
The dog runs are specifically designed with canine needs in mind, featuring separate, gated areas for both large and small dogs. This crucial separation helps ensure a safer and more comfortable play experience for all pups, allowing smaller breeds to romp without intimidation and larger dogs to stretch their legs appropriately. Reviews from local users highlight the convenience and cleanliness of the park, noting it as a "nice little park rest spot" and appreciating the presence of a "gated place big enough for the dog to run off leash." Beyond just the physical space, its integration into the vibrant Playhouse Village means visitors often enjoy the lively atmosphere of the surrounding area, including occasional community events like jazz concerts, making it a truly engaging destination for both pets and their owners.

Being part of a newly constructed urban park, the dog runs are well-integrated with lighted pathways, ensuring safe access even during early morning or evening hours. The park is also highly walkable for those living in the dense downtown Pasadena area, providing a much-needed green space within easy reach. The gated entrances to both the large and small dog areas further enhance accessibility by providing clear, secure entry points, ensuring a smooth and controlled transition for dogs entering and exiting the off-leash zones. This combination of central location, dedicated parking, and thoughtful design makes Playhouse Village Dog Runs highly convenient and user-friendly for all local dog owners.

Its primary "promotion" is the provision of a free, publicly accessible, and well-maintained space for canine recreation and socialization.
The inherent "special offer" of the Playhouse Village Dog Runs lies in the high quality of its facilities and the value they provide to the community at no direct cost to users. This includes the dedicated, securely fenced areas for both large and small dogs, ensuring a safer and more appropriate play environment. The availability of water stations, waste bag dispensers, and ample lighting for evening use are continuous benefits that enhance every visit. Furthermore, the convenience of on-site parking within an urban setting is a significant value proposition that adds to the park's appeal.
While there are no monetary promotions, the park's integration into the lively Playhouse Village Park means visitors often benefit from community-wide events. For instance, the Playhouse Village Association hosts events like "Bark in the Park: Howl-o-ween," which includes dog costume contests, treat stations, and other fun activities for dogs and humans. Additionally, the park's stage area occasionally hosts cultural events like outdoor jazz concerts, which, while not directly dog-park specific, contribute to the enjoyable ambiance for visitors. Locals are encouraged to check the City of Pasadena's Parks, Recreation and Community Services website or the Playhouse Village Association's calendar for announcements regarding such free community events that enhance the park experience. These community initiatives serve as their own form of "special offer," enriching the lives of local dog owners.
For inquiries regarding the Playhouse Village Dog Runs, its facilities, rules, or any other information related to the park's management and services, you should contact the City of Pasadena's Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department.

Jun 03, 2024 · Tuck PorterIt's nice to have a gated place big enough for the dog to run off leash. I wish there were more little spots like this attached to parks.
Apr 19, 2025 · Kenny KrezelGlad this is called a run and not a park. It's a small fenced area filled with sand. I would consider it more of a dog relief area than much else.
Dec 22, 2024 · Brogan RossHardly a dog “park”, and more of a large dog run. Benches at either end. About 80 feet long and 25 feet wide, sandy area with secure fencing around it. Clean area, poop bags & disposal bin available, and large parking lot is connected. Be sure to bring a ball or a toy to throw for your dog - not many dogs here for interaction/playing. Probably best for people meeting other people with dogs. Good, safe area for a small get-together with dogs you know. Playground for kids, picnic tables & restroom nearby - but not connected (or visible to) the dog run.
Dec 19, 2023 · Leslie LindholmThis isn’t a dog park. It’s so small my dogs have no room to even run. It’s ridiculous. This project was a joke and a waste of money. They should expand maybe remove the parking lot or that grass area is a waste of space that could’ve been applied to the dog park. The whole this is so dumb. No one even uses it.
