Beautiful Walking Path, but Room for Improvement Overpeck Park is a well-maintained gem in New Jersey, especially for those who love a good walk. The walking path is perfectly flat and clear of any obstructions — ideal for a relaxing stroll or a brisk walk. However, as a dog owner, I was disappointed to find the dog park under construction. It would have been helpful to know this ahead of time, as I parked and walked all the way there only to find it closed. The restrooms could also use some attention. They were outdated, not very clean, and the women’s restroom had no soap available. That said, the walking path alone makes this park worth visiting. It’s peaceful, scenic, and truly a standout spot in the area. With some improvements to communication about closures and restroom upkeep, Overpeck Park could easily earn five stars.

This is a highly valued public service that enhances the quality of life for countless pet owners in Bergen County.
However, the "promotional" aspect comes from its inherent value and community contributions:
- Free Public Access: The most significant "offer" is that the dog park, when fully operational, is entirely free to use for all licensed and vaccinated dogs, making it an equitable resource for a wide range of residents.
- Enhanced Quality of Life: By providing a dedicated space for exercise and socialization, the park directly contributes to the physical and mental well-being of local dogs and, by extension, the happiness of their owners. This is a valuable, intangible "benefit."
- Community Building: The park naturally serves as a meeting point for local dog owners, fostering social connections and a sense of community among pet parents who share a common love for their animals.

Mar 12, 2025 · Alyson SavinoNO FENCE! Under construction. Unclear if it will return. Can walk on path and people had dogs off leash fetching balls.
Mar 04, 2025 · Karen BarkerI brought my two littles ones today and I absolutely love how big the park is.
Feb 20, 2021 · JacquelineNice place to bring your dogs, they have separate big dog and small dog play areas. Path leading to the entrance can get boggy when wet
Jan 05, 2021 · Kevin ChenThere are two areas to separate small and large dogs. Mostly had a good time but someone brought their aggressive and clearly too large dog into the small dog area and harassed mine. This might have been ok except the owner did not remove the dog until it harassed my dog three separate times when I tried to put her back down. Not the parks' fault and a risk at any dog park but some owners just are not responsible enough. There was a cute little fake fire hydrant, a couple benches and a dog bag dispenser on the large dog area which could be reached from the small dog area over the fence.
