This prime Upper Manhattan location makes it highly accessible for residents of Washington Heights, Inwood, and other uptown neighborhoods, as well as visitors from further afield in the five boroughs. Fort Tryon Park itself is a magnificent green oasis, renowned for its stunning views of the Hudson River and the Palisades, medieval-style architecture of The Cloisters, and beautifully manicured gardens.

Accessing the dog run is relatively straightforward, with pathways leading into the park from various points. Services Offered: Designed for Canine Comfort and Safety

Sir William's Dog Run is thoughtfully designed to cater to the needs of its diverse canine visitors and their owners, offering several key amenities:

  • Two Separate Fenced Areas: A crucial safety feature, the dog run includes distinct, fully fenced sections. One area is specifically designated for dogs under 25 lbs, while the other accommodates larger dogs. This separation minimizes potential conflict and ensures safer, more appropriate play for all sizes and energy levels.
  • Well-Maintained Grounds: The run is described as "well maintained," indicating regular upkeep of the physical space. The ground material consists of dirt and woodchips, which, while leading to "muddy feet" after rain, is a common and generally safe surface for dog play, providing good drainage and cushioning.
  • Picnic Tables for Owners: For the comfort of human companions, picnic tables are available in each separate dog area. This allows owners to sit, relax, and supervise their dogs in comfort, fostering a more relaxed and enjoyable visit.
  • Community Board and Garbage Cans: The presence of a community board suggests active engagement and information sharing among park users, while ample garbage cans are provided for convenient waste disposal, promoting cleanliness.

Well maintained dog run in the beautiful Fort Tryon park. There are two separate areas, one for dogs under 25lbs and one for larger dogs. No water fountains/pumps so bring your own. Picnic tables in each area for the humans! Dirt/woodchips so expect your pup to get muddy feet!

Reminded me of the dog park in union square, it is so lively and full of doggies. Encountered about ten different dogs in a span of an hour. Absolutely love this location. Not to mention it is large.

An awesome and large dog run. There are two runs. One for smaller dogs and one for large. In a beautiful setting too. Would be even better if there was a water fountain near by. A great experience!

It's great to see the dogs run and play. I feel that there should be some dog tunnels for the dogs. But a great place
