I can't say enough about how great OutRun Dogs is! Found Dave (the owner) to be very professional and wonderful with our old and rather cranky little pup. They got lots of exercise every day and our dog just loved him! Great communication and fun photos. I would say that Dave took better care of our dog than I do, and that is saying a lot! I recommend Dave and OutRun Dogs without reservation. We had an excellent experience, and our dog is hoping that we leave town again soon, lol!

Services Offered

OutRun Dogs offers a diverse range of services that extend far beyond simply providing a place for your dog to run. Under the ownership of Dave, an experienced professional dog trainer (an AKC Canine Good Citizen evaluator and American Herding Breed Association judge), the focus is on holistic canine care, training, and enrichment. Here's a breakdown of their primary services:

  • Private Dog Park Rental: A key offering is the ability to rent a private, fully fenced acre dog park. This allows for exclusive, uninterrupted playtime for your dog(s) and any invited friends, ideal for reactive dogs, multi-dog households, or those seeking a quiet environment.
  • Professional Dog Training: OutRun Dogs specializes in calm and quiet dog training based on communication. They offer:
    • Private Training Classes: Personalized, one-on-one sessions tailored to specific behavioral concerns (e.g., pulling on walks, aggression, anxiety, reactivity) or obedience goals.
    • Puppy Basics Classes: Structured group classes (typically small groups) for puppies aged 8 weeks to 7 months, focusing on foundational skills, socialization, and house-training.
    • Teen/Adult Dog Basics Classes: Group classes covering fundamental obedience skills like sit, down, come, heel, and stay.
    • Leash Basics, Obedience, Recall Classes: Specialized classes to improve leash manners and reliable recall.
    • Reactive Dog Rehabilitation Programs: Dedicated programs to help dogs overcome reactivity issues.
    • Service Dog Training: Specialized training for service animals, including for military veterans.
  • Dog Boarding: They offer dog boarding services, providing a safe and comfortable environment for dogs overnight, often with individual indoor kennels (e.g., 8ft x 4ft) furnished with toys, beds, and chairs, and including daily walks/playtimes and meals.
  • Day Care / Day Socialization: A structured daycare program that balances playtime, training, and rest, with play groups limited in size for positive experiences.
  • Board and Train Programs: Intensive training programs where dogs reside at the facility for a period (e.g., 1-3 months for puppies, minimum 3 weeks for adult dogs) to receive consistent professional training.
  • Rescue and Rehabilitation Support: Preference is often given to rescue/shelter dogs in training programs, and they provide comprehensive support, including vaccinations, deworming, microchips, and spay/neuter services for adopted dogs.
  • Water Access in Dog Park: The private dog park rental typically includes fresh water availability for dogs, often with buckets or even a small pool/tub for cooling off.
  • Shade Trees and Picnic Tables in Dog Park: The rented private space is equipped with shade trees and picnic tables for human comfort.
Features / Highlights

The unique blend of services and the thoughtful design of the facility are the true highlights of OutRun Dogs. These features create an environment that caters to a dog's physical, mental, and emotional needs, making it a standout choice for Oklahoma dog owners:

  • Private, Fenced Dog Park (1 Acre): The dedicated 1-acre fully fenced area available for private rental is a significant highlight. This secure space allows dogs to run, play, and explore without encountering unknown dogs, which is particularly beneficial for reactive or shy dogs, or for owners who prefer a controlled environment.
  • Secure Fencing: The fencing is described as sturdy (e.g., 4 ft cattle panels with 4”x4” squares), ensuring security, though it might not be suitable for very small dogs (under 10 lbs) or those that can jump a 4-foot fence.
  • Experienced and Professional Owner/Trainer: Dave, the owner, is a highly experienced and certified professional (AKC Canine Good Citizen evaluator, American Herding Breed Association judge, Karen Pryor Academy Certified Training Partner), bringing a wealth of knowledge and a calm, communication-based training philosophy.
  • Holistic Approach to Canine Care: Beyond just exercise, OutRun Dogs emphasizes a balanced approach including training, socialization, and rehabilitation for dogs with specific needs.
  • Comfort for Humans: The private park rental includes amenities like picnic tables and shade trees, allowing owners to relax comfortably while their dogs play.
  • Water for Dogs: Fresh water is consistently provided for dogs, with reviews mentioning buckets and even a small tub/pool for dogs to cool off in on hot days.
  • Enrichment Opportunities: Reviews mention "lots of enrichment opportunities" and "agility equipment" within the private park space, indicating a stimulating environment for dogs.
  • Focus on Communication and Positive Reinforcement: The training methods are rooted in positive reinforcement and fear-free principles, creating a humane and effective learning environment.
  • "Circular Sensitive" Runs: One review specifically highlights that "The runs are circular sensitive for dog movement…they like to curve around!", suggesting a thoughtful layout designed for canine movement patterns.
  • Great Communication: Clients consistently praise the "great communication" from Dave and his team, including fun photo updates, fostering trust and transparency.
