Services Offered
  • Off-Leash Play Area: The park provides a designated, fenced area where dogs can run and play freely without a leash, offering essential exercise and mental stimulation. It is a mulched park.
  • Single Designated Area for All Dogs: Unlike some parks with separate sections for small and large dogs, North Garner Dog Park typically features one combined area for all canine visitors. While this can sometimes mean a mix of play styles, it often fosters broader socialization among different breeds and sizes.
  • Watering Station: The park includes a watering station for dogs to hydrate during their playtime. While past reviews have noted instances where the water might not be working (potentially due to being shut off seasonally or for maintenance), a watering station is a designed amenity. It is always a good idea for visitors to bring their own water and a portable bowl as a backup.
  • Benches: For human companions, benches are available within the park. These provide a convenient spot for owners to sit and relax while supervising their dogs.
  • Trash Receptacles: To encourage cleanliness and responsible pet ownership, trash cans are provided for the disposal of dog waste and other litter.
  • Etiquette Signage: The park features an etiquette sign, outlining rules and guidelines for park users to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.

Features / Highlights
  • Mulched Surface: North Garner Dog Park features a mulched surface. This can be beneficial for paw comfort and drainage, especially after rain, although it might differ from grass parks.
  • Access to Miles of Trails: A significant highlight of this park is its location within Garner Recreational Park, which offers "miles of beautiful trails in the woods." This provides an excellent opportunity for on-leash walks and extended outdoor adventures before or after off-leash play in the dog park itself.
  • Community "Regulars": Despite its size, the park is known to have "regulars" who visit around lunch and after work. This fosters a friendly, familiar atmosphere and provides consistent opportunities for dogs to socialize with familiar playmates.
  • Clean and Good-Sized Space: Reviews note that the park is "clean and the space was good sized," indicating that despite it not being overtly massive, it offers adequate room for dogs to run and play comfortably.
  • Integrated within a Larger Park: Being part of Garner Recreational Park means visitors can combine their dog park visit with other recreational activities, such as using the playground, ballfields, or walking trails available in the larger park.

Promotions or Special Offers

There's only one area (it's not split into large and small parjs). It was clean and the space was good sized. The water wasn't working. Someone else mentioned it might not have been turned on yet. You might want to bring your own water.

Hands down my favorite dog park I have ever visited! I can actually throw the chuck-it as far as I can; and I still have plenty of room before it would go over the fence. Not super busy either. Love there is a small water bowl with fresh water; easy to clean up after the yorkie plays in the water bowl. Highly recommend!

Super clean and ice cold water for the pups! Poo bags and trash cans too! A few playground-like structures for interactive play too! My pup loved all the space to get his zoomies out!

Great little dog park, very well kept. Not as large as some of the other dog parks in Wake county, but still really nice!
