The best dog park i have EVER been to. You will not regret traveling to experience this park. It is so beautiful with tons of sun and shade options 7 benches for owners and many chairs and lots of fresh water for the kiddos. 90% of the space is grass that is kept green, i have never run into a mean dog at this site and they also have a very nice small dog section as well that is usually pretty full in the evenings. Bathrooms are very far away at least a 5 min walk and there is only 2 stalls but I've never had to wait for one before so that is a bonus. Lots of parking in this area sometimes you have to walk a small ways if there is none in the front as this is shared with a very popular tennis court.

The Morgan Hill Dog Park consistently emerges as a top contender, frequently hailed by visitors as "the best dog park I have EVER been to." This isn't just hyperbole; it's a testament to a facility designed with both canine and human comfort in mind, offering expansive green areas, thoughtful amenities, and a vibrant, friendly community. If you're looking for a dog park that promises ample room to run, a mix of sun and shade, and a consistently positive experience, then a trip to Morgan Hill Dog Park is highly recommended for your furry family member.
## Introduction / Overview
The Morgan Hill Dog Park is widely recognized as one of the premier off-leash dog facilities in Santa Clara County, California. Located within the larger Morgan Hill Community Park, it provides a dedicated, fully fenced environment where dogs can safely engage in free play and socialization. What immediately sets this park apart is its generous size, particularly the "two acres just for the big dogs to run," allowing even the most energetic canines ample space to sprint and explore.
A significant highlight is the park's commitment to maintaining a predominantly grassy surface that is "kept green," offering a soft and comfortable play area in contrast to many all-dirt parks. It thoughtfully includes separate sections for both large and small dogs, ensuring that all sizes can play comfortably and safely. Beyond the physical attributes, the park is celebrated for its positive social dynamics, with visitors consistently reporting a lack of "mean dogs" and a prevalence of "very kind and friendly" people. This combination of excellent facilities and a strong community vibe makes Morgan Hill Dog Park a truly exceptional destination for dog owners.
## Location and Accessibility
Morgan Hill Dog Park is conveniently situated at 271 W Edmundson Ave, Morgan Hill, CA 95037, USA. Its location is within the larger Morgan Hill Community Park, making it a central and accessible point for residents of Morgan Hill and surrounding areas in Santa Clara County.
Access to the park is generally very good. Visitors frequently praise the "lots of parking in this area." While it shares parking with a "very popular tennis court" and other park amenities, leading to occasional walks from the front lot, ample space is typically available. The park is often described as being just off West Edmundson (which is a continuation of Tennant Ave after crossing Monterey Rd, if coming from Freeway 101), making it straightforward to navigate to by car. The dog park is also located right next to the Centennial Recreation Center (at 171 W Edmundson), further aiding in its identification and accessibility. This prime location allows for easy, regular visits, making it a staple for active dog owners in this part of California. The park is open from 6 a.m. until 10 p.m. daily, though it may have specific maintenance closures, which are typically communicated by the City of Morgan Hill.

## Promotions or Special Offers
As a public park managed by the City of Morgan Hill's Parks and Recreation Department, Morgan Hill Dog Park does not typically offer commercial promotions or special offers in the traditional retail sense. Its inherent "special offer" to the local community is the continuous provision of a free, high-quality, and exceptionally well-maintained off-leash environment for dogs. The City of Morgan Hill is dedicated to offering this valuable public amenity for its residents and visitors.
Any community-organized events, such as pet adoption days, responsible pet ownership clinics, or park clean-up initiatives, would typically be coordinated by the City of Morgan Hill, local animal welfare groups, or community organizations like the Morgan Hill Dog Owners Group (MH-DOG). Information regarding such events would be disseminated through official city channels, including the City of Morgan Hill website's Parks & Recreation section, local community calendars, or dedicated social media groups for Morgan Hill dog owners. We highly recommend checking these official sources for the most up-to-date information on park hours (which are typically 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, though subject to change for maintenance), any temporary closures, or special community activities taking place at the park. The consistent availability of such a highly-rated and well-loved dog park, free of charge, represents its enduring and significant value to the local California community.

Jun 09, 2025 · Ariana ZigelhoferWas my first time here.this has to rank as one of the Best dog parks in Santa Clara county. We went on a Saturday morning and there was plenty of parking available. I'm used to having to drive around looking for a spot. Normally I would take my dogs to the small side, but there weren't any dogs on that side. Luckily my boys are comfortable playing with the big dogs. This park must have two acres just for the big dogs to run. It's great if your dogs love to just run without having to worry about running into other dogs or people.i saw plenty of poop bags available and people being responsible and picking up after their dogs.we may have to make the trip back down here again
Jun 21, 2023 · wayne tindallWe finally found a dog park that our dog and us both enjoy. So far, no unruly dogs, attentive owners, plenty of green grass and areas to run. Plenty of bags in waste stations and owner's all seem to clean up from their dogs.
Sep 26, 2017 · cy leapIve gone here multiple times, but my friend can walk here and she loves taking her dog Ronnie. Ronnie is the white dog in the picture and wears a red bandana. Maybe you can spot him there! Here they have a small and a big dog area. Dogs are very friendly, if you go a lot, you notice some people go daily or weekly, so your dog can make friends. Right next to a duck pond, tennis court, the CRC, a playground, and a basketball court.
