This is the little hill/mound with a rocky grove of Eucalyptus trees. A former area for having paintball battles. I don’t recall knowing if there was ever a name for that little hill. I only wish they could have saved more of the trees, hello shade yo! I do love how they kept the ground natural and how well the weeds are kept to a minimum, good stuff. But please pick up your trash people. I love the place even with its flaws.

Welcome to Glen Loma Ranch Dog Park
For dog owners in Gilroy, California, seeking an off-leash experience that goes beyond a flat, manicured lawn, Glen Loma Ranch Dog Park offers a refreshing and distinctive alternative. Located at 6360 Carsey Wy, this park is not your typical urban dog run; instead, it embraces a more "natural terrain," featuring a "little hill/mound with a rocky grove of Eucalyptus trees." This unique landscape provides an engaging and stimulating environment for dogs, allowing them to explore and exercise on varied surfaces, much like they would in a more natural setting.
Despite its origins as a former paintball area, Glen Loma Ranch Dog Park has been thoughtfully transformed into a dedicated canine oasis. It successfully balances a "natural" feel with essential amenities, including separate areas for dogs of different sizes and crucial waste management stations. While every public space has its occasional challenges, the park is largely "kept clean" by respectful users and benefits from a quiet neighborhood setting. For Californians in the Gilroy area looking for a dog park that offers both freedom to roam and a touch of rugged exploration, Glen Loma Ranch Dog Park stands out as a beloved local spot, even with its "flaws," offering an authentic and enjoyable experience for pups and their human companions.
Glen Loma Ranch Dog Park is situated at 6360 Carsey Wy, Gilroy, CA 95020, USA. This address places it within the Glen Loma Ranch development, a planned community in Gilroy. Its location within a "quiet neighborhood" suggests a more serene environment compared to dog parks situated in bustling commercial areas, offering a peaceful setting for dogs and their owners.
Accessibility to Glen Loma Ranch Dog Park appears to be straightforward, primarily by private vehicle. Being located on Carsey Way within a residential development, street parking is likely available and convenient for visitors. The fact that it's embedded within a neighborhood means it's easily reachable for local residents, encouraging regular visits. The park is described as a "little hill/mound," implying that while it's a dedicated area, it might be an open-air, less developed space than some highly structured parks. However, its clear definition as a "dog park" ensures that it is a designated off-leash zone for canines. For those traveling from other parts of Gilroy or nearby Santa Clara County communities, accessing Carsey Way via main thoroughfares in Gilroy should be simple. Despite its natural terrain, the overall accessibility and quiet location contribute to its appeal as a local dog park. Visitors are encouraged to be mindful of the residential surroundings, maintaining a respectful noise level and parking appropriately to ensure continued good relations with the neighborhood.
Glen Loma Ranch Dog Park offers a range of essential "services" and amenities designed to create a functional and enjoyable environment for dogs and their owners, with a strong emphasis on natural play:
- Fenced, Off-Leash Areas: The park provides securely fenced-in spaces where dogs can safely run and play without a leash. This containment is crucial for preventing escapes and ensuring a controlled environment for active dogs.
- Separate Areas for Large and Small Dogs: A highly beneficial service is the clear division into a "large dog side and a small dog side." This separation helps prevent accidental injuries and ensures that dogs of all sizes can play comfortably and confidently with appropriate companions.
- Natural Terrain Play Surface: Unlike flat, manicured parks, Glen Loma Ranch Dog Park features "natural terrain built on a hill with trees, bushes, rocks, etc." This offers a stimulating and varied play surface, encouraging dogs to explore and engage their natural instincts.
- Water Fountain: A "small neutral area with a water fountain" is available, ensuring dogs have access to fresh water during their active play, which is vital in California's climate.
- Poop Bag Stations: The park provides "3 poop bag stations," making it easy for owners to fulfill their responsibility of picking up after their dogs and contributing to the park's overall cleanliness.
- Natural Shade: The presence of a "rocky grove of Eucalyptus trees" offers some natural shade, a valuable amenity during sunny days, although more might be desired by some visitors.
- Waste Receptacles: While poop bag stations are present, the implication is that waste receptacles are also available for proper disposal, promoting a clean environment.
These services collectively position Glen Loma Ranch Dog Park as a well-equipped, naturally engaging, and community-focused facility for the Gilroy dog community.
Glen Loma Ranch Dog Park stands out with several unique features and highlights that make it a distinctive and appealing choice for dog owners in Gilroy:
- Natural, Varied Terrain: A significant highlight is its "more natural terrain built on a hill with trees, bushes, rocks, etc. as opposed to just a patch of grass or dirt." This provides an stimulating environment for dogs, encouraging agility, exploration, and different forms of play, making it a favorite for active pups.
- Secure Fenced Enclosure: The park is fully "fenced," offering a crucial layer of security that allows dogs to play off-leash safely without concerns of wandering off. This provides immense peace of mind for owners.
- Separate Areas for Dog Sizes: The clear division into a "large dog side and a small dog side" is a key feature, ensuring that dogs of all sizes can play comfortably and safely with appropriate companions, minimizing potential conflicts. It also has a "small neutral area" for transitions.
- Eucalyptus Tree Grove: The presence of a "rocky grove of Eucalyptus trees" adds to the park's natural aesthetic and provides some natural shade, enhancing the overall outdoor experience.
- Commitment to Cleanliness: Despite occasional lapses by some users, the park generally "is kept clean" and "weeds are kept to a minimum," indicating diligent maintenance and a community that largely respects the space. The readily available "3 poop bag stations" further support this.
- Water Fountain Access: The provision of a water fountain in the neutral area ensures that dogs can stay hydrated during their active play, which is essential in California's climate.
- Quiet, Respectful Neighborhood Setting: Being in a "quiet neighborhood" contributes to a more peaceful park experience, with a strong emphasis on visitors being "respectful of those that live there." This fosters a pleasant atmosphere for everyone.
These unique features, particularly the natural landscape and the dedication to cleanliness and separation, solidify Glen Loma Ranch Dog Park's reputation as a valuable and cherished resource for Gilroy's dog-owning community.
As a public park managed by the City of Gilroy, Glen Loma Ranch Dog Park does not typically offer commercial "promotions" or "special offers" in the retail sense. Its primary "offer" to the community is its consistent availability as a free, publicly accessible, and well-maintained space for dog recreation.
However, the park's inherent benefits serve as continuous "special offers" for local residents:
- Free Public Access: The most significant "promotion" is the consistent, free access to a secure, fenced, and thoughtfully divided off-leash area. This provides invaluable opportunities for dog exercise and socialization without any financial barrier, making it accessible to all members of the Gilroy community.
- Unique Natural Terrain: The park's distinctive "natural terrain built on a hill with trees, bushes, rocks, etc." offers a continuous "special offer" of varied and stimulating play. This provides a more engaging environment for dogs than flat, traditional dog parks, promoting different forms of exercise and exploration.
- Enhanced Safety and Peace of Mind: The separate areas for large and small dogs, combined with the secure fencing, offer an ongoing "offer" of enhanced safety and reduced anxiety for owners, allowing them to relax more while their dogs play.
- Health and Wellness Benefits: Regular visits to a safe, clean, and engaging dog park contribute directly to the physical and mental well-being of dogs, offering essential exercise, opportunities for play, and vital socialization. This ongoing benefit for healthier and happier pets is a continuous "offer" to pet owners.
- Community Building: The park naturally fosters a sense of community among local dog owners, offering opportunities for informal social interactions and connections, which is an intangible but valuable "offer."

Sep 03, 2024 · Christopher AmaroI love talking my Husky here, it's more natural terrain built on a hill with trees, bushes, rocks, etc as opposed to just a patch of grass or dirt, Has a large dog side and a small dog side along with a small neutral area with a water fountain. Also has 3 poop bag stations so there's no reason or excuse to not pick up after YOUR dog. The amount of times I've been there I've found at least 1 pile of poop but for the most part the park is kept clean. It's in a quiet neighborhood so if and when you visit please be respectful of those that live there.
Mar 24, 2024 · Daniel RamosThis park has a nice view, great location/potential, but this park needs a lot of fixing up to do. The tan bark was recycled pieces of wood mixed in with trash. A lot of pieces of wood laying around were stained with paint and obnoxiously large to be in a dog park. I found trash ranging from plastic, styrofoam, & even a rusty metal can (NOT SAFE). Dogs can consume these items or even step on the sharp rusty tin can injuring their paws. The park would be 100x better if it was grass only.
