Seems like a really nice park to bring the pup too. Awesome view of the river. We were there and it was super icy because of the great weather we have had lately. They have a dog water fountain setup and some cool activities for the dogs to do. We will be revisiting again when the ice melts.

Milton Landing Dog Park has garnered a reputation for being a well-maintained and welcoming space. It’s designed to allow dogs the freedom of off-leash play while ensuring their safety and encouraging positive interactions among both the dogs and their owners. Whether you're a local resident or visiting the area, this park promises a memorable outing for you and your furry friend.
Milton Landing Dog Park is conveniently located at 28 Sands Avenue, Milton, NY 12547, USA. Its prime position along the Hudson River provides not only easy access for residents of Milton and the surrounding towns in Ulster and Orange Counties but also offers "awesome view of the river," as highlighted by a satisfied visitor.
The park's integration into the larger Milton Landing Park complex makes it a destination with ample opportunities. There is typically convenient parking available, allowing for a hassle-free arrival. While one review noted icy conditions during a winter visit, indicating that seasonal considerations are important, the park remains accessible year-round for responsible dog owners. The broader Milton Landing Park also includes features like a fishing pier, kayak launch, and picnic areas, suggesting a well-developed public space that caters to various recreational activities, further enhancing the accessibility for families visiting with their dogs. This renovated public dog park, a project partly attributed to an Eagle Scout, is clearly designed with community use in mind.
Milton Landing Dog Park offers a range of thoughtful services and amenities designed to enhance the off-leash experience for dogs and their owners, focusing on safety, convenience, and enjoyment.
Dedicated Off-Leash Play Areas: The core service is a generously sized, fully fenced dog run where canines can safely exercise and socialize without the constraints of a leash. This expansive space is ideal for high-energy play.
Separate Runs for Different Dog Sizes: To ensure comfortable and safe interactions, the park features a "large dog run with a second smaller run for the little dogs." This separation is crucial for preventing accidental injuries and allowing all dogs to play at their own pace.
Dog Water Fountain: A vital amenity, the park has a "dog water fountain setup," as noted by a reviewer. This ensures that dogs can easily hydrate themselves during and after their active play sessions, a crucial feature, especially during warmer weather. While one historical account from a Gold Award project mentioned a previous lack of water source, recent reviews confirm a fountain is now in place, demonstrating ongoing improvements.
Dog Obstacle Course/Activities: The park includes "some cool activities for the dogs to do," indicating the presence of an "enrichment course" or "agility equipment." These features provide mental stimulation and varied physical challenges for the dogs, making playtime even more engaging.
Benches and Seating for Owners: For the comfort of human companions, the park provides benches for sitting, allowing owners to relax and observe their dogs while they play. Some reports indicate picnic seating, sometimes in shaded areas.
Waste Stations: While not explicitly detailed in all public reviews, well-maintained dog parks typically provide waste bag dispensers and trash receptacles to encourage responsible cleanup, a fundamental aspect of keeping the park "always clean."
Security Cameras: Some reports mention the presence of "security cameras...for safety," adding an extra layer of reassurance for park users. This suggests a commitment to maintaining a secure environment.
Milton Landing Dog Park boasts several key features and highlights that consistently earn it praise from local users and make it a standout destination in the New York dog park scene.
Stunning Hudson River Views: One of the most unique and appreciated highlights is the park's location offering "awesome view of the river." This picturesque backdrop enhances the experience for both dogs and their owners, making it a truly pleasant place to visit.
Always Clean and Safe: Multiple reviewers commend the park for being "Always clean and safe." This indicates a strong commitment to maintenance and a positive environment, crucial for attracting and retaining regular users.
Ample Space and Dedicated Runs: The park features a "large dog run" and a "second smaller run for the little dogs," along with "plenty of room for your pooch to run." This thoughtful segregation and generous space cater to the needs of all dog sizes and energy levels, ensuring safe and appropriate play.
Dog Water Fountain and Amenities: The presence of a functional "dog water fountain setup" is a significant convenience. Additionally, "cool activities for the dogs to do," potentially including "fire hydrants, dog pond, climbs, enrichment course," provide varied stimulation.
Shaded Areas: Reports suggest that "Half of the park is in the shade," offering crucial respite for dogs and owners, especially during hot weather. This natural cooling makes visits more comfortable.
Dog Wash Station: Some comprehensive descriptions of the park's amenities mention a "dog wash to rinse off all the dirt that comes with a good time," which would be an invaluable feature for maintaining cleanliness after muddy play.
Community-Driven Improvements: The "newly renovated" status, credited partly to an Eagle Scout project (specifically related to the water fountain), highlights a spirit of community involvement that actively improves the park's facilities.
As a public park facility operated by the local municipality, Milton Landing Dog Park typically does not offer commercial promotions or discounts in the traditional sense. However, its "offers" come in the form of accessible public services and community value.
Free Public Access: The most significant "offer" is that the dog park is generally free and open to the public, requiring no membership fees for general use. This makes it an equitable and readily available resource for all local dog owners.
Community Events and Gatherings: Milton Landing Park, as a whole, is a popular venue for community events organized by the Town of Marlborough (which encompasses Milton). These can include festivals, concerts, or other public gatherings, which indirectly benefit dog park users by fostering a vibrant local environment. For example, the "Milton Landing Fest" is an annual event held at the park. While not specifically dog park promotions, these events enhance the overall appeal of the area.
Ongoing Park Improvements: The "newly renovated" status and the reported addition of a water fountain (thanks to an Eagle Scout project) signify an ongoing commitment to enhancing the park's amenities. This continuous improvement is a valuable "offer" to the community, ensuring a high-quality experience over time.
Support for Responsible Pet Ownership: By providing waste bags and a clean environment, the park supports and encourages responsible pet ownership, which benefits the entire community by maintaining pleasant shared spaces.

Feb 23, 2025 · Shawn AdamsAlways clean and safe. A large dog run with a second smaller run for the little dogs. Check out the Hudson River too.
Mar 27, 2025 · Michelle GrimesNice park right off the Hudson. Clean. Lots of trees. There are only 2 benches in the large park area. There is a covered portion but nothing under it. The water supply for the dogs is only on the large side, but due to the winter, the water is cut off, so make sure you bring your own. Wood posts and wire fencing. No restrooms. There's a hilltop pavilion outside of the dog park with 2 picnic tables and a bench facing the water. There is no playground for kids. There is a large open field, but nothing on it.
Nov 17, 2023 · Sophia AponteThe concept of a dog park is there, but it's not maintained too much. There are no garbage bins to get rid of dog poo. It's a really good space, but the location is so random and hidden. There is nothing around , so you have to bring the water, food and dog toys to accommodate your dog. I loved the structure and the way it was built. They have a wood bench sitting area with no type of shade for the pet parents. But I would recommend just bringing your own foldable chair and sitting under the tree area for shade.
