Grassy fenced area for dogs to romp and play offleash. My dog loves the grass. (Thankfully, it's not just another dirt & rock field like many offleash parks these days.) We came on a rainy day and found just a few other dogs visiting. The entrance sign was hard to spot when other cars were parked here. Also, the dog park has no running water and it's not accessible (no paved trail, no handicapped parking).

Welcome to Lowell Riverfront Dog Park

Lowell Riverfront Dog Park: Your Canine's Green Oasis in Everett, WA

For dog owners in Everett and the surrounding Washington communities, finding an inviting and secure space for their furry friends to stretch their legs and socialize is a constant quest. Lowell Riverfront Dog Park offers just that – a dedicated, fenced off-leash area that stands out with its notable grassy expanse, providing a refreshing alternative to the typical dirt and rock surfaces found in many other dog parks. This makes it a particularly appealing spot for dogs who love to romp on soft ground, offering a more comfortable and enjoyable play experience.

Nestled within the larger Lowell Riverfront Park, this dog park provides a valuable resource for local pet owners. It's a place where dogs can truly be dogs, running freely, engaging in playful interactions with other canines, and enjoying the fresh air. The park fosters a friendly environment, often visited by a diverse array of dogs and their owners, making it a great place for both canine and human socialization. Whether you're looking for a quick stop to let your dog burn off some energy or a regular outing to enrich their day, Lowell Riverfront Dog Park is a well-regarded choice in the Snohomish County area.

Location and Accessibility

Lowell Riverfront Dog Park is conveniently located at 2901 Lowell Snohomish River Rd, Everett, WA 98203, USA. Its position alongside the Snohomish River provides a scenic backdrop, and it's part of the broader Lowell Riverfront Park, which features the popular Lowell Riverfront Trail. This makes it an attractive option for those who enjoy combining a dog park visit with a longer walk or run.

Getting to the park is generally straightforward, with parking available. However, it's worth noting that the entrance sign can sometimes be hard to spot, especially when other cars are parked nearby. Keep an eye out for it as you approach. While the main dog park area is fenced for security, visitors should be aware that the park itself is situated quite close to railroad tracks and a crossing. This means occasional loud train noises are to be expected. For dogs sensitive to loud sounds, owners may need to be prepared to help comfort their pets if they become startled.

One important accessibility note for potential visitors is that the dog park does not have a paved trail leading to it and does not offer designated handicapped parking. The path to the park itself may be unpaved, which could pose a challenge for some users, particularly after rain when the ground can become muddy. While there are other walking trails within the larger Lowell Riverfront Park, it is crucial to remember that these are not off-leash areas, and dogs must be leashed when outside the designated dog park enclosure.

Services Offered

Lowell Riverfront Dog Park provides a focused set of services designed to facilitate a pleasant off-leash experience:

  • Fenced Off-Leash Area: The core service is a secure, fenced area where dogs can play and run freely without a leash. This is ideal for ensuring safety and allowing dogs to expend energy.
  • Grassy Terrain: Unlike many other dog parks that feature dirt or gravel, Lowell Riverfront Dog Park boasts a significant grassy area. This provides a softer, cleaner, and more enjoyable surface for dogs to play on, which is a major draw for many owners.
  • Double-Gated Entry: For added security, the park features double-gated entries. This helps prevent dogs from accidentally slipping out when other visitors are entering or exiting the park.
  • Benches: Benches are available within the fenced area, allowing owners a place to sit and relax while supervising their dogs.
  • Pet Waste Bags and Receptacles: To encourage responsible pet ownership and maintain cleanliness, pet waste bags are often available, and trash receptacles are provided for convenient disposal of waste.
  • Seasonal Water Fountain: During the warmer months, a water fountain is generally available for both dogs and humans. However, during colder periods, running water may not be accessible, so it's always advisable to bring your own water and a bowl for your dog.
Features / Highlights

Lowell Riverfront Dog Park has several features that contribute to its appeal for dog owners in the Washington region:

  • Spacious Grassy Field: A key highlight is the large, grassy, fenced area. This provides ample room for dogs to run, play fetch, and socialize on a comfortable surface. It’s a welcome change from many dog parks that can become dusty or muddy.
  • Hilly Terrain: The park includes some hilly terrain, adding an extra dimension to playtime and providing more varied exercise opportunities for energetic dogs.
  • Proximity to Lowell Riverfront Trail: While the dog park itself is off-leash, its location within Lowell Riverfront Park means visitors can combine a dog park visit with a walk along the scenic Lowell Riverfront Trail (on-leash, of course). This multi-use paved trail offers beautiful views and additional exercise options.
  • Community Atmosphere: Visitors often comment on the friendly nature of both the dogs and their owners, contributing to a welcoming and positive environment for everyone.
  • Secure Fencing: The main off-leash area is securely fenced, giving owners peace of mind that their dogs can play freely without wandering off.
  • Agility Equipment: Some reviews mention the presence of basic agility equipment, adding another layer of engagement for dogs.
Promotions or Special Offers

As a public park facility managed by the City of Everett, Lowell Riverfront Dog Park does not typically offer commercial promotions or special discounts. The park itself is free to use, providing an invaluable public service to dog owners in the community.

Any "special offers" are usually tied to community events or initiatives organized by the City of Everett Parks and Recreation department or local dog groups. For example, the park's grand opening in June 2022 was a community event featuring a ribbon-cutting ceremony and treats from the Everett Animal Shelter. While not a regular occurrence, Lowell Riverfront Park, as a whole, occasionally hosts community running events and races, sometimes utilizing the parking area near the dog park. These events are generally open to the public for registration. To stay informed about any potential future events or park-related news, locals are encouraged to check the City of Everett Parks and Recreation website or local community calendars.

Conclusion: Why Lowell Riverfront Dog Park is Suitable for Locals

For dog owners residing in Washington, especially within Everett and Snohomish County, Lowell Riverfront Dog Park presents an excellent option for their furry companions. Its most significant draw is the expansive, well-maintained grassy area, which offers a soft and pleasant surface for dogs to play, run, and socialize. This is a considerable advantage over many other off-leash areas that might be predominantly dirt or gravel, which can be less comfortable for paws and lead to more mess.

The park’s fully fenced design, complemented by double-gated entries, provides a secure environment, giving owners peace of mind as their dogs enjoy off-leash freedom. While the proximity to railroad tracks means occasional loud noises, many dogs adjust quickly, and it's a minor consideration given the overall benefits. The availability of pet waste bags and receptacles also reflects the park's commitment to cleanliness and responsible pet ownership, a value highly appreciated by local users.

Furthermore, its integration within the larger Lowell Riverfront Park means that a visit to the dog park can easily be extended to include a scenic walk along the paved Lowell Riverfront Trail, allowing for varied activities for both dogs (on-leash outside the designated area) and their human companions. This versatility makes it an ideal spot for a comprehensive outing. Despite the minor accessibility notes regarding unpaved paths and lack of specific handicapped parking at the dog park entrance, the overall positive experience, combined with the friendly community of dog lovers, solidifies Lowell Riverfront Dog Park as a highly suitable and cherished resource for Washington locals seeking a quality off-leash experience for their beloved pets.

Forgot to mention it is rite next to railroad Trax and a crossing so that can get load but not to bad..just make sure if u have a sensitive dog to watch for any spooked out reaction to help them through it.. there is also other walking trails just not off leash .

Large and hilly, this dog park has a table and benches. You cannot see the entire park from the entrance, which is risky if your dog is afraid of specific things, people, or dogs. Has a good airlock entrance. Rocks around the dumpster are too sharp for my moderately tough dog's paws, but inside the park is fine. All grass and mud, no trees or interesting landscaping inside, except that there's a big hill you can't see down until you walk twenty feet in. Fully fenced.

A easy 1.4 mile paved path with minimal elevation changes. Has picnic tables with a beautiful view of the Shohomish River. Well worth the time IMHO.

Decent little park that just opened. Dumpster and honey bucket on site. Seems to be plenty of parking. Solid fence. Small poop bag dispenser stocked at gate. No running water/spigot to fill dog bowls. Two benches and two picnic tables with benches. There is not really any tree cover to speak of on the south or west, so I can only imagine it is in direct sun with no respite during all the hottest hours of the day, but it is we just lovely at 8 pm
