Guy groomed our dog and did the worst possible job ever! I’m so disappointed. We’ve taken our dog here multiple times and this was the worst experience. It looks like he has a toupee! And he buzzed so close on parts of his body it’s all uneven. He should have faded in the fur better. NEVER GOING BACK!
Great place. Sam and Ed are very professional, kind and with passions to the animals! We got our little tortoise and we love to visit the store! Especially playing with the big one “George”!
Compared to other Petco locations, this was a dreadful experience. The store isn't welcoming at all. The lighting and decor are both drab. We went to the basement for all things fish, but needed assistance while shopping. There was not a single attendant on that level. After waiting for 10 minutes and looking around, a lady came out of the 'Office' but was in a rush. She said she would get someone for us. That someone never turned up after 5 minutes. When we saw her again, she helped us finally. We wanted some aquatic plants for our fish tank. I'd say 80% of the plants on the floor were not in a healthy state. Most of them had brown or decaying leaves. Some of the fish tanks were severely overstocked. My kid was horrified because the conditions were bad. Please look at the attached photo. At the cashier's, we asked for a bag. When she put our merchandise into two small handle-less bags, we requested a bag with a handle and said we would pay. She said that she thought the paper bags were fine and didn't have enough handled bags. After we insisted, she reluctantly gave us a proper bag. This location was an unwelcome and unprofessional experience. Won't be coming back.
Was in the store for quite some time looking for my products and no one approached me to ask me if I needed assistance. Clearly, I'm walking around the store trying to find my items and no one would come up to me in a rather empty store at the time and ask me if I needed assistance? When I did find my items I had to wait about a minute to be taken by the cashier as she seemed to be totally engaged in doing other things than helping me. When she finally decided to take me, her attitude, let's say was less than engaging. She did say have a good evening, but it was said more in the tone of you can leave now. Don't think I'll be going back to this location.
I've shopped here a few times over the past four months and always leave feeling a bit off. First visit was for a scheduled grooming—when I arrived, the groomer said I had to add a service because of my dog's coat. Turns out PetSmart does the same thing. If it's required, just be upfront during booking instead of calling it an "add-on." Second visit was for an online pickup. The cashier, Frances, insisted there was no order without checking. When I showed my confirmation email, she silently checked a device, walked away, and eventually handed me the item—no apology, no explanation. Third visit was for a light grooming package. When I arrived, the groomers asked if I was just there for a bath. I said no and requested an upkeep package, and they exchanged a look that felt like "ugh, that is too simple and we don’t want to do this." They did a good job, but the attitude was off-putting. (Also, the scale is way off—at least 10-15 lbs.) At checkout, I got Frances again, who asked if I came in regularly. When I said no, she launched into a pitch about their rewards program. I get that she was promoting services, but the delivery felt more passive-aggressive than welcoming. All of these visits were within a four-month period, and the pattern is consistent—decent results, but the customer service is just odd. I go mainly because it's nearby, but I usually schedule services elsewhere since this location feels kind of sad and unwelcoming.
