More specifically, some local information indicates its precise location as 5 Elizabeth Place in South Nyack, nestled behind a small grassy children's play area just off Elizabeth Place on the west side of I-87/287. This address places it firmly within the charming village of Nyack, a popular spot in Rockland County known for its artistic flair, waterfront views, and welcoming community.
Accessibility to the park is quite convenient for residents across the New York region, particularly those in and around Rockland County. While the primary street address is S Broadway, direct access points are notable. Visitors can access the park from Elizabeth Place itself, or seamlessly from the Raymond G. Esposito Rail Trail. This connectivity to the rail trail makes it an excellent destination for those who enjoy combining a scenic walk or bike ride with a dog park visit, offering an integrated recreational experience.
For those arriving by car, it is important to note the local recommendation regarding parking. Parking should ideally be done on Main Street, rather than the immediate neighborhood side streets. Based on currently available public information, Elizabeth Place Dog Park does not appear to offer ongoing commercial promotions or special discount offers in the traditional sense. As a community recreational facility, often managed by a local municipality or town, its focus is typically on providing free and accessible public amenities rather than generating revenue through special deals.
However, it's important for locals to be aware of community-driven initiatives that could be considered "special offers" in terms of park improvement and engagement. For instance, the Town of Orangetown has actively sought grant opportunities to fund a new playground at Elizabeth Place Park. There have been community petitions to show support for these funding efforts and for the approval and implementation of an ADA-compliant playground. While not a direct discount for park users, supporting such initiatives contributes to the park's continued enhancement and offers long-term benefits to the community.
It is always recommended that interested Nyack residents and dog owners check official sources such as the Town of Orangetown's website, the South Nyack local government pages (if applicable after village dissolution), or local community news outlets. These platforms are the most likely places to announce any future community events, park clean-up days, or new amenity additions that might indirectly serve as special benefits to park users. For example, some parks occasionally host free dog training sessions or pet wellness clinics in partnership with local organizations, which could be considered valuable "offers" for the community.

Please note that a specific direct phone number for Elizabeth Place Dog Park itself is not widely available in public listings, which is common for community-managed public parks.
For general inquiries related to park maintenance, rules, or community events, it is best to direct your questions to the relevant local authorities. Since the park is located in the Town of Orangetown, within what was formerly the Village of South Nyack, the Town of Orangetown's Parks and Recreation Department or general municipal offices would be the most appropriate points of contact.
While a direct phone number for the park is not listed, the Town of Orangetown website (orangetown.com) or other official Nyack community resources are the most reliable places to find contact information for relevant departments. These websites often include general inquiry phone numbers or contact forms. Additionally, look for signage posted at the park itself, which might provide contact details for park management or emergency services. For any immediate concerns regarding park conditions or safety, it is always advisable to contact local non-emergency police services or the appropriate town department.
For residents of Nyack and the surrounding New York communities, Elizabeth Place Dog Park is more than just a fenced-in area for dogs; it's a carefully considered community asset that perfectly aligns with the lifestyle and needs of local families and their pets. Its suitability for locals stems from its unique blend of features, convenient location, and commitment to a welcoming environment.
Firstly, its prime location in South Nyack, with direct access from both Elizabeth Place and the scenic Raymond G. Esposito Rail Trail, makes it exceptionally convenient for daily visits. Whether you're integrating a dog park stop into your morning run or simply looking for a quick outing, its accessibility is a significant advantage for busy New Yorkers. The ability to park on Main Street, as advised by locals, further streamlines the visit, making it stress-free.
Secondly, the park's thoughtful amenities directly address common needs of dog owners. The provision of fresh water ensures pets stay hydrated, while readily available poop bags promote cleanliness and responsible pet ownership—qualities highly valued by community members. The benches offer a comfortable spot for owners to relax and socialize, fostering connections among local dog lovers and strengthening the fabric of the community.
Perhaps the most compelling reason for its suitability for locals is its innovative dual-purpose design. The adjacent, newly improved playground makes Elizabeth Place Dog Park a true haven for families with both canine and human children. This allows parents to effortlessly combine their child's playtime with their dog's exercise, maximizing precious family time and simplifying daily routines. This integrated approach is a rare and highly appreciated feature for busy households in the New York metropolitan area.
While the proximity to the Thruway might introduce some noise, the overwhelming benefits—including a secure, clean environment, sufficient space for a good workout, and a friendly atmosphere—far outweigh this minor consideration. Elizabeth Place Dog Park truly understands the dynamic needs of modern families and their pets, making it an indispensable and beloved part of the Nyack community. It is a testament to how local spaces can be designed to serve multiple purposes, enhancing the quality of life for all its residents.

Jun 07, 2024 · Nancy Blaker Weber’s Eye on Nyack Real EstateNice place for dogs. Benches. Playground adjacent. Access from Elizabeth Place or the Raymond G. Esposito Rail Trail. Noisy as it's next to the NY State Thruway.
Nov 08, 2024 · Steve SchwinnMy wife loves going with the dog after work (much closer to home than veterans memorial). 2 small issues..... one is it gets very muddy near the entrance and the center (likely due to traffic, but there's no longer grass there is the real issue). Second is the benches were put right across from where the sun is most of the day. I imagine there were many locations better suited..... always bags, garbage pail, water, bowls, and a 6 foot fence all around. Nice park, all-in-all.....
Nov 08, 2023 · Salvatore TorregrossaIt was nice. Spacy, although I would have like there to have the small back side leading upward near the highway fenced. The dogs can't get hurt because there is a nice green area, and the highway have there own gray short fence but I would have felt a little safer for my dog. And I would have like less dirty area and more grass area but over all it was nice. People that I meet there that day known there dog, were nice, friendly. The people of the neighborhood were Great.
Jun 12, 2021 · Me Me EtiIts big with varied terrain. No special surfacing so parts get muddy after rain. Water for dogs. No special yard for small dog. No human amenities. Gets shaded by Pallisades in late afternoon. Parking should be done on main street, not neighborhood side street (abutters complain if you do). All in all I think its one of the better parks around.
