Really nice and private dog park for both small and large dogs. I’m glad I found this park since the Folsom dog park is closed on some days. The area here is private, away from roads, and fairly flat. I like the size of the park. Not too big and not too small where you’re dog can’t run. It’s also great that’s it’s flat and not with a bunch of hills and dips to the point where you can’t watch over your dog. Most importantly, I’ve found the dogs and owners here get along much better than other parks in the area. Haven’t had any bad encounters with dogs picking on each other and the people here have been very friendly. Large trees and a lot of mulch compared to grass. I like the drinking fountain for both people and dogs. The dogs like the fresh water and it’s very easy to fill it for them compared to dirty bowls. Overall, a great place. Must be nice in the summer with all the trees! Just doesn’t have any lights if you wanted to come after dark.

The El Dorado Hills CSD Community Dog Park is located at 1021 Harvard Way, El Dorado Hills, CA 95762, USA. This address places it conveniently within the El Dorado Hills Community Park, a well-established and accessible recreational hub managed by the El Dorado Hills Community Services District (CSD). The park's setting is described as "private, away from roads," offering a sense of seclusion and safety that is highly valued by visitors. It is situated west of New York Creek in a wooded area, adjacent to athletic fields, providing a pleasant and natural backdrop for dog play.

Accessibility to the park is made easy with "convenient access from parking areas to the north and south." This ample parking is a significant advantage, particularly for those traveling from nearby areas like Folsom, as one reviewer mentioned, highlighting it as a great alternative when other local parks might be closed. The park's flat terrain also enhances accessibility, making it easy to walk around and supervise dogs without contending with "a bunch of hills and dips." This user-friendly design ensures that visitors of all mobilities can enjoy the park. Being part of the larger El Dorado Hills Community Park also means it benefits from robust infrastructure and clear signage, contributing to a smooth and enjoyable visit for both first-timers and regular patrons.

The El Dorado Hills CSD Community Dog Park offers a range of valuable amenities and provisions that effectively serve as services for its users, enhancing the overall experience for dogs and their owners:

  • Separate Large and Small Dog Areas: A crucial service, the park provides distinct, fully-fenced sections for both small and large dogs. This separation ensures that dogs of all sizes can play safely and comfortably, tailored to their individual needs and play styles.

  • Water Fountain for Dogs and People: A highly appreciated amenity, the park features a dual-purpose drinking fountain. This allows "the dogs to like the fresh water" and makes it "very easy to fill it for them compared to dirty bowls," while also catering to human hydration needs.

  • Abundant Shade from Large Trees: The presence of "large trees" provides significant natural shade, which is a vital service, especially during warm California summers. This helps keep both dogs and owners comfortable during their visits.

  • Pet Waste Stations: The park is equipped with convenient "disposal bags" and waste stations, encouraging responsible pet ownership and contributing to the park's cleanliness.

  • Well-Maintained Grounds with Mulch: While having "a lot of mulch compared to grass," the grounds are described as "fairly flat" and well-maintained. This type of surfacing can be beneficial for drainage and reducing muddy conditions, while still providing a comfortable play area.

  • Friendly Social Environment: Perhaps one of the most important 'services' is the positive community fostered here. Users consistently report that "the dogs and owners here get along much better than other parks," with "very friendly" people, leading to "no bad encounters."

Great large park shaded with many large oaks. The entire area is covered in mulch which is great for the dogs. Everyone is committed to keeping the park clean picking up after their own dogs and even after others when discovered. Very friendly people and dogs. Small (under 30 lbs.) and large dogs each have their own areas.

This is a really good dog park, except that some of the dogs play too rough for my golden retriever. I wish there was a way to have times when only gentle dogs are allowed. Right now, it’s just luck what dogs are there when we go.
