There is a nice grassy area that is fenced in so you can let your dog run free. There is also a drinking fountain for yourself AND your furry friend. The only issue is that the poop bag dispenser is hardly ever filled.

Eckerd College has long been celebrated for its unique pet-friendly campus culture, and the Eckerd College Pet Park is a testament to this commitment. While primarily catering to the college community, its accessibility and features make it a noteworthy spot for other local dog owners seeking a reliable fenced area.

What stands out about Eckerd College Pet Park, as consistently highlighted by users, is its simplicity and effectiveness. Imagine a "nice grassy area that is fenced in," providing a secure perimeter where you can confidently "let your dog run free." This straightforward design ensures that the focus remains on your dog's ability to exercise and play in a contained environment. The park understands the essentials: it offers a vital "drinking fountain for yourself AND your furry friend," ensuring both human and canine hydration, especially important during Florida's warm days. Reviews consistently praise the park for being "fantastic" and simply "a fenced area to let your dog loose with a human and dog fountain and some benches." This emphasizes its core functionality and the clear value it provides without unnecessary frills. While some feedback mentions occasional issues with the "poop bag dispenser is hardly ever filled" and "trash can for dog poop is absolutely never emptied" or that the "lawn not cut often enough," these are common maintenance challenges in many public spaces. Despite these minor points, the overarching sentiment is positive, with users recognizing it as a "fantastic" amenity to have on campus and in the local area. The presence of benches offers a spot for owners to relax while their pups socialize, making it a comfortable experience for both ends of the leash. For St. Pete locals, particularly those living near the Eckerd College campus, this pet park offers a valuable and accessible space for daily dog recreation.

It's fantastic and just a simple fenced area to let your dog loose with a human and dog fountain and some benches. Would give five stars but the trash can for dog poop is absolutely never emptied and lawn not cut often enough, otherwise fantastic to have on campus.
