Services Offered

  • Dedicated Off-Leash Play Areas: The primary service of the Dog Park @ River Road Park is providing a safe and legally sanctioned space for dogs to play off-leash. This is crucial for canine physical and mental well-being, allowing them to run freely, chase balls, and engage in natural dog behaviors.

  • Separated Areas for Large and Small Dogs: To ensure the safety and comfort of all visitors, the park features distinctly fenced sections. One area is specifically designated for smaller dogs, while another caters to larger breeds. This thoughtful separation helps prevent accidental injuries and allows dogs to play with companions of similar size and play styles.

  • Agility Equipment: For dogs that enjoy a mental and physical challenge, the park is equipped with various canine-centric play equipment. While specific details on the types of equipment may vary, the presence of agility features encourages active play and helps dogs develop coordination and confidence.

  • Seating for Owners: Understanding that human companions also need a place to rest and supervise, the park provides benches and seating areas within the dog enclosures. This allows owners to relax and observe their dogs in comfort, fostering a more pleasant experience for everyone.

  • Fencing with Double-Gated Entrance: Safety is paramount at the Dog Park @ River Road Park. The entire dog park area is fully fenced, providing a secure perimeter. Additionally, a double-gated entrance system is in place, offering an extra layer of security to prevent dogs from accidentally slipping out when people enter or exit.

  • Hardwood Mulch Play Surface with Underdrain System: The play surface for the dogs consists of a 12-inch layer of shredded hardwood mulch. This type of surfacing is often preferred in dog parks for its drainage capabilities and softer impact, which can be easier on a dog’s joints compared to harder surfaces. An extensive underdrain system helps manage water, keeping the park cleaner and more usable after rain.

  • Waste Bag Stations: Responsible pet ownership is encouraged, and the park facilitates this by providing waste bag dispensers. This amenity helps maintain the cleanliness of the park and ensures a hygienic environment for all users.

  • Purpose-Built for Canine Enjoyment: The park is specifically designed with dogs' happiness in mind, from the designated play zones to the types of surfaces and equipment provided. This focus on canine needs is a major highlight.

  • Safe and Secure Environment: The full fencing and double-gated entry system offer peace of mind to owners, knowing their dogs can play freely without a high risk of escape. The separation for large and small dogs further enhances safety.

Your friendly neighborhood dog park. People are pretty cool here. You got a large field and kid playground in the vicinity.

We are considering relocating to DE, and wanted to check out the local dog park. The visitors, animal and human, were friendly and welcoming. The ground cover is mulch, which cuts down on muddy paws. There was even a large bowl with water available. Very thoughtful. There are a few agility pieces in both the small and large dog areas Benches and seating areas are available for pet parents, and a large tree for resting in the safe for the fur babies m We all enjoyed the visit, very much.

It is a very well taken care of yards for dogs. They've got agility courses and always have toys. It is in a development, so you have the people that live there that think they're the only ones that deserve to have their dogs there. Well people and their Furry Friends will come from everywhere.
