This dog park is pretty nice. Although the layout is kind of different. There are two different sections of the dog park. One is a path which you can walk down and back and another leads into a large field for the dogs to run around in. My dog had a great time and we will visit again.

Features / Highlights

Carolyn Meeker Dog Park offers several features that make it a distinct and appealing choice for local dog owners:

  • Spacious and Diverse Play Areas: Unlike many single-field dog parks, its "different layout" with a dedicated "path" for walking and a "large field" for running provides varied environments for canine activity. This caters to different dog personalities and exercise needs.
  • Separate Areas for All Dog Sizes: The clear division into large and small dog sections is a significant highlight, ensuring that dogs of all sizes can play safely and comfortably with appropriate companions.
  • Comprehensive Amenities for Owners and Dogs: The presence of dog wash stations, water fountains for both humans and canines, and shaded picnic tables demonstrates a thoughtful approach to visitor comfort and convenience.
  • Pebble-Covered Ground: While some areas might be dirt, portions of the park are noted to have "pebble-covered ground," which can be a low-maintenance alternative to sandy surfaces and less messy than pure dirt.
  • Kid and Pet-Friendly Environment: The park aims to be a welcoming space for the entire family, promoting a delightful experience for both pups and their owners.
  • Free Parking and Entry: With free parking nearby and no entry fee, the park offers an accessible and spontaneous option for dog owners, making regular visits easy and cost-effective.

Promotions or Special Offers

As a public park managed by Hillsborough County, Carolyn Meeker Dog Park does not typically offer commercial promotions or special offers in the traditional business sense. Its mission is to provide a free and accessible recreational space for the community. Therefore, visitors should not expect to find discounted passes, membership programs, or coupon codes directly from the park itself.

However, the park's status as a community amenity means that it can indirectly benefit from local pet-related businesses or community initiatives. For instance, local pet supply stores, groomers, or veterinary clinics in Lutz and the surrounding Tampa Bay area might occasionally host events or outreach programs that coincide with visits to the park. These could include adoption events, free pet health clinics, or special offers on their services for local pet owners. To stay informed about such opportunities, locals are encouraged to check community bulletin boards, local social media groups dedicated to Lutz or Tampa Bay area dog owners, or the official Hillsborough County Parks & Recreation website and their event calendars for announcements about pet-friendly activities that might take place at or near Carolyn Meeker Dog Park.

What’s going on? Is there some kind of protest happening cause like there’s poop filled bags all over the place. Like the owners just picked the poop up and drop the bag down. Is there some kind of unannounced protest that’s happening with the people that come here it’s just stupid why ruined something that’s fun for everyone of you patrons suck for doing that. Keep it up we’re gonna lose the park.

Great park with lots of shade and water always accessible to dogs and people. Picnic tables to sit on. Bathrooms. two spacious different areas for dogs 1 for under 25 lbs and 1 for dogs over 25 lbs. It is next to a (fenced) swamp so bug spray is needed particularly at dusk and dawn. Small nature trail next to the small dog park.

Great dog park. It is well-kept and spacious with separate areas for small and large dogs. They keep it well stocked with bags, and there are water sources for drinking and rinsing off pups. There are plenty of areas to sit, including some in the shade. There is also a nature trail, though I haven't explored it yet.

There has only be one time where there wasn’t at least one other dog there! It’s very spacious and they have one section for large breeds and one for small breeds.
