UPDATED REVIEW: Other than the fact that this park is all sand and little grass, my little dog loves this place. We like to go when there’s not many people and dogs here so he can run and chase the squirrels who taunt the dogs. They have a secondary space for small dogs, but every time I’ve been there the big dog people have been happy to have my little man come along for the run! It’s quite large, there’s water and poop stations, as well as a bench and some tennis balls around. Please just pick up after your dogs!! This is a really great place for Wildwood and surrounding communities to bring their dogs. It kind of sucks that there’s so much sand and not grass, but it’s Florida I guess that’s what you should expect. I like how large it is and that there is also a smaller dog fenced area. It’s a nice idea to have a watering area but it gets really nasty. I would recommend bringing your dog their own water. Overall, fun place for dogs🤗

Services Offered

BarkPark of Wildwood is well-equipped to provide a comprehensive range of services and facilities, ensuring a safe, clean, and enjoyable experience for dogs and their owners. Based on common offerings at well-maintained public dog parks and user reviews, visitors can typically expect:

  • Dedicated Off-Leash Areas: The core service is providing securely fenced areas where dogs can run freely, play, and interact without leashes. This is crucial for their physical health and social development.
  • Separate Sections for Large and Small Dogs: To ensure the safety and comfort of all canine visitors, the park features distinct, securely fenced areas for large dogs and a secondary, smaller space specifically for small or more timid dogs. This thoughtful separation helps prevent conflicts and allows dogs of similar play styles to interact.
  • Waste Stations: Promoting responsible pet ownership, the park is equipped with convenient waste bag dispensers and clearly marked trash receptacles, encouraging all owners to pick up after their pets and maintain cleanliness.
  • Water Access: There are dedicated water stations to keep dogs hydrated, a critical amenity in Florida's warm climate. While one review noted that the watering area "gets really nasty" and suggested bringing personal water, the provision itself is a valuable service.
  • Seating for Owners: Benches are available within the park, allowing pet owners to relax and supervise their dogs in comfort.

I take my dog there as many times as I can. She has the best of Times there

After losing her adoptive brother 2 weeks ago, we've been touring dog parks in the area to try to keep Jazz occupied and make new friends. Bark Park is my favorite place for dogs so far. Of course there are going to be villagers with their designer/status- symbol dogs, but there is also a good mix of people who genuinely love animals and want the best for their rescues. Lots of space for the dogs to run, water and clean-up bags are provided, and the park is clean. A wonderful place to spend a few quality hours. :)

Great shaded area for you and your pup. It was pretty empty when we visited, but we visited on the 4th of July. I expected it to be empty. There are two separate areas for small and large pups. The entrance to the park itself as secure as I’d like it to be. Watch out if you have a runner the gate is secured closed via chain that wraps around a wooden pole. I’m sure any large pup can break through. Bonus free milkbones for your pup upon entrance or departure. The park was maintained pretty well. The sand to grass ratio was 2:1. Wipe your pups feet before getting back into your car. Definitely a lot of room to roam about, but not enough sitting areas.

A fairly nice park has a large area for large dogs and a smaller area for small dogs. however the area for the small dogs has a dip right by the entrance gates, it's just large enough for some small dogs to slip right under.
