This small town public dog park, picnic area and playground is a good park if you are in the area and need a place for your dog off-leash. PROS: - double gated entry - poop bags and receptable provided in a dispenser - water faucet with bucket for doggies - fully fenced, though the fence is a little short for big dogs - bench to sit and relax in dog area - IT'S FREE! CONS: - no real shade in dog play area - no separate area for big and small dogs - can't bring dogs into fenced picnic area/playground, but it's understandable - cigarette butts around bench that dogs can get to All being said, it's nice that Lake Panasoffkee provides it and as long as visitors respect it, pick up trash and poop scoop, it's nice.

While the park is described as being "small" and having "mostly sand and dry grass" with "no real shade," it's important to view these aspects in the context of a small town public amenity. Its primary function is to offer a safe, fenced space for dogs to "stretch their legs" when in the area. The fact that "it's free!" is a significant advantage, making it accessible to all residents without financial barriers. The provision of waste bags and a water faucet with a bucket, despite the basic nature of the park, indicates a thoughtful effort to provide essential comforts for pets.

User feedback also points out some areas for improvement, such as the lack of separate areas for big and small dogs, and some gaps in the fence at the gate. However, the overarching sentiment is one of appreciation for Lake Panasoffkee providing this amenity. The success of such a park largely depends on the collective responsibility of its visitors to "respect it, pick up trash and poop scoop," fostering a community-driven approach to its upkeep.

Despite its "small town" scale and some identified limitations, its fundamental offerings align perfectly with the needs of everyday dog owners seeking a reliable place for their pets to thrive.

The fact that the community provides a dedicated, fully fenced space at all is a significant benefit. The park’s effectiveness largely relies on the collective responsibility of its users to "respect it, pick up trash and poop scoop," fostering a communal spirit of care for this shared amenity.

Ultimately, the Lake Panasoffkee Dog Park serves its community by providing an essential space for dogs to get off-leash exercise and interact. Mostly sand and dry grass. Only one area, no speration of big and small dogs. Watch out for the gaps in the fence at the gated, my dogs was able to slip out. There is a spigot for fresh water and the place was clean.

Very simple park, always clean. One side is the dog park, the other has a small playground and swing set for children, as well as a seated area under a hangover. There's a few enrichment toys and obstacles for dogs to run through and play with, and it includes a station for baggies and clean-up.

Great little dog park next to a playground. I do not recommend using the porta potty though it's in rough shape and not well maintained. But all in all it is the perfect spot to stop if you're local or just passing through. It wasn't very busy when we went either which was a plus for us because our big dog we were transporting didn't like other big dogs.

I really like that there’s a small kids playground right next to this. Keeps my kids occupied while the dog stretches his legs. However, there’s not much going on here. A couple things for him to sniff and he ran around for a few minutes then was ready to go. If you have a large dog or they are fence jumpers be careful here. The fence is pretty short in some areas. Also, there’s a bench right next to the playground that a curious dog could easily climb over.
