Location and Accessibility

Bark Park is nestled within the sprawling Clayton County International Park, with its address at 8451 Crane Rd, Jonesboro, GA 30236, USA. This prime location in Jonesboro makes it highly accessible for residents throughout Clayton County and surrounding areas south of Atlanta. While the larger International Park is vast, visitors note that while it's a "huge park," once found, the Bark Park offers a welcoming and distinct space.

The International Park is known for its wide array of recreational offerings, and the Bark Park is a key amenity. The park's operating hours for the main International Park facilities are typically extensive, and the Bark Park itself is generally open from sunrise to sunset. There is ample parking available within the larger International Park complex, making visits convenient. Although some visitors mentioned getting slightly lost on their first visit due to the park's size, the friendly atmosphere and helpfulness of other park-goers ensure a smooth arrival, making it a familiar and easy-to-reach destination for regulars.

Services Offered

Bark Park - International Park is well-equipped to serve the needs of its canine visitors and their human companions, offering a range of services and amenities designed for a safe, fun, and clean environment for off-leash play.

  • Separate Off-Leash Areas: The park features distinct, securely fenced areas for different dog sizes. There is a large dog park area and a small dog park area, ensuring that pups can play safely with companions of similar size and energy levels.
  • Dog Washing Station: A significant convenience for dog owners, the park includes a dedicated dog washing station. This allows owners to rinse off muddy paws or a dusty coat before heading home, keeping cars cleaner.
  • Waste Stations: The park is well-equipped with pet waste stations, providing bags and disposal bins to promote cleanliness and responsible pet ownership, contributing to a "nice clean dog park."
  • Agility/Climbing Elements: Reviews mention "places for my dogs to play and climb," indicating the presence of various agility or play structures designed to mentally and physically stimulate dogs during their visit.
  • Benches/Seating: Seating options, likely benches, are available within the park, allowing owners to rest while supervising their dogs.
  • Water Fountains (Seasonal/Maintenance Dependent): The park is designed with water fountains for dogs. While a review noted they wished "the fountains were working" during their visit (likely due to winterizing or maintenance), the presence of these facilities is a core offering when operational.

It's worth noting that the overall International Park complex offers public restrooms and other general park facilities, which are accessible to dog park visitors.

The park was also a site for the 1996 Summer Olympics beach volleyball.

A recurring point from reviews mentions that the water fountains may not always be operational, especially during colder months due to winterization. It's advisable for visitors to bring their own water for their dogs as a backup, particularly during cooler seasons.

Promotions or Special Offers

As a public amenity managed by Clayton County Parks and Recreation, Bark Park - International Park does not typically offer commercial "promotions" or "special offers" in the retail sense. However, the broader Clayton County International Park is a major recreational hub that frequently hosts various county-sponsored events, programs, and even paid attractions that can enhance a visit to the park area:

great place! nice area for my dogs to play and climb. even a washing station. just wish the fountains were working for when i forget to bring water 😅 (update: i know it's winter and the county is probably iffy about the pipes and stuff but it would be really nice if we got those water fountains back on, js)

The trails are paved and accessible. People are friendly, and there is a lot of foot traffic on the paths. There are a couple of connected paths but I chose the one that went around the lake and connected to the dog park. Pet owners are very respectful and responsible with their dogs and very welcoming of new people and pets.

Nice clear dog park. The grass is green. There’s some rocks to sit on while your dogs are around. One of the owners that I met here mentioned that it’s supposed to come during sundown and the summer and usually there’s a lot of dogs here the only thing that I would say is you have to bring your own water because the water station that is provided here does not work but other than that it’s a pretty, nice dog park

We visited here on 04/09/2023. As pups, this dog park was alright! When we arrived, there were two dogs in the dog park but in a matter of minutes they left and no other dogs ever came. I (Pato) love playing with other dogs, so this stunk a little because that's kinda the whole point of a dog park. Granted, it was Easter so we aren't necessarily able to judge that correctly. Outside of that, we had fun running around. I (Juno) enjoyed my first go at a kinda "agility course" and had fun. Our PAWrents weren't a huge fan of this visit because where we entered the dog park it was heavily flooded so our paws entering and exiting (right before we hopped in their clean car) got extremely muddy. As well, our PAWrents said there were no sitting benches so they had to sit on rocks that we also were jumping and playing on. It was also a hard dog park on us pups as there was no shade so we got hot very quickly. We will probably ask our PAWrents to take us here again when it hasn't rained, it isn't super hot, and hopefully when more dogs are around.
