Nice little neighborhood park. Gets the job done if your pup needs to potty or just needs fresh air and likes off leash. Pros: Nice bench to sit on. Not busy. A few Trees. Dog poo bags/garbage can available. Decent sized neighborhood park. The gravel makes it really-really easy to see the poo your dog just did- Cons: Not much parking. No fresh water for hot days. Highway sounds. Pea gravel makes it very hard for the dogs to run and get "exercise". Lots of random poo piles- watch your dog and pick up! People be staring at their phones too much!

  • Neighborhood Convenience: Its embedded location within Wilsonville makes it an incredibly convenient spot for local residents to bring their dogs for daily exercise.
  • Peaceful Atmosphere: Compared to larger, busier dog parks, Ash Meadows often offers a quieter and less crowded environment, which can be ideal for dogs who are easily overwhelmed or for owners seeking a more relaxed experience.
  • Trees for Shade: The presence of "a few Trees" offers some natural shade, which can be a welcome relief on sunnier days for both dogs and their owners.

  • Community-Oriented: The park fosters a sense of community among local dog owners, providing a regular meeting point for neighbors and their pets.

One area that has been noted by visitors is the lack of "fresh water for hot days." This suggests that dog owners should plan to bring their own water for their pets, especially during warmer weather. Additionally, while waste bags are provided, some reviews indicate that "Lots of random poo piles" can be an issue, emphasizing the shared responsibility of all park users to clean up after their dogs. This highlights the ongoing need for vigilant pet ownership to ensure the park remains a pleasant space for everyone.

Conclusion: Why this place is suitable for locals

Ash Meadows (Fenced) Dog Park, while a modest facility, is undeniably suitable for locals in Wilsonville, Oregon, for several compelling reasons. Its primary strength lies in its convenience and accessibility. For residents living nearby, it offers an immediate and practical solution for daily dog walks and off-leash play, eliminating the need for long drives to larger, often more crowded, dog parks. This ease of access encourages regular exercise for canine companions, which is vital for their physical and mental well-being.

When you need to take the dogs to the dog park and don’t want them to get muddy. Awesome place. On the small side but never very busy. It’s all pea gravel so no muddy dogs. There’s even a covered area so you don’t get drenched if it’s raining.

A lot of bugs come out at night. Would be really nice to have the water fountain inside the fenced area, but who am I to complain? It's free and a great place for the pup to run around and meet new friends. Be careful of the holes. There are some really deep ones that could hurt you or your dog.

The park is in deplorable condition. Hardly any gravel at the front third of the park.much garden cloth, used to cover the earth underlayer of the gravel showing. I've seen two people trip on it at the entrance to the park. Ok for dogs, NOT ok for people. Cigarette butts everywhere. Even the light lighting the park are burned out. I've notified management of the park several times but no changes have been done. Don't bother going here it's horrible 😭.
