The Puppy Experience

I had recently got a mini golden doodle from The Puppy Experience and I have to say he is the best dog I could ever ask for! He was seven months when purchased here and is now eight months and everyone who meets Tucker says he is an angel! I cannot thank the owners of The Puppy Experience enough for bringing me and my best friend together and for all of their great help with this process!

Great experience! All of the staff were very nice, were very helpful and knew about the puppies personalities. We have another dog at home she’s an alpha female (mini Aussie). We were a little nervous bringing in a new puppy. One of the girls had great advice when we were expressing our concerns about this. We had originally had our eyes on a mini aussie they had and saw online but she was sick so they had her in the back but the lady was nice enough to hold her so we could see her in person. We also had our eyes on the aussiepoo. Really ended up liking him and his passive yet bubbly personality. We decided he would be a great fit. He’s been with us for almost a month now. Beautiful and loving little guy. Thank you puppy experience!

Stay far away from The Puppy Experience. This store is a glaring example of what’s wrong with the pet industry. It’s overpriced, unprofessional, and exploitative. First, let’s talk about the prices. You’ll be quoted thousands of dollars for a puppy with no real justification. When customers have dared to question the outrageous costs, the owner has replied with gems like, “Because I paid a lot for that dog, that’s why!” This flippant response not only reveals a lack of professionalism but also strongly suggests the dogs are coming from puppy mills. It’s a known fact that puppy mills prioritize profit over the well-being of the animals, churning out litter after litter in unethical and inhumane conditions. The owner’s reasoning does nothing to disprove this—it only reinforces it. Take a look at the owner’s responses to reviews, and you’ll see a pattern of dismissiveness, hostility, and an inability to take constructive criticism. For example: • Instead of apologizing for miscommunication about business hours, the owner attacks the customer for not “calling ahead” or “waiting like MOST people.” This is not how you treat someone who is dissatisfied, especially if they’ve traveled to your store. • When accused of selling puppies sourced from unethical breeders, rather than addressing the issue seriously, the owner labels the reviewer as an “animal activist” and dismisses their concerns as fake. This defensive, rude attitude makes it clear they care more about deflecting blame than improving their practices. • In another review, a customer shared a serious (though questionable) incident involving a child being bitten. Instead of calmly denying the claim or showing concern, the owner resorts to sarcasm and calls the comment “FAKE” while mocking the customer’s story. The owner’s combative nature and refusal to take any accountability raise a critical question: If this is how she treats paying customers, how does she treat the animals in her care? Dogs in puppy mills are treated as commodities, often kept in poor conditions, overbred, and deprived of proper care. Everything about this business—from its pricing to its dismissive responses—points to profit being the sole focus. In one review, the owner even referred to “animal activists” in a disparaging way, as if caring about animal welfare is somehow a bad thing. But shouldn’t she be an animal activist herself? She claims to care about the dogs she sells, yet her words and actions show a blatant disregard for both customers and the animals. Her focus isn’t on ethical practices or promoting animal welfare—it’s on defending her profits and her pride. If this is how the owner treats customers, it raises a frightening question: how does she treat the dogs? The dismissive attitude and aggressive replies scream “all about the money.” Her response to criticism is to deflect or demean, which shows no empathy, responsibility, or genuine care. Customers have spent thousands of dollars here only to feel misled, ignored, or ridiculed. If that weren’t enough, New York State has passed a law banning pet stores like this from selling puppies, and for good reason. Stores like this rely on high-volume breeders (aka puppy mills) and shady practices to maintain their inventory and justify their absurd markups. This business is not about finding loving homes for animals—it’s about squeezing as much money as possible from customers while hiding behind an illusion of care. Do not support this business. When you buy a dog from places like this, you’re funding an unethical, exploitative system that treats animals as products. Adopt, don’t shop. Shelters and rescues are full of animals who need loving homes, and by choosing adoption, you’ll avoid lining the pockets of someone who clearly doesn’t care about her customers—or the dogs she profits from.

My mother purchased 2 golden retriever puppies from here when I was just a child. This was back in 2008-2009, so I’m sure the ownership has changed. Regardless, both dogs (male and female) lived extremely long, healthy lives - zero health issues from the day we brought them home. They both recently passed from natural causes (old age and cancer). But now that I’m an adult and have my own family, I can’t wait to come back in the near future and purchase a dog for my daughter. They always have a super cute selection too :)

Got my two best friends here. They’re so happy, healthy, and social. Could not have asked for a better experience or better assistance in finding the right pups for us! My sons are so grateful to have such well-matched best friends, these puppies are seriously the joy of our household.
