Love pet advantage. Their staff is knowledgeable, they will teach you about what product is best for you (plants, fish, etc.). I have been giving them my business since 1998 (yes new owners and location but still great). I went on my birthday the other day and they set me right up with the below plants and drift wood. My betta loves them. Not to mention they do not have the scandals and corporate structure of the big brands. Support local!

Great store with a large selection of fish and reptile livestock. In northwestern Vermont the aquarium options are slim. Your choice is either petco or petsmart. Thankfully, there is the Pet Advantage as well and while a lot of the food and supplies here are a bit marked up, the fish themselves are a great deal and certainly beat the quality of the nearby chains mentioned. I'll also add that I was going to order some fish online - some rummynose tetras for an aquarium but I was thrilled to see there is a local fish store that sells a variety of freshwater and saltwater fish and now I don't need to worry about shipping costs or fish surviving the shipping. All in all it's a well run store - and I am an aquarium hobbyist that's been keeping fish for almost 20 years.

Bought 7 Dispar Anthias over a month ago and placed them right into a QT system. As it turned out, when you got them in they came in infected with Uronema. I have one left alive and this morning upon observation she has open sores. That’s it for her. Hard lesson as I’ve never tried this species before. I probably never will again. What’s worse and very unfortunate is that the Uronema that the fish came in with is now in your system as well and since it’s a free swimming parasite, removing it will be difficult to say the least as it doesn’t require a fish host to live. I’m glad to have had a QT system up and running. However, in the future, I’ll have to buy from another lfs. I’m not going to risk anymore infected livestock or getting that parasite into my system. Sorry.

Went to the Pet Advantage to update our sons fish tank. Great selection of fish and decorations. Gabe is very knowledgeable and helped our 5 year old pick the fish that would do best in our set up and was very patient with him. Would definitely recommend going there for all your pets needs!
