The Perfect Parrot

I discovered this shop 11 years ago and I'm so glad I did! I have 3 birds purchased from them in the last 11 years - a lovebird that just turned 11, another lovebird that is 3, and my first cockatiel that my husband got me this past Christmas. The lovebirds are adorable, healthy and a joy to have. The cockatiel is about 8 months old and absolutely wonderful. Somewhere he picked up a mocking bird song and I love it! The staff are always wonderful and helpful and they've got a huge selection of toys, food and cages. It's my go to bird store and I'll be going there for many years to come!

These guys are pros! I’ve visited many bird/parrot places recently and this is not the fanciest one but the people definitely know what they are doing, are super knowledgeable and care a lot about birds. Once we got talking they gave us so much information about different kinds of birds. They also hand feed and train their birds so you’ll get a very chilled and trained birds. I would recommend and will probably be going back once I am ready for a bird!

This place has good items for birds such as perches and toys, the smaller birds look healthy, but the bigger birds seemed really sad and depressed. There were 2 African greys there, 1 that had plucked all the chest feathers and shaking horribly, and the other looked just so depressed and hopeless. I also saw a big macaw in the back caged. I asked the lady if they move around, get to walk or explore, and she looked at my like I was crazy, she said they stand there on the same perch all day every day. That was beyond sad!!! Bird stores should be advocates for the mental, emotional, physical health of their birds, this store seems to have lost touch with that and looks like they care more about the money, and business first. I won’t be going back there for this very reason. In my opinion those birds deserve a chance at life and happiness and should be given to a rescue at this point instead of living there like fixtures for years. I hope these people have a heart and recognize that.

I definitely would recommend this store for buying your birds or for purchasing toys for your bird. The birds are pretty pricey for ones you’d originally find cheaper in other places, but what you’re getting out of it is a wonderful lifelong companion. I’ve gotten a bird here one or two years ago and he is just the sweetest thing with the most adorable personality! The high prices are also a way for people to not buy a bird right out on a whim, but instead know what they’re getting themselves in for, especially since you’re never forced to purchase something in here or swayed into doing so. The staff is very knowledgeable about their birds and seem to keep their cool on very busy days (which can be difficult running a store with a lot of birds). The cages for the smaller birds are a bit small, but they’re usually accompanied by a friend and they all seem sweet nonetheless. Each time we visit here there’s always a new bird with a unique personality. All of their birds seem very healthy, which is something to be desired when it comes to bird shops.
