Went in to look for some fish for my tank and this place has such a great variety of fish and coral and anemones. They actually grow their own coral and anemones which is awesome. James helped us out while we were there and he really knows his stuff and was a great help in finding what we needed. This is also the only place I know about that quarantines their fish before putting them in with the others which makes sure you get a perfectly healthy fish that won’t infect your tank. Overall amazing experience and definitely using them for all my aquarium needs. Great pricing too!

A notable feature of this establishment is their reported practice of growing their own corals and anemones, indicating a potential focus on quality and sustainability. Customer reviews provide insights into the store's strengths, particularly its selection and knowledgeable staff, but also highlight some recent concerns regarding variety and pricing.
One enthusiastic customer shared a highly positive experience: "Went in to look for some fish for my tank and this place has such a great variety of fish and coral and anemones. Great pricing too!" This review emphasizes several key aspects of Tank It Easy. The "great variety of fish and coral and anemones" suggests a well-stocked store catering to saltwater aquarium enthusiasts. The unique practice of growing their own coral and anemones is highlighted as "awesome," potentially indicating a commitment to providing healthy and possibly sustainably sourced specimens. The positive interaction with an employee named James, who "really knows his stuff" and was "a great help," points to knowledgeable and helpful staff. Furthermore, the reviewer specifically mentions Tank It Easy's practice of quarantining their fish, which is a significant benefit for customers as it greatly reduces the risk of introducing diseases into their home aquariums. The overall experience is described as "amazing," and the customer intends to use Tank It Easy for all their future aquarium needs, also noting "great pricing."
However, another customer, who identifies as a former regular, expresses some concerns about recent changes: "I use to come here often to see the corals since their prices were good for the corals such as the colonies. Recently they have been having less variety and recently came in to see some of the coral prices have gone up. It seems its not so much worth coming in for anymore. was a regular but not sure if I'll be coming as often due to the place prices being higher." This review provides a contrasting perspective, indicating a potential shift in the store's offerings and pricing strategy. The former regular initially frequented Tank It Easy for its good prices on corals, particularly colonies. However, they have observed a recent decrease in the variety of corals available and an increase in their prices. This has led to a reassessment of the store's value, making the customer unsure about continuing to visit as frequently. This suggests that while Tank It Easy may have been known for its coral selection and pricing in the past, these aspects might be in flux.
Based on these reviews, the environment of Tank It Easy in Chicago, IL, is likely one that showcases a wide variety of saltwater aquatic life, including fish, corals, and anemones. The fact that they grow their own coral and anemones might suggest dedicated tanks and systems for this purpose, potentially indicating a focus on the health and quality of these specimens. The presence of knowledgeable staff like James implies that the store aims to provide customers with expert advice and assistance. However, the comment about decreasing variety might suggest that the inventory or display might have changed recently.
The services offered at Tank It Easy include the sale of a diverse range of saltwater fish, corals, and anemones. A significant service is the provision of healthy fish through their quarantine process, which demonstrates a commitment to the well-being of the aquatic life they sell and the success of their customers' aquariums. The presence of knowledgeable staff who can assist customers in finding the right products and provide advice is another key service. The store also appears to have been known for good pricing on corals, although this may be changing.
The features of Tank It Easy include its wide variety of saltwater fish, corals, and anemones, the unique practice of growing their own coral and anemones, the implementation of a fish quarantine process to ensure health, and the presence of knowledgeable staff like James who can provide expert assistance. The pricing was initially considered a positive feature, particularly for corals, but recent increases have been noted as a potential drawback.
