Need a water plant and the previous Petco’s selection was terrible, so I stopped in here. A lot cleaner, the plants looked better and after asking for help, I selected this plant. It came with an identifying tag Ludwigia palustris, but upon looking it up I discovered this is NOT that plant. I did a deep dive on water plants online and discovered Petco often sells plants that aren’t water plants at all - which is what I fell victim to. The plant I purchased isn’t meant to be in water at all. It’s called an earth star and can be used as a terrarium plant, NOT an aquarium plant. As the employees aren’t plant experts, they have no idea what they are selling and unfortunately, I am still without a much needed water plant.

Petco Introduce

Welcome to the Petco located at 4840 N Pulaski Rd Ste 100 in Chicago, Illinois (IL 60630, USA). As your local Pet Store Near Me, we can be reached at (773) 283-1248 or our mobile number, +1 773-283-1248. Petco is a well-established retailer that aims to provide a comprehensive selection of products and services for pet owners. While specific details about the store's overall environment aren't explicitly mentioned in the provided reviews, Petco stores generally strive to offer a clean and organized shopping space for customers to find the items they need for their animal companions.

Based on recent customer feedback, experiences at the Petco on N Pulaski Rd in Chicago appear to be varied. One customer visited the store specifically seeking a water plant for their aquarium, noting that the selection at a previous Petco location was unsatisfactory. At this store, they found the environment to be cleaner, and the plants appeared to be in better condition. After seeking assistance from an employee, they selected a plant that was tagged as *Ludwigia palustris*. However, upon researching this plant online, the customer discovered that the purchased plant was not actually *Ludwigia palustris* and was not meant to be kept in water at all. Instead, it was identified as an "earth star," a type of bromeliad suitable for terrariums. This experience highlights a potential issue with the accuracy of plant identification and the expertise of the staff in the aquatic plant section.

The customer who encountered this issue expressed concern that Petco may frequently sell terrestrial plants as aquatic plants, indicating a lack of specialized knowledge among the employees in this particular product category. This resulted in the customer not being able to find the needed water plant despite visiting the store. This review serves as a cautionary note for customers seeking specific items, especially those requiring specialized knowledge, such as aquatic plants. It underscores the importance of verifying information and potentially conducting independent research before making a purchase, particularly when relying on staff recommendations.

On a more positive note, another customer reported a "very positive experience" at the same Petco location. This customer was looking for a suitable enclosure for newly adopted guinea pigs and found that the store had everything they needed. Furthermore, they encountered a price discrepancy between the online listing and the in-store price. The store readily honored the lower online price, which the customer appreciated. This suggests a willingness to provide good customer service and honor their pricing policies. The customer also described the staff as "very friendly and helpful," indicating a positive interaction with the employees during their shopping experience.

The contrasting nature of these two reviews suggests that while some aspects of the Petco on N Pulaski Rd in Chicago, such as staff friendliness and the willingness to honor price discrepancies, are commendable, there may be inconsistencies in product knowledge across different departments, as highlighted by the issue with the aquarium plant. This indicates that the quality of assistance and the accuracy of product information might vary depending on the specific product category and the employee assisting the customer.

As a Pet Store Near Me, Petco on N Pulaski Rd likely offers a wide range of products beyond aquarium plants and small animal enclosures. These typically include food for various types of pets (dogs, cats, birds, fish, reptiles, small animals), treats, toys, bedding, grooming supplies, health and wellness products, and accessories like leashes, collars, and carriers. Petco stores generally aim to be a convenient one-stop shop for pet owners in the local community.

While the reviews do not specifically mention any ongoing promotions at this particular Petco location, Petco as a national chain frequently offers various sales, discounts, and loyalty programs. Customers in the Chicago area are encouraged to inquire in-store or check the official Petco website for any current promotions or special offers available at the N Pulaski Rd location. These could include discounts on specific brands of pet food, seasonal sales on toys and accessories, or rewards programs for frequent shoppers.

In conclusion, the Petco at 4840 N Pulaski Rd Ste 100 in Chicago serves as a local Pet Store Near Me offering a range of pet supplies. Customer experiences indicate generally friendly and helpful staff, as well as a willingness to honor price discrepancies. However, there may be limitations in specialized product knowledge, as evidenced by the issue with the misidentified aquarium plant. Local pet owners visiting this Petco should feel encouraged by the positive reports of customer service but should also exercise caution and verify information, especially when purchasing items requiring specific expertise. For all your general pet supply needs, the Petco on N Pulaski Rd aims to be a convenient option in the Chicago area. For the most up-to-date information on product availability and any ongoing promotions, it is recommended to contact the store directly at (773) 283-1248 or visit their location.

Had a very positive experience at this store. Was having trouble finding a decent enclosure for my newly adopted guinea pigs. The store had everything I needed. They even honored a price discrepancy. There was a different price listed online than in the store and they had no trouble honoring the lower price. Very friendly and helpful staff.

I took my dog here for grooming. My dog has really bad anxiety, and I know she is a lot to handle at the groomers. Elani (not sure if I am spelling that right) did an amazing job handling the situation, and my dog looks great!! Very thankful for the service given in this situation.

Firts and last time I take my dog to this place, they left him looking like a donkey had bitten his hair off, so much so that we took care of his Yorkie hair at home and this “groomer” destroyed his entire haircut, it was left horrible, plus the dog was extremely anxious and nervous, They didn't even clean his genitals well or remove the hair from his anus, my poor dog was unrecognizable. DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOGS THERE

Great groomers! My dog is pretty difficult to groom and doesn't tolerate alot. He is a rescue and was never groomed for the first 2 years of his life, even though he has long hair, so he still doesn't tolerate grooming well. The groomers at Petco do a great job and he doesn't seem as stressed as he did with other groomers. Even though this is farther away from my home, it is worth the drive. He is not happy to go, but he does go in and doesn't shake in fear like he did at his other groomer, and he looks and smells great!
