Something’s Fishy is a great store with friendly and helpful staff. The worker took the time to answer my questions and gave great advice. The fish tanks might look a little dirty at first, but it’s clear they’re well-maintained with beneficial bacteria that’s good for the fish. It’s a great place for anyone who loves fishkeeping.

Something's Fishy Introduce
For local residents in Miami, Florida, searching under the category "Pet Store Near Me," particularly those with a passion for the underwater world or an interest in starting or maintaining an aquarium, Something's Fishy, located at 11730 Biscayne Blvd #103, is emerging as a highly recommended destination. The available customer reviews consistently praise the store for its friendly and knowledgeable staff, the apparent health of its aquatic inhabitants, and the valuable advice offered to both seasoned and novice fishkeepers.
One enthusiastic reviewer encapsulates the positive experience: "Something’s Fishy is a great store with friendly and helpful staff. The worker took the time to answer my questions and gave great advice." This straightforward yet impactful statement highlights two crucial aspects of any successful pet store: the quality of the staff and the level of customer service provided. The fact that an employee "took the time" to address the reviewer's inquiries and offered "great advice" suggests a commitment to customer education and support, which is particularly valuable in the often complex world of fishkeeping. This indicates that the staff at Something's Fishy are not just sales associates but are also knowledgeable enthusiasts willing to share their expertise.
The same reviewer also addresses a potential initial concern about the appearance of the tanks: "The fish tanks might look a little dirty at first, but it’s clear they’re well-maintained with beneficial bacteria that’s good for the fish." This is a crucial observation that demonstrates a deeper understanding of healthy aquarium ecosystems. Established tanks often have a biofilm and beneficial bacteria that are essential for the nitrogen cycle, which keeps the water parameters stable and safe for the fish. This reviewer's insight reassures potential customers that the appearance might be indicative of a thriving environment rather than neglect, suggesting that the store prioritizes the health and well-being of its aquatic life over purely aesthetic concerns. The reviewer concludes with a clear recommendation: "It’s a great place for anyone who loves fishkeeping," solidifying the store's reputation as a haven for aquarium enthusiasts.
Another brief but equally positive review reinforces the friendly atmosphere and highlights the variety of aquatic life available: "The guy there is really nice. We bought a blue crayfish, this little guy we named Joker lol, and another little all white fish that caught my eye." This testimonial further emphasizes the welcoming nature of the staff ("The guy there is really nice"). More importantly, it provides concrete examples of the store's inventory, showcasing not only various types of fish ("another little all white fish") but also invertebrates like a "blue crayfish." This suggests that Something's Fishy caters to a range of interests within the aquarium hobby, offering more than just common fish species. The personal anecdote of naming the crayfish ("Joker lol") indicates a positive and engaging purchasing experience.
Based on these reviews, the environment of Something's Fishy in Miami appears to be one that prioritizes the health of its aquatic life. While the tanks might not be sparklingly sterile (which, as one reviewer points out, can be a good sign in a healthy aquarium), they are "well-maintained with beneficial bacteria," indicating a focus on creating stable and biologically sound ecosystems for the fish and other creatures. The presence of a variety of aquatic species, including different types of fish and invertebrates like crayfish, suggests a diverse inventory to cater to different preferences. The friendly and helpful nature of the staff likely contributes to a welcoming and informative atmosphere, where customers feel comfortable asking questions and seeking advice.
The services offered at Something's Fishy primarily revolve around the sale of a diverse range of aquatic life, including various types of saltwater and freshwater fish (implied by the general term "fishkeeping") and invertebrates such as blue crayfish. A significant service also appears to be the provision of knowledgeable advice and guidance on fishkeeping practices, as highlighted by the staff taking the time to answer questions and offer valuable insights. While not explicitly stated, it is highly probable that Something's Fishy also stocks a variety of aquarium supplies necessary for setting up and maintaining healthy tanks, such as filters, heaters, lighting, substrate, decorations, and fish food. The focus on creating healthy environments suggests that they likely offer products that support these biological systems. However, the reviews do not provide information about services beyond retail and advice, such as aquarium maintenance services or custom tank setups.
The key features of Something's Fishy in Miami include a friendly and helpful staff who are knowledgeable about fishkeeping and willing to provide valuable advice to customers of all experience levels. The store is characterized by a focus on maintaining healthy aquarium environments, even if the tanks might not have an immediately pristine appearance. They offer a diverse selection of aquatic life, including various types of fish and invertebrates. The positive feedback from multiple customers underscores the welcoming atmosphere and the quality of guidance provided. The store appears to be a dedicated resource for the local fishkeeping community.
No specific promotional information is available in these reviews. Aquarium stores sometimes offer discounts on starter kits, sales on specific species of fish or invertebrates, or loyalty programs for regular customers. However, there is no mention of any such promotions in the provided feedback for Something's Fishy. Local fishkeeping enthusiasts in Miami are encouraged to visit the store at 11730 Biscayne Blvd #103 or call them at (305) 982-8034 to inquire about their current stock, any ongoing promotions, and to experience their friendly and knowledgeable service firsthand.
In conclusion, for local residents in Miami, Florida, searching for a "Pet Store Near Me" with a specialization in aquatic life, Something's Fishy appears to be an excellent choice. With its friendly and helpful staff who are passionate about fishkeeping and dedicated to providing sound advice, coupled with a focus on maintaining healthy environments for a diverse array of fish and invertebrates, Something's Fishy offers a welcoming and informative experience for both beginners and experienced hobbyists alike. Sep 22, 2024 · Net KohenThe best quality fish. Ignore the one star reviews about the service, few places in Miami you can find rare fish not seen in most places. Been going for years and always healthy fish.
Oct 30, 2024 · H PWe decided to start a salt water tank aquarium and thought that we would just purchase a tank and some fish from PetSmart. When we came into the store and spoke with Kay, immediately we realized that it was much more work than we anticipated, but Kay and his entire team have been so helpful and informative. About a month in, our fish became sick and Kay was so helpful in giving us instructions on how to save our fish. He was great about keeping in touch with us everyday to see how the treatment was working and how to adjust, when needed. We consider the guys at Something’s Fishy our extended fish family.
