Earlier today I visited Puppy City on Bird road and was shocked to see the condition of the puppies. Two of the puppies specifically were very apparently malnourished and you could see every bone in their body( see photos below). The other fluffier puppies were in the same condition but it was not as obvious because their fur concealed it. Furthermore they have a policy that when you come to play with them you have to pay 2 dollars to feed them treats however, they were not at all treats. It was a cup of kibbles and the dogs all fought over a bite. Customers should not be paying to feed dogs the food that they require as growing dogs. There was also an instance where when of the dogs peed on the floor and when I told the lady working there she blatantly ignored me because she was on her cell phone. It got to the point where another one of the puppies started drinking the urine which is an extreme health hazard. The puppies are all also cover in urine and feces. It was outright disgusting and disturbing to see how these dogs were living. If I could give this 0 starts I would

Welcome to Puppy City
For individuals in Miami, Florida, and the surrounding areas searching for a "Pet Store Near Me," Puppy City, located at 6344 Bird Rd, Miami, FL 33155, is a business that appears in this category. As the name suggests, this establishment likely focuses on selling puppies, potentially of various breeds. However, the limited customer reviews available online present a starkly contrasting view of the store, raising significant concerns about the welfare of the animals while also highlighting a positive adoption experience for one customer. This introduction aims to provide an objective overview based on these conflicting accounts.
One customer recounts a deeply disturbing visit to Puppy City. According to this review, the condition of the puppies was "shocking." The reviewer specifically noted that two of the puppies appeared "very apparently malnourished," with their bones visibly protruding (accompanied by photographic evidence, though not provided here). The reviewer suggests that other "fluffier" puppies were in similar condition, although their fur made it less obvious. Furthermore, this customer describes a policy where visitors are charged $2 to feed the puppies treats, which they claim were not treats at all but "a cup of kibbles" over which the dogs "all fought over a bite." The reviewer strongly criticizes this policy, arguing that customers should not have to pay to provide growing dogs with essential food. The review also details an instance of neglect where a puppy urinated on the floor, and a staff member allegedly ignored the reviewer's notification because she was engaged in a cell phone conversation. This led to another puppy attempting to drink the urine, which the reviewer rightly identifies as an "extreme health hazard." The overall hygiene of the puppies is also criticized, with the reviewer stating they were "all also cover in urine and feces," concluding that the conditions were "outright disgusting and disturbing." The reviewer expresses such profound dissatisfaction that they would give the store zero stars if possible.
In stark contrast, another customer shares a positive experience, expressing gratitude to Puppy City for their "beautiful best friend," a Dalmatian puppy. This reviewer describes their new pet as "so wonderful and such a great addition" to their family, noting that the puppy is "so well mannered and so wonderful with everyone." They refer to their Dalmatian as "the best" and mention taking him everywhere. This customer found Puppy City to be "very professional and helpful" throughout the adoption process and thanks the store for their assistance. This review presents a completely different perspective, highlighting a successful adoption and positive interaction with the staff.
The extreme divergence between these two reviews makes it challenging to form a definitive overall assessment of Puppy City. The first review raises very serious allegations regarding the health and living conditions of the puppies, as well as concerning staff behavior and questionable policies. Malnourishment, unsanitary living conditions, and apparent neglect are significant welfare issues that would be deeply concerning to any potential customer looking to acquire a puppy from a "Pet Store Near Me." The policy of charging customers to feed the puppies also raises ethical questions about the basic care provided by the establishment.
On the other hand, the second review describes a positive adoption experience, resulting in a beloved family pet. This suggests that at least some customers have had successful and satisfactory interactions with Puppy City. However, this positive account does not negate the serious concerns raised in the first review regarding the general care of the puppies in the store.
Given these conflicting reports, it is impossible to provide a definitive description of the environment of Puppy City. The negative review paints a picture of unsanitary conditions, with puppies covered in urine and feces, and potentially overcrowded or inadequate housing leading to competition for food. The positive review does not offer any details about the store's environment.
Similarly, the services offered by Puppy City are not fully clear. It can be inferred that they sell puppies. The positive review mentions an "adoption process," which suggests they facilitate the sale or adoption of puppies to new homes. The negative review highlights a controversial "play with them" policy that involves paying to feed the puppies. It is unknown if they offer other services commonly associated with pet stores, such as grooming, the sale of pet supplies (food, toys, etc.), or veterinary care.
Features of Puppy City that can be identified from the reviews include:
- Sale of puppies, potentially of various breeds (Dalmatian mentioned).
- A policy of charging customers $2 to feed the puppies kibble when interacting with them.
- An "adoption process" for acquiring puppies.
- Allegations of malnourishment and unsanitary living conditions for some puppies (from one review).
- Reports of professional and helpful service during at least one adoption process (from another review).
There is no promotional information, such as discounts or special offers, mentioned in either of the provided reviews.
For local users in Miami, FL, searching for a "Pet Store Near Me" and considering Puppy City, the available reviews present a significant dilemma. The serious allegations of animal neglect in one review should be a major cause for concern. Potential customers who prioritize the ethical treatment and well-being of animals will likely be very hesitant to support a business where such conditions are reported. The photographic evidence mentioned in the negative review (though not provided here) would further substantiate these claims if available elsewhere online.
While the positive review indicates that some customers have had good experiences with adoptions from Puppy City, this does not necessarily reflect the overall care and environment within the store. It is possible that some puppies are healthier or receive better care than others, or that the adoption process itself is handled professionally despite issues with the general living conditions.
Given the gravity of the allegations in the negative review, potential customers are strongly advised to exercise extreme caution. If considering acquiring a puppy from Puppy City, it would be essential to visit the store in person and thoroughly assess the health and living conditions of all the animals. Any signs of malnourishment, lethargy, unsanitary environments, or neglect should be taken very seriously. It would also be prudent to inquire about the store's animal care practices, veterinary oversight, and the source of their puppies.
The phone number for Puppy City is (786) 603-9324 or +1 786-603-9324, and their address is 6344 Bird Rd, Miami, FL 33155, USA. Contacting the store might provide some information, but the direct observation of the conditions within the store is crucial given the conflicting customer experiences. It would also be wise to seek additional reviews from other sources to gain a broader perspective on Puppy City's reputation and practices.
In conclusion, Puppy City in Miami, FL, presents a complex picture based on the limited online reviews. While one customer reports a positive adoption experience, another provides disturbing details about the alleged malnourishment and unsanitary living conditions of the puppies, as well as questionable policies and staff behavior. Local users searching for a "Pet Store Near Me" should carefully consider these conflicting accounts and exercise extreme caution, prioritizing the welfare of the animals if they choose to visit this establishment.

Oct 24, 2024 · Maria Hernandez-CaminoThe owner/team of Puppy City are the absolute best people ever. So kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. We came from Jersey on vacation and fell in love with Romeo (a doxie & poodle mix) who was only 4 lbs & 2 months old. If you’re ever looking to get a puppy, please go to Puppy City!!!!
Oct 24, 2024 · Marina ZelayaWe had the best experience at Puppy City of Miami. We adopted Buddy our little shitzu last summer and he has been a joy. Samantha has always been so kind and full of information concerning Buddy. My daughter sent me there because during Covid she would take my granddaughter there just to play with the dogs. She wanted a dog 🐶 so bad. Well with that said we went to Puppy city and met Samantha and we told her what we wanted. She was very helpful in our selection of addition to our family. Samantha said keep in touch and from that time when we picked up Buddy we have and she has responded Back just to see how Buddy was doing . She is so dedicated to every animal in her business. I would recommend Puppy City to anyone looking for an addition to their family. She will help you sit with you and she has the kindest heart when it comes to placing the dogs and families for their best fit. Thank you again and again Samantha and Puppy city for adding the perfect puppy to our family. God bless you and continue to do what you do because you are the best . Keep the faith . Great job Samantha . I sent you some pictures of Buddy
Jun 05, 2024 · Char BerbrickAbsolutely love Puppy City. Have two pups from here (Cullen & Tyler) and they’re such a delight, and love coming back to visit. A local small business, only $2 to support which is great in my opinion when you consider most places keep their dogs in cages for hours on end, and they’re always supporting/facilitating community initiatives
