I went into this location this past weekend. The beta fish are put in the back where customers don’t see when they first walk in. The water in this beta fish tanks are abhorrent. They have some sort of water system that I assume is supposed to recycle the old water and pump in new water, but it does not work. These tanks have gunk on the inside plastic making it difficult to see in. To allow these fish to live in this environment is shameful. If the fish tanks were up front, I know it would be a priority to keep them clean. Also, while sitting on the floor with my toddler, I was able to see a different perspective of the store. They don’t sweep or mop underneath displays. There are dead crickets, dust, and trash under every display that people can’t visibly see while standing around. This confirms my belief that they only clean what people can easily see. The dust under displays isn’t much of a concern, but I mentioned it to prove my point. If you own a pet store then take care of the pets in the store. All of them. It’s quite simple. If you don’t want to, then don’t sell that particular pet. Beta fish are obviously not money makers like the dogs and cats are, so they are literally forgotten about and neglected. Companies like this are very transparent about their main goal, money. Not the welfare of the pets they have in their care who depend on them for survival. I’ll never return again. Being in that store is just depressing and I already know they won’t improve their treatment of animals. Not to mention they keep selling rabbits when they aren’t allowed to unless they are spayed or neutered. I know for a fact they have been fined multiple times for this infraction, but they don’t care because rabbits bring in money! Especially around Easter time which is right around the corner. Can’t wait to see all the dumped rabbits around the neighborhoods come May. Not Petland’s problem tho.

Petland Las Vegas Introduce
For local pet owners in Las Vegas, NV, Petland Las Vegas is located at 8800 W Charleston Blvd #3. While Petland is a chain of pet stores offering various pet supplies and animals for sale, it is important to consider recent feedback from customers regarding this specific location.
Customer reviews raise significant concerns about the welfare of animals at Petland Las Vegas. One reviewer described the conditions of the betta fish tanks as "abhorrent," noting unclean water, gunk buildup, and a malfunctioning water system. This customer expressed distress over the living environment of the fish, suggesting potential neglect due to their placement in a less visible area of the store.
The same reviewer also reported unsanitary conditions beneath store displays, including dead crickets, dust, and trash, implying a lack of thorough cleaning and a focus only on easily visible areas. This observation led to the reviewer's belief that the store prioritizes profit over the well-being of all its animals, particularly those perceived as less profitable, such as betta fish.
Another customer shared a troubling experience involving the purchase of a puppy. Despite assurances of the puppy's health and veterinary checks, the customer quickly discovered the puppy was sick with Giardia. The customer's veterinarian later indicated that the puppy had been treated with antibiotics and other medications for months prior to sale, information that was allegedly withheld by the store. This lack of disclosure caused significant distress and health concerns for the new pet owners.
The same review also mentioned alleged repeated fines against Petland for selling unspayed or unneutered rabbits, suggesting a disregard for local regulations and potential contribution to the issue of dumped rabbits. These reviews collectively paint a concerning picture regarding animal care and transparency at this Petland Las Vegas location.
Given these serious allegations and negative experiences shared by recent customers, local users are strongly advised to consider this information carefully before visiting Petland Las Vegas for pet supplies or to purchase animals. It may be prudent to seek alternative pet stores in the area that prioritize animal welfare and provide transparent information about the health and condition of the animals they sell.

Mar 05, 2025 · Stephanie HutnerPurchased a puppy at this store few weeks ago. Asked the sales person several times if puppy was healthy and no medical issues. She said they see local vet and do blood work. After taking puppy home, realized quickly he was sick and no blood work is done. Only vaccines. Come to find out he had Giardia. After my Vet reviewed all vaccines and other preventative care, she told me they were treating him for months with antibiotics and other meds. They had an obligation to tell us and did not. Instead of enjoying our beautiful boy, we are going through hell trying to get him well. Be careful.
Apr 01, 2025 · Valerie FaaitaThe staff is always very helpful and they go above and beyond when buying anything. They have offered a refund if I got the wrong dog food and needed to bring back but I have never needed to bring anything back. Great store, great service. No complaints at all. ♥️
Mar 11, 2025 · Michelle PondtI waited 10 years to get the perfect best friend, luckily I had Chelsea and the Petland Staff to walk me through it. I love Chelsea’s perspective that the dog chooses you, not the other way around. She patiently helped me until I held the puppy that has now grown into a 5 month old! And she still texts me constantly to tell me any tips, tricks, or just to listen if I’m having puppy blues. Meant to provide this update sooner, but thank you guys!
Jan 09, 2025 · Alanah SwayneI have been trying to get info on a puppy at this store for several weeks now. I've emailed, called, left message. No response. It's frustrating because now it's my mom's birthday I wanted to surprise her with this little guy. And I can't get any help! I would just go into the store but it's a two hour drive. And I don't want to get all the way out there and find out he's not available. How do you make any sales or run a store where the phone is never answered and customer requests are never addressed?
