Great store and great service from the 2 women working. They were both very helpful and sweet. I went in looking for a dog harness that was recommended and it was half the price online. They matched the price and I saved 50%.

Just wanted to get a some fish but the employee said she couldn’t help for 20 minutes because she was the only one there. Mind you there was absolutely no one in the store so no reason she couldn’t help me out. I was about to buy a bunch of fish by they just lost my business due to that employee.

Usually I have lots of good to say about this place but since I moved from Texas to Colorado Springs this place has been somewhat rough, okay let me start. 1. We order online pickup, we go in and let them know then they say on the walkie talkies to go grab it and we end up waiting at the register awkwardly until someone gets it for us. To fix that issue we just go in now cause they are the only supplier of a certain food. 2. We did rabie shots one day and they had the event there at Petco the shots were fast and painless but what got me was we scheduled and we're told it was a strict schedule so we were there at are expected time and when we showed up there was no line and like 8 people with their dogs and it was just chaotic and unorganized. 3. Lastly I took both my Huskies to their groomers they had my dogs for 4 hours and was very disappointed with the results, we planned and asked them to do their fur coats and needless to say they did a bad job all I can say is that they did cut their nails but all the other requests were ignored. Literally smelled and felt like they just did a basic wash and cut their nails for a full service price. Not impressed but fortunately not all locations are this bad but this one is.

I paid for a banana plant (nymphoides aquatica) for my betta fish about a week ago and tiny bugs are multiplying in my tank now!!😠

My horrible Petco experience began yesterday when I bought a Ware cage online for my guinea pigs and picked it up at the Nevada Avenue store. When I opened it at home, I discovered that it had a manufacture defect. The slots that fit the shelf to the base were cut wrong. I have one of these cages already and wanted another so I could swap them out when cleaning -- always having one clean one. I tried the shelf on the cage I had, and the top fit as it is supposed to making it clear that the factory messed up. So I hauled the cage back to the store and tried to exchange. The sales guy I first spoke with was not helpful. He was intent on forcing the pieces together and said he could put it together that way. I was horrified, as I didn't want to have to force the cage together every time I cleaned it! Who would want to do that with a cage that cost over $100?!? He should never have even suggested it or tried to do that to the cage. He actually said that plastic is never perfect. Thankfully, the manager, a very nice woman who I've spoken with at that Petco before took over helping me and pulled another identical cage to see if it had the same defect, and it did. So she refunded my money. I asked her if I went to the Uintah store, if they would also be able to open the box and determine if the cage they had in stock was defective too. She said they would. So I went to the Uintah store, found the cage on the shelf and took it up front and asked that the box be opened because the same cage at the other store had a factory defect, and I didn't want to go all the way home with another defective cage and then have to come all the way back to return it. An employee, a woman with green hair, by the register said no, it was against their policy to open boxes. I asked to speak to a manager, and she said she was the manager. I told her that the manager at the Nevada Avenue store said the box could be opened. She repeated that it was not their policy to do that. I then told her that if there was no defect, I'd be buying it, and, if there was, they couldn't sell it anyway. Like a broken record, she repeated it wasn't their policy to open boxed items. So, they would rather put a customer through all sorts of trouble -- loss of time, expense of gas, and the disappointment of discovering a defective item rather than just opening the box! This is outrageously bad customer service! If Target stocked everything I needed for my pets, I would never shop at Petco. As it is, I will be going to Walmart for this cage -- it costs less there anyway, but what a hassle after everything I went through at Petco to have to begin again to try and buy one, non-defective guinea pig cage.
