I made a purchase on 04/08/2025 at petco at Florence commons. I was helped by associate Amber A. Which provided amazing customer service and she made aware she was new. Unfortunately I did not have my receipt but was able to pull up the transaction on my mobile bank app. Amber checked the back logs and she was unable to find the Transaction. If more employees assisted their customers the way Amber A. assisted just imagine how the clientele would grow. Now my only question is if I was able to pull up on mobile app. Why isn't the transaction showing on the back log.

Ive spent a LOT of $ in Florence store and online, (I travel so I’ve visited Columbia and Sumter SC( awesome store) and they don’t even look like belong to same company as Florence store, they are clean, friendly and helpful…) whoever manager of Sumter store is, knows the way a store should look and operate, staff interacted with, helpful, nice and knowledgeable. Today my absolute LAST visit ever to the florence store… They need to do an employee house cleaning job, because the employees are hurting this location! Since found out No store manager things have gotten even worse than before…the store is maned by floor employees, Darlene and blond training person ( exception the stocking staff) that have bad attitudes, not friendly, no help and never see approach customer “ unless you happened to run head on into them, never “can I help you” instead you have to chase them down… even made 2 trips today, wanted item there was no label/price on live animal item, told the person over that area stepped out of store, before had chance to speak directly so other employee there I told them , ok I’ll run some errands then stop back by to get price for item and pick up. I stop back by 1.5 hr later and question an employee Darlene, said had no idea, I asked if she could find out my second trip by the store, she goes to back to ? Aquatic manager and then reappears , asked her did she get info I had requested about an item, she said “I can’t ask employee a question while on lunch break in back… “ really” after I made effort to make second trip by for the item and this is what I’m told you can’t ask a simple ? After I made effort to visit a second time to allow time to get that info?????This place has become a joke!!!! Not to mention the marine area lights off most of time and algae ridden would be afraid to buy anything there… Forward going to petsmart and if they don’t have order online..The absolute worst store not to mention nasty,

I am VERY disappointed with PetCo grooming. My dog had a 12pm appointment and I don’t live far from there and I got off work a few minutes early BUT the Christmas traffic in my city was HORRIBLE & set me back an extra 5 minutes than I would’ve normally took. I get there, nobody was at the desk and nobody was in the grooming room. I stood there for almost two minutes before someone came to check me in. I give them my dog information and he immediately tells me I need to reschedule because I’m late. It was 12:12. I asked him why because I was within the 15 minutes and traffic is crazy. I told him I don’t know their schedule and I didn’t know they only had two people grooming . I told him that I should’ve been notified earlier in the day so that I could accommodate accordingly. He tells be because it’s only two of them and they have a lot of dogs so they couldn’t take her. Then proceeds to look for another appointment date and tells me the earliest they had was the 28th. This dude was really nonchalant with me the entire time, didn’t look at me, nor did he say much of anything. I asked for the manager, manager came and tried to put the blame on ME. She says “well if you knew you were going to be late, you should’ve called” as if she didn’t just hear what I said! Especially about the part of them only having two groomers that day. then she tells me “well, it’s up to her groomer if she still wanted to take her or not”. I asked where is her groomer so I could speak with her and she points at a girl that had just started on a dog literally when the dude finally came out to talk to me. then she tells me again that I should’ve called & the groomer would’ve made time to still take my dog. I asked her “WELL ISN’T THAT WHY Y’ALL HAVE A 15 minute policy?!?!”. Before I could say anything else & really told her what was on my mind, I walked off!! PETSMART WOULD NEVER!!!!!!

I feed my yorkie Merrick brand dog foods & also the Instinct raw mixers. I like that Petco has standards for the brands they carry, so even if a dog owner knows nothing about dog nutrition, you can buy anything on the shelf at Petco & know it's a quality product. Staff is usually pretty helpful & products are usually in stock.
