I worked with Hailey the cashier and she was absolutely incredible with my son. She let him look at the crickets while she was grabbing them out. She was extremely patient and she had a pretty cool lizard on her shoulder. She deserves a raise.

Petco Introduce
For pet owners in Rochester, New Hampshire, Petco, situated at 120 Market Pl Blvd Ste 8, serves as a local option within the "Pet Store Near Me" category, offering a wide array of pet supplies and potentially live animals. Customer reviews provide a glimpse into the shopping experience at this location. One reviewer recounts an exceptionally positive interaction with a cashier named Hailey, highlighting her incredible patience and friendliness with their son, even allowing him to observe the crickets being retrieved and showcasing a lizard she had on her shoulder. This positive experience led to a strong commendation for Hailey. In contrast, another reviewer, who purchases saltwater fish from both the Rochester and Dover Petco locations, expresses a preference for the Dover store due to a perceived greater knowledge of the fish by a specific employee there. This suggests that while the Rochester store may offer a range of products, including live fish, the expertise in specialized areas like saltwater aquariums might be perceived differently by some customers compared to other locations within the same chain. This introduction will explore the likely environment, services, and features of the Rochester Petco based on these limited but insightful pieces of feedback.
The environment of the Petco in Rochester, as part of a national chain, likely follows a standard retail layout for pet stores. This would typically include aisles stocked with various pet food brands, treats, toys, grooming supplies, bedding, and other accessories for a variety of animals, including dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, and small mammals. There would also be designated areas for housing live animals that are available for sale, such as fish tanks, small mammal enclosures, bird cages, and reptile habitats. The positive interaction with Hailey suggests a customer-friendly atmosphere, at least in some areas of the store, where staff are willing to engage with customers and their children in a positive way. The mention of a cashier having a lizard on her shoulder hints at a potentially engaging and pet-centric environment where employees might even bring their own (approved) animals. However, the preference for the Dover store's fish department by another customer implies that the knowledge and setup in the aquatics section might vary between locations.
The services offered at the Petco in Rochester would typically include the retail sale of a wide variety of pet food and supplies for different animal species. They likely sell live animals, including fish (both freshwater and saltwater), small mammals (like hamsters and guinea pigs), birds, and reptiles. Depending on the store, they might also offer services such as dog grooming, in-store veterinary clinics (often run by third-party providers), pet adoption events in partnership with local shelters, and potentially self-service dog wash stations. The positive review about Hailey assisting a customer's son with crickets suggests they sell live feeder insects for reptiles or other insectivorous pets. The comparison to the Dover store specifically regarding saltwater fish expertise implies that the Rochester location does sell saltwater fish, but at least one customer perceives the staff there as less knowledgeable in this specific area.
Several features of the Rochester Petco can be inferred from the customer feedback. A notable positive feature is the friendly and patient staff, exemplified by Hailey's interaction with a child. This suggests that at least some employees are excellent at customer service and creating positive experiences. The availability of live animals, including a variety of fish (freshwater and saltwater) and potentially reptiles (as Hailey had a lizard), is another standard feature of many Petco stores. However, a potential area for improvement, based on one review, might be the depth of knowledge of the staff in specialized areas like saltwater fish keeping, at least compared to other Petco locations. The presence of a cashier with a personal pet (the lizard) could be seen as a unique and engaging feature, suggesting a pet-friendly culture among some employees.
The contrasting feedback highlights the importance of considering individual experiences and specific needs. For general pet supplies and potentially a positive interaction with staff like Hailey, the Rochester Petco appears to be a viable option. However, for customers specifically seeking in-depth knowledge and expertise in saltwater fish, the review suggests that the Dover location might be preferred. This indicates that while both stores are part of the same chain, there can be variations in the knowledge and focus of staff in different departments. The positive interaction with the cashier, though not directly related to pet expertise, underscores the potential for positive customer service within the store.
As a large national chain, Petco typically has various promotional offers and a loyalty program (Petco Pals Rewards). These can include discounts on specific brands of pet food, seasonal sales on toys and accessories, and rewards points earned on purchases that can be redeemed for discounts. They often have ongoing promotions advertised in-store, online, and through their mobile app. To learn about the specific current promotions and the details of the Petco Pals Rewards program at the Rochester location, customers are encouraged to visit the store at 120 Market Pl Blvd Ste 8, Rochester, NH 03867, check the national Petco website, or use the Petco mobile app. They may also have local flyers or in-store signage detailing any specific offers at the Rochester branch.
In conclusion, the Petco in Rochester, New Hampshire, offers a standard range of pet supplies and live animals, with some staff members, like the cashier Hailey, providing exceptional customer service and creating positive interactions. While the store does sell saltwater fish, at least one customer perceives the expertise in this area to be stronger at the Petco location in Dover. For general pet needs and potentially friendly service, the Rochester Petco is a convenient option for local pet owners. However, those specifically seeking deep knowledge about saltwater aquariums might want to consider visiting the Dover store based on the feedback provided. As with any large retail chain, experiences can vary, and further personal interaction with the staff in the Rochester store's aquatics department would be beneficial for those with specific questions or needs regarding fish keeping.

Mar 18, 2024 · Jessica BoisvertTerrible experience with the groomers this week. Brought our dog in to be groomed on Thursday. We arrived only to be told that the haircut was a bit rough because our dog was a little squirmy, but we could bring him in Sunday for a touch up with the lead groomer. (Our dog has never had an issue being bad with groomers) We get home Thursday after his appointment to find that his tail had been cut during his groom and was bleeding. We called the store immediately and were told that they would refund us for the groom, touch him up for free, and if we needed to bring him to the vet, we would be reimbursed for his treatment. We bring him to the vet the next morning to be treated for his tail injury. Vet says the injury is from a cut/razor burn. They treated it, gave him a shot and sent us home with medication and special wipes for his tail. Sunday afternoon, we bring our dog back to petco for his appt with the lead groomer only to find that the appt has been switched back to the groomer who cut our dog the first time. We declined because we were told that our dog would be groomed by someone with more experience. (AKA the lead groomer). They then tell us, we can either come back another time or use the previous groomer. We declined and asked for the refund. After processing our refund, the cashier takes the itemized receipt from our vet, and says that the store will contact us in the next couple days to get us reimbursed for our dogs visit. They said it couldn’t be taken care of today because it was the weekend. An hour after sending us home, they send us a text saying that they “reviewed footage” and there was no possible way that the injury could have been from them and that they would not be covering our vet bill anymore. They even said, “he didn’t appear to be in any pain in the video” so it couldn’t have been them. We sent them timestamped pictures of our dogs bleeding tail and then called them. They repeated the same excuse, saying that they couldn’t possibly be responsible and it was now out of their hands. Now our dog has an injured tail, a bad haircut, and we’re out ~$135.00 for a vet visit that was supposed to be covered by Petco. Super disappointed. We’ve been part of their membership for a year and have almost exclusively shopped petco for our pets supplies. Probably won’t be going back anytime soon. Edit — Monday afternoon Petco contacted our vet and decided that they will be reimbursing us for our dogs visit. Still not super thrilled with how it was handled, but they did end up following through with their offer and we are grateful.
