Petco

First time visiting this store and the welcoming was excellent. Our pups had appointments but only one could be seen because of unforeseen hair issues which was okay so they directed me back to my pups Vet for further treatment. On the other hand the pup that was groomed looked and smelled great

Very poor service, had to wait over 30 minutes for help to get fish... The cashier paged the attendant twice to no avail... Finally the cashier herself left her station to scoop the fish for me .. in addition the store was very dirty I will never go back to this location again especially when there is a pet smart 2 miles away ..

The grooming dept at Petco in Gonzales, LA is horrible. I should have known better after the last visit when the grooming manager decided to make rude comments about the amount of times I bring my pup into see them. Although not everyone can afford to pamper their pups for $50-60 a visit - we stick to at home baths. All that being said, decided I would give my pup a spa day at this Petco...because maybe she was just having a bad day last time. Our grooming appointment for my lab (who is extremely sweet and loves giving kisses but very anxious when strangers are involved) was this past Saturday. We arrived on time and completed all the paper work. When in the process of the groomer taking my pup, the groomer decided to say that she would not be able to take him for his appointment today because she was still getting over being sick and did not want to deal with him. She said that I would need to reschedule for a different day/time and sent me on my way. I think it was a sign that my pup did not want to go with this lady. No attempts to comfort my pup to warm up to each other either. Just 20 seconds of pulling on a slip lead and then giving up. There were no apologies, no discounts offered, no lets fit you in first thing tomorrow. Only I will have to reschedule. To come back when you are not sick? Why are you at work if you are not going to do your job? Past 2 times now have been bad experiences for me. I will not make it 3.

Convenient employees are very nice and it’s usually in and out they have pretty much everything you need for your dog cat fish mice snakes whatever you need they usually have it very knowledgeable. People work there so any questions you have answered easily with no problems.

Great place. Could use more living fish, though.
