Would like to like it. I'm very big into aquatics. It's interesting talking to staff about aquatics. But there's not much in-depth knowledge to discuss. The shop does not sell specialized medications for fish, only herbal medications, which is detrimental for all levels of aquatic hobbyists. This shop does not sell commonly available and specially developed medications that can target certain parasites in fish. There are also tried and proven cocktails that can treat a handful of aquatic illnesses; this store does not sell those. It's a real shame because breeding practices aren't great in aquatics, and there's not much this chain can do to support healthier practices. They also have an aisle dedicated to birds, despite seemingly having no one who's knowledgeable about birds. I've had parrots for over 20 years; you can get basic stuff here (food or toys). The toys will always be at an incredible markup. And the food is mediocre to bad quality. Lastly, I had some not great customer service here. I've been setting up a new tank; i had to exchange a piece of equipment. I got scolded by staff for leaving a piece of equipment for return at the register while I shopped. This was not the first nor second time I returned something that failed (the last one being an aquarium that leaked). I was told to keep my return on my person while I shopped.. it made me uncomfortable because I didn't want to carry something past the register that could be mistaken for something straight off the shelf. The cashier dismissed my concern after she scolded me. I think that genuinely was the turning point. It feels like I'm done dealing with middlemen in person for my pet needs, especially given the markups on pricing. All the things you want, you can get from Chewy for cheaper. I don't intend to come back here.

Great location to purchase your needed supplies for your pets. Every employee is very knowledgeable about their supplies and where they are located. Highly trained and so helpful in all your needs. Great job Petco, you are second to none...♥️

Very DISHONEST company. Not the local store but online. They said free same day delivery for orders over $35. When I went ahead with order and paid with PayPal I suddenly see a "tip" for $12 added and charged through PayPal. There was no review after PayPal, the other just went through. There was no mention of a "tip" (which I found out by calling the store was for Doordash) when I was checking out! Of course, when I call the online store, I'm on hold forever. DISHONEST!! Find another online store!

They close without warning and rudely take him out of the store as if one were a criminal.

Love this store because of the staff. I have yet to have a bad interaction with any of them. The issue is the fact they're probably understaffed and cannot keep up with the demands of operations happening at the store. It constantly looks like it's under construction with boxes in the isles and items not in stock. I still keep coming back, but I hope that they get it together one day.
