So I stopped in probably a dozen times in the last few months and every single time the fish area was closed down saying they were sick and in quarantine. If it’s that hard to keep your live “fish” healthy maybe you shouldn’t keep live animals at all, It’s a waste of time to go to get fish here

Petco Introduce

Welcome to the Petco located at 26209 104th Ave SE in Kent, WA, your local "Pet Store Near Me" dedicated to providing a wide variety of supplies and services for your beloved pets. As a well-known national chain, Petco aims to be a comprehensive resource for pet owners, offering everything from food and accessories to grooming and veterinary care in many locations. This particular store in Kent serves the local community by providing access to essential pet products and various services designed to enhance the health and well-being of your animal companions.

The environment of a Petco store is generally designed to be spacious and organized, making it easy for customers to navigate and find the products they need. Typically, you can expect to find clearly marked sections for different types of pets, including dogs, cats, fish, reptiles, birds, and small animals. The layout usually includes aisles stocked with food, treats, toys, bedding, and other essential supplies. Many Petco locations also feature dedicated areas for live animals, grooming services, and veterinary clinics (often third-party partnerships operating within the store). The Kent Petco likely follows this general model, aiming to provide a convenient and comprehensive shopping experience for pet owners.

As a large pet retail chain, Petco offers a broad spectrum of products and services. The primary offering is a vast selection of pet supplies. This includes a wide variety of pet food brands, catering to different dietary needs, preferences, and budgets. You can typically find food formulated for specific breeds, life stages, and health conditions. In addition to food, Petco stocks a comprehensive range of accessories such as collars, leashes, harnesses, beds, crates, carriers, toys, and training aids for various types of pets. They also offer grooming supplies, cleaning products, and health and wellness items.

Beyond retail, many Petco stores, including the one in Kent, often provide various services to support pet owners. Grooming services are commonly available, offering baths, haircuts, nail trims, and other hygiene-related services to keep your pets looking and feeling their best. Select Petco locations also host vaccination clinics and may have partnerships with veterinary clinics operating within the store, providing convenient access to basic veterinary care. Additionally, Petco often offers pet training classes and workshops to help pet owners build strong bonds with their animals and address behavioral issues.

One of the features of Petco as a national chain is its widespread availability and brand recognition. This can offer a sense of familiarity and convenience for pet owners who may have shopped at other Petco locations. The Kent store provides a local presence for this national brand, offering access to a wide range of products under one roof. The potential for in-store services like grooming and veterinary care (if available at this specific location) adds to the convenience factor for local pet owners.

However, recent customer reviews provide some insights into potential areas of concern at this specific Kent Petco location. One reviewer expressed significant dissatisfaction with the fish area, stating that it was consistently closed due to sick fish being in quarantine over several months. This raises questions about the health management of live animals in this particular store and suggests a potential issue for customers specifically looking to purchase fish. Another reviewer highlighted unprofessional behavior by a staff member using their phone while assisting customers, which detracts from the overall customer service experience and reflects poorly on the store's image.

On a more positive note, another reviewer mentioned that while they prefer a competitor, Petco in Kent is a viable option for avoiding crowds in a nearby location and offers the convenience of being in the same shopping complex as other retailers like Target and Bath & Body Works. This suggests that the store's location might be a beneficial feature for some customers. The same reviewer also noted that the employees are generally nice, which is a positive aspect of customer service. However, they also expressed concern for the welfare of the ferrets housed in the store, stating they had been there for an extended period.

Information regarding specific promotional offers at the Kent Petco is not provided in the customer reviews. As a large retailer, Petco frequently offers various promotions, discounts, and loyalty programs to attract and retain customers. These may include sales on specific brands of pet food, discounts on grooming services, special offers for new customers, or the Petco Pals Rewards program, which allows members to earn points and receive discounts. To learn about the current promotions at the Kent Petco, it is recommended to visit the store in person, check their website (www.petco.com), or contact them directly at (253) 852-5100 or +1 253-852-5100. They may also have weekly ads or in-store signage detailing current offers.

In conclusion, the Petco located in Kent, WA, at 26209 104th Ave SE, serves as a local "Pet Store Near Me" offering a wide range of pet supplies and potentially various services like grooming and veterinary care. While it benefits from the brand recognition and broad product selection of a national chain, recent customer reviews indicate potential concerns regarding the health management of live animals (specifically fish) and instances of unprofessional staff behavior. On the other hand, the store's location offers convenience for some shoppers, and at least one reviewer found the employees to be generally nice. To get the most accurate information about the store's environment, specific services offered at this location, and any current promotional deals, it is advisable to visit the store or contact them directly. Local pet owners should weigh the convenience and product range against the reported issues when considering this Petco location for their pet care needs.

Update - I think it’s really inappropriate for staff to use their phone ON shift while checking a customer out. Not only did she use her phone the whole time helping someone in front of me, she also helped me and was on her phone the whole time. Please keep employees phones off floor. It gives you guys a very bad look and the employees a bad look as well prefer pet smart but it’s worth going if you want to avoid the rush in southcenter and you still wanna hit target /or bath & body works. The employees are always nice. I feel bad for the ferrets though. They have been there for awhile 😭

We’ve had a very good experience with the grooming at this location. We’ve been taking our dog here for over a year and even with his stubbornness they managed to get his care cut very well. They’re also very good at returning items that are defective without questioning the reason or arguing.

I have brought my lab to this location several times but was turned away today by the spa manager due to my dog getting his vaccinations over 24 hours ago. She stated the Petco policy is you have to wait 48 hours but that contradicts what the Petco website states. On the Petco website it states dogs 16 weeks and older must wait 24 hours after getting rabies vaccination. We drive 30 minutes to get him groomed and he absolutely hates the car so to be turned away was very disappointing. It was obvious she did not want to do the grooming even though we had an appointment. I asked her to show me where it stated 48 hours and she said no. Once I got home it took me 5 seconds to find the policy on the website. I would suggest Petco ensures their employees actually know the correct policy instead of just guessing and then turning customers away.
