Wish I could leave 5 stars because the variety And cleanliness of this place is great! However staff is not knowledgeable they sold me a chocolate chip star fish along with some smaller fish. Few days later most of the fish started dying. I was working and couldn’t get back to swap the dead fish they said I only had 2 days to change the fish. I had them frozen so I can take them so they can see they died within the week. Anyway long story short they didn’t offer any discounts on water tests either. Another thing to add I find out the starfish is actually carnivorous and eats the small fish! I personally picked up the starfish after one fish was left and it had it in its mouth already dead. they never mentioned the starfish feeds on smaller fish. so I spent about $150 on those fish for them to all die. I love the starfish though I plan on keeping it but now that I know it’s carnivorous I won’t be buying expensive fish for it to eat. Anyway I will probably go to another saltwater fish store next time where the staff is more knowledgeable.

LAX Aquarium Introduce
Welcome to the local introduction of LAX Aquarium, your neighborhood Pet Store Near Me specializing in aquariums, located at 5310 W Century Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90045, USA. You can contact them at (310) 641-4664 or their mobile number +1 310-641-4664.
LAX Aquarium is noted for its great variety of aquatic life and the cleanliness of its store. However, customer experiences indicate potential issues with staff knowledge and customer service.
Services and Features:
- Wide Variety of Aquatic Life: The store offers a diverse selection of fish and potentially other aquatic creatures, as mentioned by a customer who purchased saltwater fish and a starfish.
- Clean Environment: The cleanliness of the store is highlighted as a positive aspect.
- Aquarium Relocation Services (Potentially): One customer inquired about a quote for moving an aquarium, suggesting this might be a service offered, although they did not receive a response.
Promotional Information (Based on Reviews):
No specific promotional offers were mentioned in the provided reviews. However, one customer initially wished they could leave a 5-star rating due to the variety and cleanliness, indicating these aspects might be considered strengths that attract customers.
It is important to note significant concerns raised by customers. One customer reported being sold a carnivorous starfish that was not identified as such by the staff, leading to the death of other smaller fish purchased. This suggests a lack of knowledge among the staff regarding the species they sell and their compatibility. Additionally, the store reportedly had a strict two-day exchange policy for dead fish and did not offer discounts on water tests, further contributing to a negative experience for the customer who lost their fish shortly after purchase.
Another customer expressed extreme disappointment with the lack of response to multiple requests for a quote to move an aquarium. The lack of communication, even a simple acknowledgement, was seen as poor customer service and indicative of how new customers might be valued.
For local users in Los Angeles looking for an aquarium store, LAX Aquarium offers a wide variety of aquatic life and a clean environment. However, based on recent customer feedback, it is advisable to exercise caution regarding staff knowledge about the species and to ensure clear communication regarding any purchases or services. Potential customers seeking services like aquarium relocation may need to follow up diligently to receive a response.

Feb 10, 2025 · Lian SánchezI reached out multiple times over several days requesting a quote to move my aquarium, but unfortunately, I never received a response from Chris, the owner. I'm extremely disappointed by the lack of communication. Even if he isn't taking on new jobs at the moment, a simple courtesy call or message to let me know would have been greatly appreciated. I even called during the hours his employees suggested, yet still received no response. Good customer service is about keeping potential clients informed, and this experience was frustrating. To the response below: It’s disappointing to see that there was time to respond to this, but not a few minutes to assist a potential customer. It sends a clear message about how new customers are valued.
Apr 04, 2025 · Jonathan ContrerasLove this place, great attention to their guests, they answer every question with a good attitude, nice environment, they have everything for the care of my aquarium. l like to visit it every time I have the opportunity.❤️
Oct 06, 2024 · Lizet NegreteI bought some fish on Sunday. While there, I asked to see the fish be fed to make sure they were eating. They told me they couldn't because it wasn't time yet. It was around 4pm. Even though there was a sale, I still spent over $200. Less than 24 hours later with fully drip acclimation and placed inside an acclimation box inside my 180, 2 of the 5 fish have died. One of the fish was in a separate 90 FOWLR tank. I called the store for the arrive alive policy or guarantee, and was told that it doesn't apply because of the sale. I wish to see this in writing. Had I known this, I would have avoided the hour trip there and hour trip back. Truly disappointed.
