Kona Reef Az - Surprise

My family and I checked out the Surprise location for the first time about a month ago. We were assisted by Stephanie who was more than happy to answer questions about aquatic plants and their care. The shop and tanks are well maintained. The fish look healthy, plus there wasn't a bunch of dead fish like certain big pet retailers usually have. Today we returned to get a betta for our 5.5 gallon tank. I love that they are kept in community tanks and not tiny cups! We were assisted by Stephanie again and she was patient while our 12 year old picked one out. She was helpful explaining what we needed to do when we got home. We left with some pearl weed and 2 cherry shrimp along with this guy who is doing awesome. We will be back again probably to set up a bigger tank lol.

I loved it here, the employees were friendly but also knew what they were talking about. I've been keeping fish my entire life and I still learned new things. I will never go to another store for fish again. The two fish I got are healthy and settling into their tank well. No dead or unhealthy fish that I saw. They also had exotic fish that I had never seen.

LOVE this LFS. They always have healthy looking fish in well maintained tanks. They don’t heavily stock small tanks and actually give the fish some room and spread them out how they should be. Great prices- really. Friendly staff. Logan is amazing and very knowledgeable. My kids and I always look for him when we go in. Always have a good stock on saltwater and freshwater inhabitants.

First time in this store since starting up my salt water tank. It’s the best store in the valley by far. I had to have asked about at least 15 different fish and Logan knew everything about every fish and coral I was interested in. He told me the risks of each fish for my reef tank and made recommendations. You could clearly tell he loves his job and what he does. This is now 100% my only store I will be using. Had a great experience! -Adrian

TWO WORDS: KONA REEF! I have been getting the runaround on the Internet. Mainly because I’m a content creator and #fishtok is HUGE! The other well-known big corporation pet stores also gave me the runaround and false information. I am doing everything I can to learn everything about fish and perfecting their water. Logan was incredible!! I won’t go anywhere else now. It’s so beautiful in there. I could live in Kona Reef. Kinda not even kidding. What a gem in the middle of the desert!! My 9 year old daughter took the photos that I added here. They will forever have my business. I will send everybody I know to them. They are well informed fish and water experts! And best of all Logan is happy to teach me how to truly care for my tanks properly and that means the absolute world to me. 13 out of 10! 7 stars!
