Fish Bowl Aquarium and Pet Mart Introduce

For pet owners and aquarium enthusiasts in Fall River, Massachusetts, and the surrounding areas, Fish Bowl Aquarium and Pet Mart, located at 425 Pleasant St, Fall River, MA 02721, USA, presents itself as a local "Pet Store Near Me" with a diverse range of offerings. Based on customer reviews, this establishment caters to a variety of pets, including fish, hamsters, and even dogs, alongside a selection of supplies, live plants, and crustaceans.

One enthusiastic customer, who has been visiting Fish Bowl Aquarium and Pet Mart for a couple of years, shared a highly positive experience. They highlighted the availability of a wide variety of animals and products, including various types of fish, hamsters, general pet supplies, live aquatic plants, and crustaceans. Notably, they also mentioned purchasing their Bichon-poo puppy, Betty-Boop, from this store approximately seven months prior to their review, expressing immense satisfaction with their smart and beloved pet. This suggests that Fish Bowl Aquarium and Pet Mart may occasionally offer puppies, in addition to their other animal offerings.

The same reviewer consistently praised the owner and staff as "very knowledgeable," emphasizing their willingness to share comprehensive information about the animals and their care. They also noted the cleanliness of the store and the consistently healthy condition of the fish and plants they had purchased over time. Their hamsters, reportedly 2 to 3 years old at the time of the review, further attest to the quality of care and health of the animals sold at Fish Bowl Aquarium and Pet Mart.

In contrast, another customer offered a more nuanced perspective, acknowledging the "nice folks" working at the store but raising a concern about the variability of their water quality for fish. This reviewer reported instances of "very high TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) around 2000 µS," which they found made the acclimation process for new fish challenging and time-consuming. TDS is a measure of dissolved substances in water, and excessively high levels can be stressful for aquatic life. However, the same reviewer also noted that at other times, the TDS levels were "in a much more reasonable zone, down under 300," suggesting inconsistency in water parameters.

Considering these two reviews, Fish Bowl Aquarium and Pet Mart appears to be a pet store with knowledgeable and helpful staff, a clean environment, and a diverse selection of animals and supplies. The positive experience of purchasing healthy fish, small animals, and even a dog, alongside live plants and crustaceans, indicates a broad range of offerings beyond just aquarium supplies. However, the concern raised about fluctuating water quality for fish is something that potential fish buyers might want to be aware of and perhaps inquire about before making a purchase. It may be beneficial for the store to implement consistent water quality monitoring and provide customers with information about the water parameters of the fish they are purchasing.

Based on the information provided, the services offered at Fish Bowl Aquarium and Pet Mart likely include:

  • Sale of Live Animals: This includes a variety of fish (freshwater and possibly saltwater), hamsters, and potentially other small animals. The sale of puppies, as mentioned in one review, suggests they may occasionally have dogs available.
  • Aquarium Supplies: A comprehensive range of tanks, filters, heaters, lighting, substrates, decorations, water conditioners, and test kits for maintaining healthy aquariums.
  • Pet Supplies for Various Animals: Food, treats, cages, bedding, toys, and other essential supplies for dogs, cats, hamsters, and other small animals they may offer.
  • Live Plants: A selection of aquatic plants for aquariums, contributing to the aesthetic appeal and potentially the water quality.
  • Crustaceans: The availability of live crustaceans for aquariums, which can add diversity to a fish tank ecosystem.
  • Expert Advice: The knowledgeable owner and staff are highlighted as a valuable resource for information on animal care and aquarium maintenance.

The positive review emphasizes the staff's willingness to "tell you everything there is to know," suggesting that they provide guidance on the proper care for the animals they sell and the maintenance of their habitats. This personalized advice can be particularly beneficial for new pet owners or those venturing into keeping specific types of animals.

The knowledgeable staff and clean environment are significant positives. Nice folks, but their water quality varies. I have found very high TDS (2000 ùS) which makes it take a long time to drip new fish successfully. Other times, the TDS is in a much more reasonable zone, down under 300.

Workers are nice the owner is rude and keeping sick pups in metal cages in back room for weeks on end no blankets no paper just metal. Selling sick fish. Fish tanks are filthy dead fish in pretty much every tank.also witnessed several times people dropping there puppy's off there multiple times Update comment. People should just read your comments to your 1star reviews and see how rude and how awful of a Human you are.

Usually the staff is pretty good when I go there. But, it was all new staff I have never ran into and I waited 15 minutes in the back where there was literally no staff the entire time, then when I went to the front they said someone would be back there. I waited 5 more minutes and then left because I had to get home in time for dinner. I walk up to the front to leave and someone that came in 10 minutes after me wa serviced. As an employee I would assume taking care of a paid customer is more important than checking inventory. They need to be retrained

I cannot believe you guys are selling puppies!!!. We all know how inhumane it is to buy from puppy mills and to keep them in the small containers without human contact for extended time. PLEASE stop selling puppies. If you care at all about the souls you care for please partner with a rescue. Lots of puppies need homes too. This is incredibly sad and cruel. I will not shop here and will tell anyone and everyone to not support your store until you stop selling puppies.Make the change to be humane. You’ll be better for it. Updating to include the reason for my 1 star review is because the store smells terrible, at least a dozen fish in your tanks were dead and the employees may be nice but the ownership obviously doesn’t care about the lives they are responsible for. Puppy mills are atrocious. Anyone interested in buying a puppy please google puppy mills. Just because you can sell puppies doesn’t mean you should. I went in to buy a few fish and left in tears. I never shop here but thought I’d give it a chance after an appointment 😭 if you Love animals don’t support this place and its practices. We know better in 2025. Time to do better for your animals.
