I was interested in purchasing a hand fed parakeet from here. I was in contact with the breeder for the parakeets for months. I went to see the birds multiple times and was waiting until they were ready to go. The first clutch I was interested in all died. I posted a picture of the new baby bird I might get in a group and there were many concerns. Sure enough the birds passed away and they had no explanation as to why? Months later I got a text from the woman who breeds the parakeets that my bird is ready, it’s a blue parakeet and it’s a male. My husband and I went to see it and it was similar as the previous clutch that passed away. It had loose stool and it’s bottom looked dirty. I stated my concerns to the man working the back (I’m assuming it was the woman’s husband). He called his wife and had her on speaker phone and they were both angry I decided not to buy the bird. They tried demanding I pay them $30 for a DNA test they said they had done on the bird to find out it was male. I asked them for a receipt, (although I never asked them to DNA test a bird for me) they asked for my address and they would mail me the certificate. When we would not provide our address the man kicked us out of the feather farm. Very hostile people, we were trying to talk to them about it and they acted like they had no time for us. I’m so very sad because I’ve been coming to this place for around 20 years visiting the birds and I loved it there. Below are pictures of the first clutch of parakeets I was interested in buying that didn’t make it.

Feather Farm Introduce

Welcome to Feather Farm, your local Pet Store Near You, located at 1183 4th Ave in Napa, California. We specialize in offering a variety of birds, including hand-fed parakeets and conures, to the local community.

The environment at Feather Farm seems to be focused on birds, with customers having visited to see and potentially purchase parakeets and conures. One long-term customer, who had been visiting for around 20 years, initially had a positive impression. However, their experience with a recent attempt to purchase a parakeet raised concerns about the health of the birds, noting issues like loose stool and a dirty bottom in a bird that looked similar to a previous clutch that had died without explanation. In contrast, another customer described the staff as very knowledgeable and caring for their birds.

At Feather Farm, our services include breeding and selling hand-fed parakeets and other birds like conures. One customer's experience involved months of contact with the breeder for a parakeet. However, after observing a bird with potential health issues, they decided not to purchase it, leading to a dispute where the owners allegedly demanded a $30 fee for a DNA test that the customer never requested. This interaction was described as hostile, resulting in the customer being asked to leave. On the other hand, another customer reported purchasing two conures and expressed satisfaction with the knowledge and care provided for the birds, indicating a positive experience with a different type of bird and staff interaction.

A key feature of Feather Farm is its specialization in birds, particularly parakeets and conures, with direct interaction with the breeder. However, potential customers should be aware of a significant discrepancy in customer experiences. While one customer found the store knowledgeable and caring, another reported serious concerns about bird health and a hostile encounter with the owners regarding fees and a refused sale. This suggests that while some aspects of the store may be positive, there are potential risks related to bird health and customer service that prospective buyers should consider.

Currently, there is no specific promotional information available. Local users in Napa, CA, interested in purchasing birds from Feather Farm should weigh the contrasting reviews regarding bird health and customer service. While one customer had a positive experience, another's detailed account raises significant concerns. It may be advisable to thoroughly assess the health of any bird before purchase and clarify all potential fees and policies upfront. For any inquiries, you can contact Feather Farm at (707) 255-8833 or +1 707-255-8833.

Very knowledgeable and caring for their birds, I have purchased two conures from Feather Farm and look forward to returning for future feathered family members! Thank you Arlyta!

Arlyta is a very good human. She is extremely understanding and she offers really great birds. We have an amazing cockatiel that we got from her and she has been an absolute love of a bird, so cuddly and healthy. I highly recommend feather farm if you want a sweet bird to have as a lifelong companion.

Absolutely wonderful people, I thoroughly enjoyed my visit here. I bought two wonderful little cockatiels for the flock I already currently have and I'm only hoping they'll acclimate well. I can tell they're extremely well hand-raised birds and I'm very impressed with how they handle everything with their birds. I would definitely come again and again. Very nice people.
