Hi! So first off I was really excited about having a local pet store that catered to some exotic animals. There was a wide variety of supplies. However, I need to address some severe concerns. Firstly, there was a chinchilla on the ground in a tiny cage with no food or water. We almost stepped on his cage! The rats are in horrible conditions, with tiny spaces and barely any room. Even for feeders - this would pose many health risks. I own five frogs myself and understand keeping it clean can sometimes be a hassle. However, all the tanks including lizards, frogs, anything, had some sort of feces in water bowls. Another thing is the ball pythons had no where to climb, and ultimately? The place is a fire hazard. Even with my qualms, with how tightly packed the store is all it takes is one heat lamp to have a spark and everything will be at risk. I urge the staff to consider the lives of every animal. The fish are great, but even the feeders should be respected and cared for.

Farmland Pets & Feed Introduce
For local residents in Silverdale, Washington, searching within the "Pet Store Near Me" category for a pet supply store, Farmland Pets & Feed is located at 9000 Silverdale Way NW. According to available information, this store aims to cater to a variety of pet owners, including those with more common pets and those interested in some exotic animals. They reportedly offer a wide variety of supplies to meet the needs of different animal companions.
One customer expressed initial excitement about finding a local pet store that caters to some exotic animals and noted the availability of a wide variety of supplies. This suggests that Farmland Pets & Feed may stock items that are not typically found in more general pet stores, potentially making it a valuable resource for owners of less common pets in the Silverdale area. The mention of a "wide variety of supplies" indicates that customers might be able to find a broad range of products for different types of animals, from food and enclosures to accessories and enrichment items.
However, the same customer also raised several significant concerns regarding the conditions in which some of the animals were being kept. These concerns included the observation of a chinchilla in a small cage on the ground with no visible food or water, as well as rats being housed in what were described as "horrible conditions" with limited space, even for feeder animals. The reviewer suggested that these conditions could pose health risks to the animals.
Furthermore, the customer noted issues with the cleanliness of various animal enclosures, stating that the tanks for lizards, frogs, and other animals had feces in their water bowls. This observation raises concerns about the hygiene and overall care provided to these animals. The reviewer, who identified themselves as owning five frogs, acknowledged the challenges of maintaining clean enclosures but implied that the conditions observed at Farmland Pets & Feed were below an acceptable standard.
Another specific concern mentioned was the housing of ball pythons, which reportedly had no opportunities for climbing. Providing appropriate environments that mimic an animal's natural habitat is crucial for their well-being, and the lack of climbing structures for ball pythons could indicate a deficiency in their enclosure setup. The reviewer also expressed a significant safety concern, describing the store as a potential "fire hazard" due to being tightly packed, suggesting that a heat lamp could easily ignite surrounding materials.
Despite these serious concerns about animal welfare and safety, another customer provided a contrasting positive review. This customer described the service as "always fast and friendly" and mentioned that it was easy to become a regular at the store. They also noted that the prices were better than most other places and that it was worth the drive from Mason County for them. This reviewer also stated that the store had changed much over the years and for the better. This positive feedback suggests that Farmland Pets & Feed may have aspects of its business, such as customer service and pricing, that are well-received by some customers.
The discrepancy between these two reviews highlights the importance of considering all available feedback when evaluating a business. While one customer experienced significant issues related to animal care and safety, another found the store to offer good value and friendly service. This suggests that the store may have areas of strength, such as customer interaction and pricing, but also areas that require immediate attention and improvement, particularly concerning the living conditions of some of the animals.
For local users in Silverdale looking for a "Pet Store Near Me," Farmland Pets & Feed offers a physical location at 9000 Silverdale Way NW and can be contacted by phone at (360) 692-0415 or +1 360-692-0415. The store reportedly carries a wide variety of supplies and caters to some exotic animals. However, potential customers should be aware of the serious concerns raised in one of the provided reviews regarding animal welfare and safety. While another customer reported positive experiences with service and pricing, the issues concerning animal living conditions and potential safety hazards should be carefully considered.
Given the conflicting feedback, local users might want to exercise caution and potentially visit the store to assess the environment and animal care practices firsthand before making any purchases, especially if they are interested in the exotic animals mentioned. It would also be prudent to inquire about the store's policies and procedures regarding animal welfare and safety. While the store may offer competitive prices and friendly service, ensuring the well-being of the animals should be a paramount concern for any pet store and its customers.
In conclusion, Farmland Pets & Feed in Silverdale, WA, is a local pet store that reportedly offers a wide variety of supplies and caters to some exotic animals. While one customer praised the friendly service and competitive pricing, another raised significant concerns about the living conditions of some animals, including chinchillas, rats, lizards, frogs, and ball pythons, as well as potential safety hazards within the store. Local users searching for a "Pet Store Near Me" should consider this mixed feedback and potentially visit the store to form their own assessment before making a decision.

Feb 08, 2025 · mark angelo angelesThe staff here are wonderful and friendly. Such an amazing store, the aisles are narrow and its packed with cool things to look at, I love it. They have fish, reptiles, rodents, rabbits, birds, ducklings and chicks.
Feb 20, 2025 · Indaris NerothanI know I can always find the odd fish medication I need at farmland, fun to take a peek around at all the fish and cool critters on display too. Counting myself lucky I didn't leave with some colorful dart frogs last visit, but my angelfish's bacterial infection is almost gone thanks to you guys. I love how I can find fish and horse items here so I don't have to drive all over town or wait a week in the mail because even amazon doesnt carry it. I've somehow missed to bulk birdfood in the back section go check that out! The blue Jay's practically fist fight over the trail mix I bring home now.
