D.K. Reptiles and More Introduce
For reptile enthusiasts in Columbus, Ohio, D.K. Reptiles and More, located at 3408 E Main St, serves as a local establishment within the "Pet Store Near Me" category, specializing in reptiles and related supplies. Unlike traditional pet stores that cater to a broad range of animals, D.K. Reptiles and More focuses primarily on reptiles, potentially offering a unique selection of creatures and products tailored to their specific needs. This introduction aims to provide an objective overview of D.K. Reptiles and More based on the limited information available, specifically focusing on what can be inferred about its environment, services, features, and insights from the provided customer reviews.
As a specialized pet store, the environment at D.K. Reptiles and More would likely be tailored to the housing and care requirements of various reptile species. This might include different types of enclosures such as terrariums and vivariums, maintaining specific temperature and humidity levels, and providing appropriate lighting and substrate for the well-being of the animals. The store would likely be stocked with a variety of reptile supplies, including specialized food, heating lamps, UVB lighting, substrates, hides, water dishes, and decor to create suitable habitats. The organization and cleanliness of the store would be important factors in ensuring the health of the reptiles and providing a pleasant shopping experience for customers. While the provided information does not offer specific details about the store's ambiance, the focus on reptiles suggests a dedicated and potentially knowledgeable environment for reptile keepers.
The primary service offered by D.K. Reptiles and More is the sale of various reptile species. One customer review mentions purchasing an Arizona Blonde tarantula, indicating that the store deals in arachnids as well. The availability of specific reptile species might vary depending on the time of year and the store's sourcing. Beyond the sale of animals, the store likely offers advice and guidance on reptile care, including habitat setup, feeding, and handling. The fact that a customer received a text message from "David here at DK" about a specific tarantula becoming available suggests a personalized level of communication and customer service, particularly for those seeking specific species. However, another review raises concerns about the accuracy of information provided at the time of purchase, stating that a tarantula sold as a "confirmed" female turned out to be male after its final molt.
Features of a specialized reptile store like D.K. Reptiles and More might include a knowledgeable staff with expertise in reptile husbandry, a diverse selection of both common and potentially rarer reptile species, and a comprehensive range of specialized supplies. The willingness to text customers about the availability of specific animals suggests a customer-focused approach. However, the negative reviews point to potential issues with the accuracy of sexing reptiles and providing reliable information about their feeding history and expected lifespan. One customer reported that a tarantula purchased with the expectation of it being female and long-lived, based on information provided at the time of sale, turned out to be male and died within a year after not eating. This raises concerns about the level of expertise or the accuracy of the information being shared with customers.
The pricing of reptiles and supplies at D.K. Reptiles and More is another aspect to consider. One review mentions paying around $95-100 for a tarantula and feeling disappointed with the overall experience, partly due to the perceived high price relative to the animal's lifespan and the inaccurate information provided. This suggests that while the store might offer specific species of interest, the pricing might be a factor for some customers, especially when coupled with concerns about the reliability of the information provided.
The provided information does not contain any details about specific promotional offers or discounts at D.K. Reptiles and More. It is common for pet stores to have sales events, especially around holidays or for specific products. Local users interested in any promotions should contact the store directly at (614) 327-0661 or +1 614-327-0661 to inquire about current offers or upcoming events.
In conclusion, D.K. Reptiles and More in Columbus, OH, serves as a specialized pet store catering to reptile enthusiasts. While they may offer a unique selection of reptiles and personalized communication regarding availability, the customer reviews raise concerns about the accuracy of information provided at the time of sale, particularly regarding the sex and expected lifespan of animals. Potential customers, especially those newer to reptile keeping, should be cautious and consider verifying information independently. For those specifically seeking reptiles and specialized supplies, D.K. Reptiles and More remains a local option to explore, but it would be prudent to approach purchases with careful consideration and thorough questioning.

After buying everything on black friday, I gave up trying to find an Arizona blonde. Out of the blue, David here at DK shot me a text saying he had one come in!
Jan 23, 2025 · Fredrick RemingtonPurchased an Arizona Blonde and was told that it was sexed and "confirmed" to be a female, when we arrived home we noticed a pretty gnarly injury on one of it's legs and ended up dropping it in its final molt. During that same molt we found out it was male. I asked when I got him what his last feeding was and he was given pinkies and should eat again with no problem. He was on a hunger strike the whole year I had him and recently died (RIP Daytona). I got him with the expectation that he was a female and would live for much longer. Regardless of my disappointment I took good care of him. I believe I paid around $95-100 for my T and I'm really disappointed with the experience I had. While I am newer to insect keeping, I am not entirely inexperienced. I knew the price was high, but he was good with being handled and I was expecting him to be around for much longer than he was.
Apr 01, 2025 · Moss AmosAnimal enclosures are nasty and over crowded. Been here three times they never have the feeder bugs I need. There are racks and racks of rodents which is fine but it smells absolutely disgusting in here. The whole place is just gross.
Jan 24, 2025 · Clayton WimbishThe gentleman who helped me was great. He went out of his way not only to save me some money but to help me when I couldn't get my technology to work with paying. Not only will I be bringing my business back, but I'm headed there today! Wonderful place for feeders.
Nov 01, 2024 · Levi DouglasCame in on the 12th and bought 2 feeder rats for my snake. It hasn’t been hardly a week and today I found the one I had left dropped dead in its cage. Food full, water full, appropriate bedding, literally no reason for this to happen. Which leads me to question now will my snake get sick from eating the other one??
