Arts Underwater Reef is hands down the most knowledgeable and helpful fish store in Pasadena and the surrounding areas! Over the past eight weeks, I’ve probably visited multiple times each week while preparing my 55-gallon tank, and every visit has been a fantastic experience. The team here is incredibly patient and always takes the time to answer my (many!) questions. Unlike the big-box stores, they provide sound, honest advice and truly care about setting customers up for success. They’ve emphasized the importance of patience in building my tank the right way, and I can already see the benefits. No matter what issue I’ve encountered, they’ve guided me through it with detailed explanations and hands-on support. They consistently test my water and provide expert recommendations to ensure my water levels are perfect. On top of that, Art, the owner, also came to my home to clean my 55-gallon tank, and the job he did was amazing! Before he started, my water was cloudy, and there were areas on the glass that needed a deep clean. He worked his magic, and by the time he finished, my tank looked brand new! Not only did he restore the water clarity, but he also gave me valuable pointers on how to maintain it and keep it pristine. He even offered to come by monthly to ensure my tank stays in top condition. Art has been an amazing help and him and his team are super knowledgeable and helpful. This is a beautiful place with a wide selection of tropical and freshwater fish. The tanks are well maintained and you can tell that the staff take great care of the animals. Everyone that works here is friendly, knowledgeable and incredibly helpful. They helped me set up a betta fish and shrimp tank, making sure I had all the necessary equipment: low flow filter, heater and filter guard. I always have a lot of fun asking questions and learning from the staff. Highly recommend this place for people interested in getting into fish-keeping.

Just visited this place for the first time today for some freshwater plants. This shop is so clean and organized, the animals and plants look so healthy! It made me feel really confident in my purchase. It’s also a family owned business and they were SO friendly and helpful. I will be coming back for my aquarium needs again. :)
