We were referred to her for our cat to have a thyroid surgery. We were told to call at 1:00. Called and said he was fine and to come and get him. We were there in 15 minutes. When we arrived, the doctor came out and said he died. There was no empathy for our loss and kind of blew it off as oh well. I would never take an animal there again and would not recommend them either

Welcome to Williamson Animal Hospital
Welcome to the introduction of Williamson Animal Hospital, located at 4450 NY 104, Williamson, NY 14589, USA. Serving the Williamson community and surrounding areas, Williamson Animal Hospital aims to provide veterinary care for your animal companions. As a local pet hospital, they offer a range of services, although specific details about their facilities and the full scope of their offerings are not extensively available online. Customer reviews provide some insight into the experiences of pet owners who have utilized their services.
Information regarding the specific environment of Williamson Animal Hospital, such as the layout of examination rooms, waiting areas, or specialized surgical suites, is not detailed in the provided reviews. However, one review mentions a cat undergoing thyroid surgery, implying the presence of surgical facilities. The positive review highlights the clinic's ability to accommodate scheduling needs, suggesting an organized and responsive administrative process. While the physical environment isn't described, it's reasonable to expect a standard veterinary clinic setting with areas for examination, potential surgical procedures, and patient recovery.
The services offered at Williamson Animal Hospital appear to include surgical procedures, as indicated by the mention of a cat undergoing thyroid surgery. Thyroid surgery in cats is a specialized procedure typically performed to treat hyperthyroidism, a common endocrine disorder in older cats. This suggests that the hospital is equipped to handle more complex medical interventions. Additionally, the positive review from a long-term client who brings their Golden Retrievers to the clinic indicates that Williamson Animal Hospital provides routine veterinary care for common pets like dogs. This likely includes annual check-ups, vaccinations, and treatment for various illnesses and minor issues.
A notable feature highlighted in the positive review is the veterinarian's practice of thoroughly explaining diagnoses and providing clients with printed information packets. This demonstrates a commitment to client education and ensuring that pet owners understand their animal's health conditions and treatment plans. This proactive approach to communication can contribute significantly to a positive and informed client experience. The reviewer also praises the friendly and kind staff, suggesting a welcoming and supportive atmosphere within the clinic.
However, it is crucial to acknowledge a serious negative review detailing a deeply upsetting experience. In this instance, a pet owner brought their cat in for a scheduled thyroid surgery and was informed upon arrival, just 15 minutes after a reassuring phone call, that their pet had died. The reviewer expressed a profound lack of empathy from the doctor regarding their loss. This review raises significant concerns about communication, transparency, and the level of emotional support provided to grieving pet owners in difficult situations. It is an important perspective to consider alongside the positive feedback.
Promotional information for Williamson Animal Hospital is not available in the provided reviews. To learn about any current promotions, special offers, or specific details about their services and expertise, it is recommended to contact them directly at (315) 589-8439 or +1 315-589-8439. You can inquire about their hours of operation, appointment scheduling policies, the full range of services they offer (including preventative care, dental care, emergency services, etc., if applicable), and any specific promotions for new clients or ongoing wellness programs. Visiting their website, if available, could also provide additional information about their practice and team.
For local users in Williamson, NY, and the surrounding areas considering Williamson Animal Hospital, the available information presents a mixed picture. On one hand, a long-term client speaks positively about the accommodating scheduling, thorough explanations of diagnoses, and friendly staff. This suggests a level of professionalism and care in routine and ongoing pet health management. On the other hand, a deeply concerning review highlights a significant failure in communication and a perceived lack of empathy during a tragic event. This disparity in experiences underscores the importance of considering all available feedback when making decisions about your pet's care. It is advisable to contact Williamson Animal Hospital directly to discuss your specific needs and to gain a clearer understanding of their current practices and approach to patient care and client communication. Asking detailed questions about their surgical procedures, post-operative care, and communication protocols may be particularly relevant given the contrasting customer experiences.

Jan 26, 2025 · denise LadaI’ve taken my Goldens here for years. My older golden (11 years old) has had a few minor issues over the years, but they’re always very accommodating with their schedule to get him in. I also appreciate that the vet will thoroughly go over a diagnosis and even give us printed out packets with additional information. Staff is very friendly & kind!
Feb 25, 2025 · Raquel LeisenringStaff are super friendly!!! My only issue is, we brought my two dogs, Moose (12 years old) and Bear (6mos old) for their rabies and distemperment vaccines. When we arrived, they asked if there were any concerns. I said yes, as Bear had been itching his ear really badly. Shaking his head constantly, whining, and even walked with a tilt in his head at one point because of the pain. The vet looked in his ear and said nothing was wrong. Fast forward 4-6 days. Bears' ear is now bleeding and scabbed from the itching. He can't sleep, is constantly walking with a tilt in his head, constantly whining, and more. I called again and asked for a SWAB to test for an ear infection. (Moose had just gotten over one, which was diagnosed by an urgent care vet) They got us in that same day (thankfully), but once again, they just looked at his ear. Commented. " Oh, it's gotten a lot worse." Then blatantly said she didn't know what was going on but gave us a random antibiotic and sent us on our way again. Thankfully, it's been kind of working for him. But I asked for a swab. No swab. No diagnosis. Nothing except "here's a random antibiotic." And that was it. Appointment over. It's very frustrating.
Jan 17, 2025 · Zoe' PittmanVery polite staff and the doctor is very nice and answers any questions I have regarding my cat. This is the second cat I’ve brought to them. They were very good with our first cat right up until the end of her life when we had to put her down. They even sent us a sympathy card for that cat. Very touching and thoughtful. I know our experience bringing our new kitten here will be just as good. Our new kitty loves the attention and the treats when he comes in for his routine visits.
